This is about a location again. I think it’s mildly interesting. Stumped again. Both of those episodes have fairly obviously disguised sets – they just added hazard tape around the door to change the stasis booth into an airlock for Parallel Universe, and the quarantine room is the sleeping quarters set. It’s too vague and they aren’t the only examples anyway but perhaps on the right lines. November 5, 2024 at 7:41 pm #299641 WarbodogParticipant Parallel Universe and Quarantine. Thanks for playing! November 5, 2024 at 8:33 pm #299644 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant Ah ivw just been through both episodes twice and barely see references to locations let alone the same ones that’s including things like discos, cargo decks, bays etc November 5, 2024 at 8:45 pm #299645 WarbodogParticipant It’s not referred to by exactly the same word in Quarantine. The same word is used in Twentica, but not referring to a location there. November 5, 2024 at 9:09 pm #299646 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant November 5, 2024 at 9:14 pm #299647 WarbodogParticipant Yep! I thought it was mildly interesting that those are the only times it’s ever mentioned (more in the book/s), though maybe not worth wasting people’s time to point out. Are they the only episodes with portions of a personality extracted and personified? (Deliberately phrased to exclude Polymorph.) Surely it’s a more obscure answer November 7, 2024 at 8:22 am #299698 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant D&A and Timewave. Are they the only episodes with portions of a personality extracted and personified? (Deliberately phrased to exclude Polymorph.) Rimmer has a massive hallucinogenic episode after being remotely infected by a hostile entity the rest of the crew encounter while exploring a celestial body. November 8, 2024 at 6:58 am #299734 WarbodogParticipant Pete Part I and Pete Part II, first not-wrong answer wins. Fine, no one fall for the trick. November 8, 2024 at 8:06 am #299736 Flap JackParticipant Were you hoping someone would say “those are the only 2 episodes with Pete in them”, and you’d go “Haha, you fool, Pete actually appeared in every episode of Series VIII!”. November 8, 2024 at 8:07 am #299738 WarbodogParticipant Were you hoping someone would say “those are the only 2 episodes with Pete in them”, and you’d go “Haha, you fool, Pete actually appeared in every episode of Series VIII!”. Birdman and Archie would also have done. November 8, 2024 at 8:53 am #299739 Flap JackParticipant Honestly I could have fallen for it, especially as Birdman’s appearance in the opening is blink and you miss it. But I thought you were just joking about how many obvious solutions there were, and weren’t expecting people to actually answer. Anyway, Pete Part I and Pete Part II are the only 2 episodes which are parts of a 2-parter. Did I win? November 8, 2024 at 8:56 am #299740 WarbodogParticipant Yeah, fine. November 8, 2024 at 9:09 am #299741 Ian SymesKeymaster I’m not having this. People or things appearing in the title sequence do not count as being in the episode. November 8, 2024 at 10:20 am #299747 Flap JackParticipant I’m not having this. People or things appearing in the title sequence do not count as being in the episode. What’s your stance on recaps, and other reused footage? November 8, 2024 at 11:34 am #299748 clemParticipant Quarantine and Entangled? Cat and Kryten, only those two, speaking in unison? November 8, 2024 at 12:11 pm #299749 Ian SymesKeymaster What’s your stance on recaps, and other reused footage? Interesting. I feel like if it’s diegetic to some extent (like Lister’s recap in Tikka, or the Hollister logs for BITR), then probably yes. If it’s just preceding the main action, such as Nanarchy and Pete Part Two, then no.
