And how is adult-Rmmer in possession of it in the future? The more I think about this the more it bothers me. I read this comment three hours ago and it just suddenly dawned on me that you didn’t mean if “Only if Rimmer tries to bang it.” August 10, 2024 at 5:00 pm #297468 Future Producer of Series IX – aaaaany day nowParticipant August 11, 2024 at 9:33 am #297486 FormicaParticipant — alternate cut: — August 11, 2024 at 11:56 am #297489 WarbodogParticipant August 12, 2024 at 12:37 am #297508 TechnopeasantParticipant Beavers and pussy jokes?! September 20, 2024 at 8:13 pm #298440 Ben SaundersParticipant The trailer for XII came up in my Facebook memories today, and in it (and I assume the episode proper), Rimmer calls Planet Rimmer “this gas moon”. How are they standing on a moon made of gas? You can chalk him calling it a “planet” up to ego, but I think I’d be able to tell the difference between rock and gas if I attempted to stand on a big ball of it. One tiny flaw in an otherwise watertight episode. September 20, 2024 at 9:46 pm #298442 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant I don’t think the implication is that it’s made of gas, just that it has a lot of it. September 20, 2024 at 9:47 pm #298443 Flap JackParticipant Doug making a reference to gas giants, without realising a gas based moon wouldn’t be so easy to stand on? Once the leading Blackadder fan site decides to make it? September 22, 2024 at 4:45 pm #298461 TechnopeasantParticipant There is a GIFGlobe for Father Ted and Black Books though. September 22, 2024 at 5:51 pm #298464 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant Does Rimmer really believe Motörhead to be classic alongside Mozart and Mendelssohn? or is he confusing people from history like he does Colombo/Columbus September 22, 2024 at 7:24 pm #298465 DaveParticipant Does Rimmer really believe Motörhead to be classic alongside Mozart and Mendelssohn? January 26, 2025 at 7:13 pm #302238 JenuallParticipant Probably been asked and answered many times before, but why was George McIntyre – a “flight coordinator” – the person who was receiving Rimmer’s reports about Lister? Surely chain of command should have had whoever was first technician or some other engineering oversight/management responsible for this? January 26, 2025 at 8:04 pm #302239 DaveParticipant Maybe on their ship Flight Coordinator was a fancy name for HR. January 26, 2025 at 8:31 pm #302240 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant Maybe on their ship Flight Coordinator was a fancy name for HR. Part of co-ordinating the flight could be managing personnel. A sort of mix of HR and general departmental management would make sense. All departments report to George, and George reports to Hollister and Todhunter the fact George was sitting on Rimmer’s reports suggest he knew they weren’t worth passing on and wasting the Captain’s time January 26, 2025 at 9:59 pm #302244 TechnopeasantParticipant January 26, 2025 at 10:55 pm #302247 RudolphParticipant Maybe Rimmer was so incompetent he filed his complaints to the wrong department. January 27, 2025 at 6:20 am #302259 DaveParticipant January 27, 2025 at 6:58 am #302261 MoonlightParticipant I can’t get over how non-corpsey he looks on the Blu-ray there. January 27, 2025 at 8:22 am #302263 DaveParticipant I thought the same thing. It’s one of the more regrettable changes as I always liked how grey he seemed. January 27, 2025 at 11:19 am #302271 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant Presumably the decided to bring him inline with Rimmer who isn’t grey, military, ocean or otherwise January 27, 2025 at 12:17 pm #302272 DaveParticipant Presumably the decided to bring him inline with Rimmer who isn’t grey, military, ocean or otherwise January 27, 2025 at 12:22 pm #302273 JenuallParticipant Yeah I can accept that perhaps Flight Co-ordinator is just a fancy way of saying “HR” in the JMC world. I always had it down as being something more technical and involved with the actual journey itself – planning and preparation for their flight path, ensuring all risks have been identified and accounted for, co-ordinating with the rest of the ship to make sure every department is aligned, monitoring the journey as it progresses etc. – all of which, as far as I am aware at least, is more in line with what the role is here and now on things like commercial air travel January 27, 2025 at 1:40 pm #302275 International DebrisParticipant I always thought Flight Co-Ordinator was just a higher level technician, probably Rimmer’s boss. That, or he just sent his reports to every officer on the ship in the hope someone would take some notice of him. January 27, 2025 at 1:57 pm #302277 JenuallParticipant Rimmer is 100% the kind of guy who would CC everyone in to his shitty emails January 27, 2025 at 2:46 pm #302280 DaveParticipant Rimmer is 100% the kind of guy who would CC everyone in to his shitty emails January 27, 2025 at 4:53 pm #302282 JenuallParticipant January 27, 2025 at 5:15 pm #302283 Quinn: Clochebusters World ChampionParticipant January 27, 2025 at 5:25 pm #302284 DaveParticipant Author Replies Viewing 50 replies - 1,301 through 1,350 (of 1,388 total) 1 2 3 … 26 27 28 Scroll to top • Scroll to Recent Forum Posts You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
