LIVE DwarfCast TONIGHT, fabulous interviews to be heard featured image

As you all well know last night saw the fan première of Trojan.  It was a great night and the audience were, shall we say, incredibly receptive to the episode.  The whole shebang was very ably presided over by Paul Ross (who at one point inexplicably referenced Jim Reaper!  Either this man is a proper fan, or he’s very good at researching what he’s talking about) and we were treated to a very nice Q&A with Robert, Craig, Chris and Doug in what I can only imagine was a slightly sozzled state.  We’ll probably be covering this a little more once we’re able, but for now we have something a bit more pressing to attend to…

As usual, we never pass up an opportunity to stick a mic in people’s faces and get some exclusive interviews, and we managed to record chats with Bill Pearson, Doug Naylor and Craig Charles which we’ll be including in tonight’s Instant Reaction DwarfCast.  Oh, and by the way we’re going to be broadcasting live.  LIVE.  From 10 tonight.  Ian, Danny and I will be presiding over a discussion of what the hell we’ve all just seen, including your comments and reactions.  We’re counting on you to tell us what you ‘reckon’ in the broadcast discussion thread we’ll be posting up later today, and through Twitter.  It’s all fairly terrifying, but I’m sure we’ll get through it, and I can only apologise in advance for anyone we accidentally (or deliberately) libel.  We’ll be posting the link to our feed later on, so I hope you’ll be joining us in this ridiculous endeavour.

Good luck, everybody, here it comes!

  • I’d love to hear this but will hopefully be streaming Trojan through Dave’s site at 10.

Will this be up to listen to after the live feed has ended?

  • I think Paul Ross actually said “Jim Reaver” but, even so, he was obviously a proper fan. He’s still a a bit of a twat though.

Muchos looking forward to the Radio show.

Ah, yes, good point. It’ll be available to listen again through the streaming service we’re using, and we’ll also be packaging it up and releasing it on the normal DwarfCasts feed at some point in the next few days.

Where on the Dave site will this be do you know? Only I’m stumped if I can find a Dave equivalent of iPlayer.

I have no idea. I’m sure it will be clearly signposted on their homepage once it’s up. They have previously said it will be available to stream on their site from 21:40 tonight.

  • That’s my black and white striped shoulder in the background to the right hand side :D

That would be my grinning face next to it then :)

  • And here I am on the opposite side of the world, not able to listen to this live, lest I spoil the show for myself.

Does anyone want to buy me some airplane tickets, preferably for three days ago so I can get there. Oh, and somewhere to stay too. Does it help if I told you that I’m the Duke of Manchester?

  • I won’t be listening at 10pm, as I’ll be watching RD again with my brother, who wants to come across and watch it on my telly, without my mum moaning and tutting through it. He can’t come across and watch it at 9, as I’ll be watching it ON MY OWN. That’s what I do when I really want to watch something. :)

Can’t Cate Blanchett buy you a ticket then ???

  • “I thought that was Cappsy?”

He was, once upon a time. Let’s just say there have been…more than a few.

I also do cover for Napoleon Bonaparte on weekends.

  • Cool. Glad it’s listenable again. As I will site watching the show about 10.30.

i’ve been having dwarf dreams all night, im that excited, though none of them seemed to be about actually watching the show, the bits I remember were about doug in a wig starring in deleted scenes playing an annorack character.

Thanks very much, I was hoping it’d just be a case of how they were sticking the trailers up. Plus, I’d not read or heard anywhere about them saying it would definitely be available to stream so thanks for confirming, much appreciated.

I had a dream last week that I was in new Red Dwarf as a regular cast member. I kept telling Doug it was a terrible idea but he wouldn’t have it. I didn’t get to see how it turned out but I can imagine that it would have been terrible.

I also had one months ago about a new Red Dwarf where they went back to earth and it looked like a ruined future. Post-apocalyptic stuff. It looked incredible. Effects wise it was just absolutely ridiculous. It’s amazing what the mind can do.

Are you sure you didn’t recently watch the end of Army of Darkness?

  • Is it still on DAVE at 11.40pm? im working until 10 so going to miss the first showing. (ill probably catch it on the site when i get home) but id like to see it on the telly too

  • On TFS there is a lovely fanmade mock up of the ‘alternative’ RDX dvd cover id love it to look like that

  • ) Im not watching it. I only enjoy the bald guy and the woman.

    Patrick stewart & ainsley harriot?

  • >Towards the end of the run, especially after Naylor’s split from co-creator Rob Grant, the show became over-concerned with being science fiction

Yeah, Krytie TV was far too complicated.

  • I’m just excited because if I can actually watch newly-aired Dwarf in real time, it’ll be the first time ever … and I’ve been a fan for almost two decades. LOL. It’s about time.

You should continue broadcasting all the way through to 11.40pm – and then as soon as Dave begins showing the repeat, you can turn your discussion into a commentary! ;-)

That’s actually a really cool idea. Not that you have to keep talking through until then, just commentate on the repeat.

  • I have to say that, despite any technical issues you may have had, I thoroughly enjoyed your DwarfCast and I think you all deserve a lot of credit for deciding to do it in the first place, not to mention the tenacity you showed during the technical hiccups. The interviews were excellent and there were entertaining and thought-provoking moments throughout. Thank you. I look forward to the next one.
