Buckley. Vegas. George. Partridge? Find out tonight.
For those of your hankering for a bit more out of your Friday updates will be pleased, as we’ve just been hit with not one but THREE exciting cast announcements for XII. A common theme of Dave-era Dwarf is the very high quality of the guest casting so seeing our first proper glimpse of that is very exciting, especially when we’re dealing with such household names. Piccies and thoughts after the jump.

Anyone who’s been playing GameDigits’ episodic installments of their Red Dwarf XI mobile game are probably starting to wonder where the Krysis episode might be. At the time of writing it’s been around four and a half months since Officer Rimmer released and given episodes prior to this were put out roughly two months apart, and with Series XII rapidly approaching, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the entire thing might’ve been dropped.
Well, according to a Tweet from the official GameDigits account, there’s nothing much to fear. The Red Dwarf XI game still lives but will be on hold while work moves over to a new, free, Red Dwarf XII game. Read more →
You may remember towards the end of last year a certain packaging based faux pas appeared to confirm the episode titles for a series of Red Dwarf that was almost a year away from broadcast. GNP did state at the time that these weren’t necessarily final, after a nifty wordsearch based treasure hunt on Twitter this morning, we finally have confirmation of the final Red Dwarf XII episode line-up.

The gradual ramp up to Red Dwarf XII‘s broadcast continues, with the official Twitter account today teasing us ever closer to the inevitable climax with a Tweet containing a lovely picture of what I believe is a new look bunk room console. Also included is this beautiful close up of the ship schematic (click for an embiggened version)…
I’m not sure what an “Artificial Grave” is but I take a strange comfort in the fact that it is only at 19%.
While it’s no guarantee, I think this tweet further points to the likelihood of a a proper ramping up of details about the new series, maybe even as soon as this very Friday. Until then, and as first brought to our attention by Si Bromley, the latest issue of SFX features a four page piece on the Red Dwarf XII sets so while we’ve not got our hands on a copy of this yet, this should nicely pass the time until we start getting more news. Maybe then I might actually start believing we’re actually getting a new series and finally snap out of this post-XI haze…
It’s faintly terrifying to think that it’s already been two years since the last Dimension Jump convention, but apparently it has as evidenced by the fact that it’s all happening again this weekend. As we speak Fan Club organisers, attendees and guests alike are hurtling towards the best Dwarfy weekend the world has to offer.
Unfortunately the G&T contingent will be limited to two solitary souls this time round, but I’ve been reliably informed that Ian and Danny will welcome any hellos, drinks and / or hugs if you see the beardy Yorkshire behind the sound desk or the non-beardy Brummie behind the camera. As usual they’ll be doing their best to keep you informed over Twitter if anything big hits over the weekend and of course a DwarfCast will follow a few days later provided everyone involved hasn’t died.
The remaining sad sacks here at G&T will watch from afar but we wish everyone on the Fan Club team the best of luck over the weekend and also hope anyone going along has a great time. You lucky, lucky bastards.
It’s been a little while in the making but GameDigits have now returned with a pretty huge update for the Red Dwarf XI mobile game. Once again, I decided to record my attempt at a blind playthrough and my musings on the update in general.

It’s been a little while since GameDigits treated us to the last content update for the Red Dwarf XI mobile game, but those of you desperately waiting to play the Officer Rimmer version of PAC-MAN need wait no longer as the next big update has rolled out onto Google Play and Apple App Store – also heralding a return to the launch price of $£1.99. A few days ago the ever reliable GameDigits delivered to us a fine Christmas present in the shape of their Give & Take update for Red Dwarf XI: The Game. It has ended up being an incredibly pleasant way to close out a year that’s been stuffed full of Red Dwarf activity and so I have once again recorded my first playthrough of the entire episode, along with my own brand of unfocused and unprofessional commentary.

Well, Ian GameDigits promised us that Give & Take, the next playable episode of Red Dwarf XI: The Game, would be released this month and that does indeed seem to be the case. After some initial concerns about the slow roll out of content I’m actually enjoying the pleasant surprise that each new update brings, and we now get to enjoy playing through many people’s favourite episode of the series while drinking eggnog and wearing our hilarious Christmas jumpers.

Even after Red Dwarf XI has long since been broadcast, the mobile game that first launched alongside Twentica continues to recieve attention, with the first big content update in the shape of the Samsara episode being released last week. I decided to play through the lot and record my thoughts as I went, which might be of questionable worth but at least it’s better than reading any form of news site or social media right now.
