Considering how good the production seems to largely be in these two series, the music edit was actually appalling to the point of necessitating some sort of explanation. And that explanation is that, in my humble opinion, we are hearing the temp tracks they added early in the edit and were supposed to replace with Howard’s new music but never got around to it before the edit was locked. It’s the only explanation that makes even a little sense, and it still requires excessive incompetence. So they were gonna sort it out in the dub?
