UPDATED 21.30 - ROBERT LLEWELLYN CONFIRMS NEW SERIES COMMISSION

Hard to believe it's almost two years since Headfuck Monday, isn't it? But, while we're a long, long way from such things occurring yet again, today has at least given us cause to suspect that the next twelve months are going to see Dwarf news a-plenty - and with reports coming out from one source before being not-undenied by another, we're getting those first shivers of excitement as word starts to spread and threaten to overtake us. Let's stop, then, and recap.

Dimension Jump attendees have just been the first to be informed - by Doug Naylor, via email passed on by Andrew Ellard - that Dave have commissioned six new episodes of Red Dwarf for broadcast in late 2010.

Also, it's been hinted that (a) there may actually end up being more than six, depending on budget; and (b) it'll probably have a studio audience.

Right so. There's going to be a piece on Dwarf on Points of View this Sunday, 14th October at 5:10pm. You can watch the video here. It's a great idea, but unfortunately, the video itself is a bit rubbish. It fails to mention the reason we're all campaigning for a ninth series now - the "no longer interested in the audience" quote. It says "look at the viewing figures"... but doesn't say what those figures were. Combined with the seemingly random images and bored-sounding delivery, I reckon it'll do the cause more damage than good. But we can fix this...
