I was already scared enough of the Disney film, so that pushed me over the edge. I sat and watched it, during a new years dinner with parents friends, on a tiny b&w TV in the dining room while the adults were chatting. The first half is on YouTube and it still is strange imo. Flashes of Five hating his companions, and lashings of his companions hating each other. A sickeningly sweet wrap-up ending reminiscent of the Pertwee era. The least convincing giant snake ever televised. Matthew Waterhouse “acting”.
