Now that embedding images isn’t a herculean task requiring a master’s degree in computer science, I figured we ought to finally have one of these on a site where such esoteric bullshit would be welcome.

I’ll start, because that’s how this sort of thread always works. Keep up.

(My lookalike font is a bolded, mildly blurred Courier New, in case anyone wants to run with this template. The minor blur helps the added text look less conspicuously sharper than the original image.)

I can’t tell if the image not loading is intentional or not.

    Oh smeg, they’ve memed me.

The way the smegadrive links are built *should* prevent this from happening. So, er, I guess I’ll try and fix it.

Now let’s not anyone panic, but it seems that a few older Smega-Drive generations have just reached the end of their shelf life – and this meme now makes even less sense.

And yes, the funniest part of this is that “super-injuction” is trending almost as much as “super-injunction” at the moment.

Been playing a lot of old school Doom recently so this came to mind.

Wait, there are people who only sometimes play old school Doom?

Unless you mean that re-release shite, in which case you’re dead to me. :p

The newest release is fine I think, unless not having the red cross on medikits is a deal breaker for you.

I only played Gloom. I remember it having the gore options ‘meaty’ or ‘messy.’

I’m basically on a constant loop of playing classic Doom. The most recent releases (packaged as Doom 1 + Doom 2) are pretty solid but I still tend to go for community source ports most of the time when playing (PRBoom, Chocolate Doom, DSDA, or GZDoom where something more advanced is required)

I could play Doom forever 😍

    And blink-182

Later releases has to edit it out. So a Geneva Convention breaking edition of the album is quite sort after as it’s from the first run.

    What’s wrong with re-release Doom?

It is at best redundant for a game which has had source ports since the code was released in 1997, outside of perhaps modern console releases. At worst it is actively taking attention and resources AWAY from the community that has sustained the game all these decades, without giving back its own changes (they even reverse engineered the Boom and MBF map formats to sidestep the GPL). And it only supports Windows on PC, not MacOS or Linux or your toaster.

You are very much alive to me Jenuall. I roll with Crispy Doom most of the time.

I played through Gloom earlier this year. There is now a source port for modern computers called ZGloom following the source code being released by original developer Mark Sibley. I also played Project Osiris, which recreates the Amiga first-person shooter Alien Breed 3D for GZDoom.
