G&T is a website dedicated to the BBC2 sci-fi comedy series Red Dwarf. And, if you needed the fact that Red Dwarf is a BBC2 sci-fi comedy series explaining to you, then you’ve come to the wrong place, frankly. The site is written, designed and maintained by two long-term Dwarf experts from Internetland, whose aim is to bring you up-to-date news, in-depth guides and strongly-worded opinion pieces. As well as eventually providing astonishingly detailed capsules for all 52 episodes, we also aim to be the web’s #1 resource for all information pertaining to the excellent DVDs and the forthcoming movie. Our favourite colour is orange. We hope you enjoy reading the site, and that you’ll re-visit us regularly. If you have any comments to make on the site, then contact us. Only, try not to use the word smeg more than three times in the same sentence. WEBSITE NEWS… News Posted by Ian Symes on 7th March 2003, 00:00 This very website is featured in top Red Dwarf publication Better Than Life, in #44 that reached fan club members in the UK this morning. Internet Correspondant Debs gives the site four stars overall, and particularly praises the originality and in-depth content, adding: “if you have a list of Red Dwarf sites that you visit regularly, I definately recommend that you add this one to your list”. To read the full review, you’ll have to join the fan club, which you can do via their website. Incidentally, in case you were wondering why updates have been irregular and sparse since the Series II DVD release, it’s because the site is soon to be relaunched, in collaboration with John Hoare, who some of you may know as ‘moss’. If John knows nothing else, (which he doesn’t), it’s Red Dwarf and computers, so exciting times are ahead for Ganymede & Titan fans!
Red Dwarf DVD – Series 2 Review Reviews Posted by Jonathan Capps on 28th February 2003, 00:00 As with Series I, Series II was eagerly anticipated and pre-ordered from Play as soon as it was listed. I'm not sure if this puts you on the top of the pile for despatch for what, but for the second time I received my DVD on the Saturday, a whole two days before the release date. Marvelous. This suited me down to the ground as I was attending the official launch on the Monday so I was able to get some good watching in before hand. Read more →

The only survivors are the crews of long-haul space freighters that left Earth before the conflict began. The Sapienoids send forth fleets of Death Ships to hunt them down. One by one, the human ships fall, until only one remains. It’s name – RED DWARF” Frankly, I’ll believe it when I see it. If this is genuine, it’s a bit of a shock. What Doug Naylor is doing is taking the characters and placing them in a completely new situation. This will work if the characterisation is as good as it is from Series I-VI, but if it is like the last two series, it won’t be Red Dwarf at all. Naylor did warn us that the movie would be going in a completely different direction to the series. He wasn’t lying. But is it just a very elaborate hoax? * ‘Winchester Films presents…’ – The official site says the movie is to be made by Red Dwarf Films * ‘KOCHANSKI: Lister’s dead girlfriend.’ How would this fit in with the new plot? * Doug Naylor is stated as being the TV series director. While he did co-direct half an episode in Series V, this is not something you’d put on a poster. * Chris Barrie has Blackadder III in the brackets after his name. Why would they include a tiny guest appearance, but not long-running series like The Brittas Empire, Robot Wars and Scrapheap? * The fan club bit gives the wrong URL. The address changed about a year ago – there’s no way a poster that old would have only just been released. * I can’t read much of the other stuff, but I can see that the release date of the American DVDs is wrong. Whether this poster is genuine or not, this is a startling piece of news, and once again Ganymede and Titan is the first fan site to report it.

Series II DVD Review Reviews Posted by Ian Symes on 10th February 2003, 00:00 For the second time in just over four months, I set my alarm from half seven to make the journey to my local Woolworths; a journey that is as much spiritual as it is physical. My palms were sweaty, knees weak, arms were heavy. There was vomit on my sweater already - mum's spaghetti. I was nervous, but on the surface I looked calm and ready to, um, buy a DVD.
