May 2019. Broadcunting House lies abandoned, a layer of dust coating its various microphones, laptops and indigenous cats. Suddenly, a door opens, a switch is flicked, and a light bulb slowly stutters into life. From the shadows emerge four mysterious, yet sexy, figures. An ancient warning system is triggered, issuing a familiar call to arms. "Awooga", it cries, "this is a DwarfCast". And it bloody well is. It's only the third one since Series XII finished, and the first regular episode commentary that we've bothered to release since September 2017. We are back.

Script Extracts: A Glimpse of a Shadow featured image

Well, in the absence of any Series XIII news, and with no Bluray until the new year, we're scrabbling for crumbs. We'll take whatever morsels of intrigue are thrown our way, but when our friend and loyal G&Ter Jonathan "Jonsmad" Young recently got in touch to draw our attention to The Prop Gallery, we didn't realise how intriguing these particular morsels would turn out to be.

It's one of those places that sells props, costumes and other film and TV memorabilia, often at somewhat eye-watering prices. In the past, such items have included Red Dwarf scripts, and a quick search reveals that twelve have been sold in total. They're all long gone now, but the listings remain online. As well as providing details of their condition and provenance - many have come from the personal collection of the late, great Peter Wragg - what we're really interested in are those tantalising images of sample pages.

High & Low: Special Effects featured image

Of all the difficult tasks I have faced whilst writing Ganymede & Titan, this has to be one of the most difficultistestist. Even more difficult than writing an article which doesn’t manage to be spectacularly rude about somebody for very little reason. How the bloody hell do you manage to boil down the quite staggering amount of amazing special effects work for Red Dwarf into one easy-to-digest Top 10 list?

Answer: with a lot of kicking, screaming, self-doubt as to the worth of my entire life, and general dissatisfaction. Hopefully that’s sold this article as something well worth reading. Let’s get on with it, shall we?
