Dave’s Red Dwarf XI Bank Holiday Monday Features Posted by John Hoare on 4th January 2017, 14:43 "Now on Dave, it's time to sit back and relax this Bank Holiday Monday, as we bring you an afternoon in the company of the finest smegheads out there - with the complete series of Red Dwarf XI." – Dave continuity announcement into Twentica, 2nd January 2017 Most people, when greeted with a continuity announcement like that, might think: "Oh, that's good, I get to half-watch all of Red Dwarf XI this afternoon whilst pretending to get some work done." Or perhaps: "I hate Red Dwarf, Red Dwarf is shit, I am going to turn over, I need to watch anything other than Red Dwarf because I don't like Red Dwarf." Us? We clap our hands in delight, as we indulge in one of our favourite pastimes: pre-watershed Red Dwarf edit spotting. Although perhaps to our surprise, only two of the six episodes had any alterations whatsoever: Twentica, Officer Rimmer, Krysis and Can of Worms got away cut-free. Red Dwarf XI: The Game – Samsara Playthrough Reviews Posted by Jonathan Capps on 9th November 2016, 12:34 Even after Red Dwarf XI has long since been broadcast, the mobile game that first launched alongside Twentica continues to recieve attention, with the first big content update in the shape of the Samsara episode being released last week. I decided to play through the lot and record my thoughts as I went, which might be of questionable worth but at least it's better than reading any form of news site or social media right now. Yes, we’ve got a video! News Posted by Jonathan Capps on 4th October 2016, 15:18 Ah, the BBFC, they’ve served us so well over the years, with episode title reveals and confirmations of DVD extras aplenty. As expected the forthcoming DVD and Bluray release has now been through classification and so all episodes and extras can be found on their website. I’ll be keeping this rundown spoiler neutral, although be warned that some of the BBFC’s notes might reveal details about the rudeness levels of future episodes. Continue reading →

Red Dwarf XI: Samsara Review Reviews Posted by Ian Symes on 26th September 2016, 13:05 In the few days since Samsara was released online, the reaction seems to be mixed to say the least, with opinion split on whether or not it was better than Twentica. Some people are calling it a highlight of the Dave era, and some people are calling it an absolute stinker, although admittedly the majority lie somewhere in the middle of these extremes. Nevertheless, any review is naturally going to met with disagreement from one side or the other, so here's the deal. If you liked Samsara, then the bits that have you nodding with agreement mean that your goodwill will be punished with bits that will make you angry. And if you hated it, all the insults you fling at me for being wrong will be rewarded by the time you reach the end. For I believe that this episode is a perfectly balanced mixture of equal parts great Red Dwarf and terrible Red Dwarf. Let's go back to the beginning to explore why... Read more →
Let’s Talk About Samsara (on UKTV Play) News Posted by Ian Symes on 23rd September 2016, 08:31 Twentica? Twentica was a week ago. We’re far more concerned about the quite hilarious things that happen in Samsara. Yes, with the first episode safely broadcast in a linear manner, it’s time for episode two to spread its wings and fly to On Demand Land. We’d kind of expected it to go online immediately after broadcast, until Dave clarified last night that they were waiting til Friday morning. We’re massively on board with this; it helps to keep things clean by holding back the new episode until we’ve finished discussing the last one. Anyway: EDIT: COME ALONG, EVERYBODY! IT’S HERE! IT’S IN ORBIT! Discuss away below, and we’ll be along with some Talking Points for you later today. And thanks to all those who listened live to our Twentica DwarfCast last night. We were a little rusty in places, but we soon remembered how tremendously fun the experience is. Same time next week, yeah?
