I was all for saying people were being a tad harsh with their comments but, upon closer inspection…oh dear.

I am talented at putting autotune on my vocals and making it sound natural, unlike the stupid X Factor production team.

Normally I’m crap at the Countdown letters game, mostly 5s or 6s for me (on a good day…), but I reckon I could stretch to the odd 8 or 9 for the lovely Rachel.

    > The only threesome I’d ever want to be in.

Seconded. Well, maybe I’d stretch to Rachel Riley and Susie Dent in Dictionary Corner…

Surely she’d be a bit of a letdown after being with the gorgeous redhead above…

    > but then again they have recast Kochanski

The original Kochanski wasn’t a main cast member whereas Chloe’s was, for two series’.

It’s obviously a joke, Danny taking the piss. Though there’s no way Lister would be recast, regardless of the situation. If Craig didn’t want to/couldn’t do it you might as well forget the whole thing OR write Lister out. The same applies with any of the four boys.

The balloon floating in to old Ellie’s bed…for me that is the single best moment in Up and maybe any Pixar film.

    > And the moment when Andy finally lets go. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

That’s such an amazing moment because it’s raw, emotionally true, something every person can feel and relate to. Even if the rest of the film didn’t affect someone they’d have to be coooold not to at least well up in those final minutes.

Pixar really know how to get you right there… The opening 5-10 minutes of Up, for example, so beautiful and poignant, and most of it a montage without dialogue.

    > it’s not the best film of 2010. Toy Story 3 is.

No arguments there, though Inception gives a it a bloody good run for its money.

My opinion of singles like Tsunami has changed so much over the years. I used to hate it, maybe because my mum liked it and the other singles from that album. Surely your mum’s not supposed to be into a band who sing about anorexia, prostitution and Trotsky… Now I’d listen to Tsunami over most of the rest of the tracks on This Is My Truth…, though I’m Not Working and My Little Empire are my favourites.

    > the Manics proved with Send Away The Tigers that they are still capable of producing fantastic albums.

I liked it but no way is it better than the 3 records you mentioned. Also, Journal for Plague Lovers eclipsed it IMO, the perfect antidote to the big bombast Manics stuff like ‘Autumnsong’. Considering SATT was obviously supposed to be a more immediate and commercial record it took me ages to get into it at all compared with all of 2 seconds it took with Journal… I hate ‘Winterlovers’ and that pointless cover of ‘Working Class Hero’. They could have covered ANYTHING for a secret track so why the heck that? And it’s a naff version too.

Bar the odd track I reckon ‘Lifeblood’ is really underrated. The ‘…Richard Nixon’ single was definitely one of their biggest wtf moments (bet Sony loved that one!). ‘1985’, ‘I Live To Fall Asleep’, ‘To Repel Ghosts’ etc. are ace. I thought the b-sides of that era were fantastic as well.

Wow. You can understand why it didn’t last long though, a load of people playing the Mario games, how can you make a show out of that??

    > Sony must be pretty excited by the new album.

Well so am I. As long as there’s better material than ‘It’s Not War…’ on it. It’s the kind of Manics track I hate where I only want to listen to it a few times, you know you’re not gonna get anything else out of it. Considering they’re one of my favourite bands it saddens me that there’s so much more I’d rather listen to before putting them on. Including the new Tom Jones Praise & Blame album and Eliza Doolittle (who I love!).

They did the angle on Reynholm at the start better.

Right, I’ll give them that. But because it’s not Chris Morris it’s not funny!

Wow no wonder it never got greenlit, everything bar Richard being hella awful. Neither Roy or Jen work for me. Their characters need to be more different to the originals and, for the love of the gods, recast! I mean, the woman playing Jen isn’t even nice-looking, let alone funny enough to make it work.
