Alongside the current 35th anniversary poll, the G&T community is embarking on a big old rewatch, tackling half a series (or one feature length special) per week. This is your designated thread to make notes, share observations and start pondering your rankings. This week, we’re watching CURED, SILICONIA and TIMEWAVE. Have at it! November 12, 2025 at 1:19 pm #313380 DaveParticipant achieved disproportionate fame outside of Rainbow. AKA the Ritchie Blackmore manoeuvre. November 12, 2025 at 10:19 pm #313399 International DebrisParticipant I never knew Blackmore’s Night were that famous. November 12, 2025 at 10:27 pm #313402 WarbodogParticipant Dio’s probably the Rod in that situation. The worst said was that it was a bit weird. Do you think it’s the kind of thing you have to see the final edit to realise? The worst said was that it was a bit weird. Do you think it’s the kind of thing you have to see the final edit to realise? If I remember right there actually was an incredibly negative set report from that recording which suggested it was a debacle. Edit: found it, in the comments here. November 13, 2025 at 9:17 am #313424 Ian SymesKeymaster That guy was a complete bellend. He may have had some valid criticisms of the episode, but they were wrapped up in so much ill-informed nonsense that he probably just got lucky with the ones that rang true. I did get told privately after the recording, by more than one audience attendee, that it was very dodgy, veering towards homophobia. I obviously didn’t want to report that until we’d seen the final episode. November 13, 2025 at 9:39 am #313425 UnrumbleParticipant My Grandad used to tape loads of R, J &F for us, formative part of my early childhood. I’m sure he’d have been horrified at Red Dwarf. November 14, 2025 at 2:26 am #313457 MoonlightParticipant I think the real point of interest is how correct this comment ended up being a decade later.
