I only know Leyton November 12, 2020 at 11:23 pm in reply to: Your Popular Red Dwarf Opinions #263118 ARossiEsquireParticipant Red Dwarf is a sci-fi sitcom October 23, 2020 at 10:43 pm in reply to: The Orville #262748 ARossiEsquireParticipant Found it very meh. Enjoyed the characters but can’t remember their names, and only episodes I remember are “the one that was like Black Mirror” and one where they’re marooned and the robot babysits two kids. Ship has an interesting design though, I’ll give it that. Also it ripped off a Space Corp Directive joke at one point. Good old unoriginal MacFarlane… October 23, 2020 at 10:32 pm in reply to: Life Imitating Red Dwarf #262747 ARossiEsquireParticipant I once got very drunk and took home a traffic cone. Don’t think that’s exclusive to Red Dwarf though. September 24, 2020 at 7:07 pm in reply to: Bootleg Merch #261803 ARossiEsquireParticipant What did you all have of the original 90s T-shirts? I had the Ace Rimmer one but always wanted Let’s Get Out There And Twat It, (but was forbidden due to the rude word.) Only a couple of tees, Smoke Me A Kipper and the Smeg Head logo. Mum wouldn’t let me have any with swear words on (even though 13 year old me argued that oral sex could be “another way of saying discussing gender”) September 17, 2020 at 8:13 pm in reply to: Jokes you don't/didn't get #261641 ARossiEsquireParticipant My 12 year old self never understood the context of the “who fancies a kebab?” line from Only the Good. Only managed to join the dots after the first time I got properly drunk a few years later. The whole time I just thought they were making a jab at crap food. Christ that was the worst thing I’ve ever said. September 5, 2020 at 4:26 pm in reply to: Idea for an episode. #261362 ARossiEsquireParticipant CUTTY RANKS FOR THE MEMORY Lister is declared “much worse than Hitler” after playing jungle music at 3 o’clock in the morning. September 5, 2020 at 2:16 pm in reply to: Idea for an episode. #261357 ARossiEsquireParticipant SPANKS FOR DE EMMONY Obvious joke writes itself with less than humorous results September 5, 2020 at 11:24 am in reply to: Worst episodes of series 3-5? #261350 ARossiEsquireParticipant III – Very hard to choose, this being the first series of Dwarf I watched, but probably The Last Day. Not that it’s bad, just not as memorable as the rest of the series (in my opinion, at least) IV – Meltdown. Most of my reasons are the same as yours, a couple of funny gags but it ultimately just falls flat for me, I tend to skip this one. V – Demons and Angels, just for the tarantula scene. I’m fine with bugs, but I remember watching that and nearly being sick. September 5, 2020 at 9:53 am in reply to: Red Dwarf VIII is flawed #261339 ARossiEsquireParticipant Until Back to Earth, this was the only series made and broadcast in my lifetime. Feel quite ashamed of saying that… On the whole I’m fairly mixed on it. There’s the odd funny gag but it really doesn’t feel the same as the rest of the show (also is it just me, or does the colour palette just seem too yellow? That was my main takeaway when I rewatched it earlier this year) September 2, 2020 at 12:46 am in reply to: Who has has a Red Dwarf dream? #261246 ARossiEsquireParticipant Ooh, I’ve had some odd ones (in general) but a couple Dwarf related ones come to mind:- -Watching the Red Dwarf movie which had a laugh track and Rimmer saying “Fuck no” after the rest of the crew rescued him from being kidnapped (can’t remember the exact circumstances) -When Series 10 was imminent, dreamt that the school bully had review copies of the episodes which I found after I’d broken in to his house for whatever reason. No idea what any of my dreams mean to be honest, they’re worth writing about on their own. August 31, 2020 at 12:49 pm in reply to: The Curse of Mr. Bean (thoughts) #261193 ARossiEsquireParticipant Always loved the Turkey on Head skit from the Christmas special. Through reading this thread,I only just found out about them reusing it in the movie’s American release – I also remember where he wins the turkey by subtracting its weight from his own – which was also removed from future releases. What was it about this turkey that demands removal? (I also watched one episode of Friends – the only episode I’ve watched – where they rip it off. 7 year old me was unnecessarily pissed off at that) August 23, 2020 at 3:15 pm in reply to: The Best Bits of VIII #261112 ARossiEsquireParticipant Lister’s bit about the 83 year old actor was actually quite funny imo August 9, 2020 at 3:11 pm in reply to: good or near-perfect line readings? #259991 ARossiEsquireParticipant “And that includes the time it took to eat the PIZZA!” Author Replies Viewing 18 replies - 1 through 18 (of 18 total)
