    Cheers,

I think the Oompa Loompa line might work better. Well, Oompa Loompa or Munchkin.

Again, I think the BBC Four joke is a little too ‘now’ and Cat wouldn’t have any idea about it. Yes, I know Kryten made a similar joke about Channel 5 during the 10th Anniversary Smeg-Ups, but C5 is just a universal joke. Perhaps something like “A doorway to a shell suit/flares convention?” or something similar might work. Not that I profess to know the first thing about scriptwriting.

P.S. – Cheers for the MST3K appreciation, Dr. Forrester was by far the best Mad. “Push the Button, Frank!”

Cat’s quip about the Bush Administration is wrong for his character. Remember, this is the sort of guy who is completely uninterested in anything except his clothes, his hair and eating.

Plus, the joke’s been done to death. Yeah, yeah Bush is an idiot, blah, blah, Iraq War. It’s too much of a ‘now’ joke for ‘Red Dwarf’.

If you want to keep it in though, give it to Rimmer or Kryten. They’re the sort to know their history and politics.

Also, the Billy Barty joke is too obscure and again wrong for Cat.

I actually let out a bit of a chuckle at the Hot Dog gag. I’m impressed. Keep up the good work.

After seeing some of the truly mental fans who showed up at his trial, I expect we’ll be seeing a few Jacko related suicides over the next coming weeks.

I’m rather pissed off that my brother’s first thought was “I’m gonna be rich”.

He’d bought tickets to see one of Jacko’s gigs that has now, obviously, been cancelled. Apparently rich dickheads are buying up tickets for thousands. My brother believes there’s a collectors market.

    > David ?I?m such a twat I can?t even spell Williams? Walliams for his downward spiral.

Pedant mode: His name is Williams. He had to take Walliams as there is already a David Williams on the Equity members list. Same reason Julian Pettifer took Barratt as his surname, to destinguish himself from the reporter Julian Pettifer. And David ‘David Jason’ White.

When he was sentenced to Stasis it was only due to breaking quarantine regulations and refusing a direct order from the Captain.

When he went to The Tank it was for breaking quarantine regulations (bringing Cat and Kryten onboard), theft and destruction of Space Corps equipment (stealing and crashing a Starbug as well as severely damaging the recreated Holly), flying without a pilot’s license (Lister and Cat) and hacking confidential information (giving Rimmer access to the Captain’s confidential files).

I’ve found that if upset enough I do like to get rat arsed, as I get a sense of the problem going away.

My dad’s an alcoholic and despite enjoying my alcohol responsibly 90% of the time I’m worried that I may end up like him.

There were no shots that weren’t from Sam Tyler’s POV in ‘Life on Mars’. One of the reasons John Simm called it a day was, because every scene needed to have Sam in it, he spent the longest on set. It led to late night finishing and early starts and Simm probably felt a little tired out from it all. Plus, he probably would have liked to spend more time with his family.

However, in ‘Ashes to Ashes’ there are a number of scenes that don’t involve Alex (one that springs to mind is Ray, Chris and Shaz going through Gene’s bin in the office whilst Alex and Gene are out playing Scooby-Doo. Though apparently this was to stop Keeley Hawes having to go through the same grueling schedule that tired out John Simm.

P.S. – One thing that I never understood was why Sam (or indeed Alex given her interest in Tyler) never checked police records to see if there were a DCI Hunt, DS Carling or DC Skelton working for Manchester CID in 1973.

Patrick Stewart? He can out-bald Norman Lovett any day.

Though I’d like Hattie back. She didn’t do too badly in ‘Ace Rimmer: A Life in Lame’

Yeah – I noticed the sergeant stripes, cheers!

I’ve been making notice of the differences between his new and old jacket. It seems to have a few less patches than the original III – V one. Again, much appreciated p2p.

Incidentally, a year or two ago I did spot what was purported to be Lister’s keyring for sale on eBay. It was a hologram of Saturn (or a similar planet with a ring around it). Hope that helps anyone!

p2p – I love you and want to have your babies. Thanks for this!

And Lister wears the jacket inside to look cool. It may make him sweat like a pig and smell disgusting, but at the end of the day he looks cool. And that’s all that really matters.

OK, if I can track down one more patch I’ll be happy to make a start on this.

There patch is on his left breast on his jacket in ‘Back to Earth’, but in Series III – V it looks to be a largeish blue circle with a large gold/yellow triangle on it.

Any help would be much, much appreciated.

Kryten probably took the time to study Rimmer’s Hardlight Bee during his medical in ‘Rimmerworld’, indicated by him discovering the flaw in it.

Or he swiped a couple of spares before leaving Legion’s space station.

Or the salvaged some spares from the remains of Starbug.

I would have thought the joke about there not being an actual parrot onboard would stand out in peoples minds rather than a piece of background decoration.

The fact that Norm was present at Danny?s verdict kinda gives me the impression they aren?t at odds

why do I have the image of Norm standing at the back of the court in a black hood holding an executioners axe and with a large grin on his face?

So this ‘hostility’… what is it?

I think on a documentary or interview Craig said that he really didn’t like Chris to begin with and apparently the feeling was mutual. However, by the time it came to Series VII they had grown up, moved on and were on friendlier terms.
But they also admitted that not being ‘bestest ever pals’ probably helped develop the mutual dislike between Lister and Rimmer.

I kinda liked the episode where they parody Apple and Steve Jobs.

“You think your cool because you buy a $500 phone with a picture of a fruit on it? Well guess what – they cost $8 to make and I pee on every one!”
