May 11, 2024 at 9:03 pm in reply to: Your Red Dwarf Art #294953 PodeyParticipant Good stuff. May 11, 2024 at 2:32 pm in reply to: The Gallifrey Gals’ own thread #294945 PodeyParticipant May 11, 2024 at 8:07 am in reply to: The Gallifrey Gals’ own thread #294935 PodeyParticipant Epideme is brills, though. I am truly baffled by this take. It’s a top 10 episode for me! Maybe even top 5 but that’d probably be my contrarian mode going into overdrive. I get why people find the voice irritating though I never did, but around that you have some really good jokes, some genuine peril and consequence and everything doesn’t just reset at the end. Plus I thought there was some good character building stuff around Kochanski, the dynamic she has within the crew just works in this one. May 10, 2024 at 6:14 am in reply to: The Gallifrey Gals’ own thread #294882 PodeyParticipant Epideme is brills, though. May 9, 2024 at 9:01 pm in reply to: Unanswered Questions #294865 PodeyParticipant I think it’s good. But then I like dramady Dwarf. Gets lost in the middle a bit but I really like the premise. May 8, 2024 at 9:28 pm in reply to: The Gallifrey Gals’ own thread #294823 PodeyParticipant (oops, I missed their update that there’d be no episode this week) May 8, 2024 at 8:25 pm in reply to: Things you only noticed on re-watches (preferably hard to spot ones) #294821 PodeyParticipant QuEGG, like a bird’s EGG. May 8, 2024 at 8:12 pm in reply to: Unanswered Questions #294820 PodeyParticipant Do we think that they will ever resolve the Kochanski plot thread set up in Back to Earth? It’s weird because I’ve always felt that Chloe has earned the closure and I hope it happens but I also sort of don’t really want to see it and I imagine, if they do bring her back, she will be written off for good by the end. May 8, 2024 at 8:05 pm in reply to: The Gallifrey Gals’ own thread #294819 PodeyParticipant I realised today that Gallifrey Gals’ Red Dwarf reactions are the nearest thing I have to “appointment telly”, as I’m always waiting impatiently for them to drop come Wednesday evening. May 8, 2024 at 7:16 am in reply to: The Gallifrey Gals’ own thread #294801 PodeyParticipant GG’s comments threads are also full of 8 apologists, TBF. I’ve seen more than one claim it’s the best series! May 8, 2024 at 7:16 am in reply to: The Gallifrey Gals’ own thread #294800 PodeyParticipant I definitely liked 8 more at the time of airing, though I was only about 16. I could always tell the vibe was different though. May 7, 2024 at 6:05 am in reply to: The Gallifrey Gals’ own thread #294748 PodeyParticipant So, uh, has anybody watched any of GGs’ other series? Worth it or does the novelty drop when they’re not doing RD? What is the “novelty”? May 6, 2024 at 6:05 pm in reply to: The Gallifrey Gals’ own thread #294732 PodeyParticipant There’s also two of them. I can enjoy single-person reaction videos fine but it’s fun to hear thoughts and ideas bounced around off two people and some of the pre-show nattering. Another American reactor I like is King Boomer, he’s done lots of classic British comedy and I think he’s reacted to a clip or two from RD but it’d be fun if he did the whole show. May 6, 2024 at 7:45 am in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294718 PodeyParticipant May 3, 2024 at 3:28 pm in reply to: The Gallifrey Gals’ own thread #294627 PodeyParticipant I think this is possibly the only forum on the internet where the idea of a thread entirely dedicated to discussing two female YouTubers doesn’t fill me with dread so there’s that. April 30, 2024 at 6:32 pm in reply to: Selling an original Smegazine page. #294550 PodeyParticipant Royal Mail nearly lost it, thought Ian may have intercepted to prevent the spreading of spoilers for a second. April 25, 2024 at 7:57 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294480 PodeyParticipant Interesting that the Gals think Kochanski will leave at the end of the series. I mean, they’re only one series out before that does happen but still. April 25, 2024 at 4:16 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294475 PodeyParticipant Bless the Gals for making predictions as if any of this is going to be resolved in any way. Now I’m not going to act like it’s definitive – “a few weeks” could mean anything, it could be literal or it could be a facetious way about talk about a long time, plus not everybody always tells the truth in dreams, but it does put something of a slight crimp on any Eighteen Months Later explanations that fall between Ouroboros and Blue. And bless us for trying to figure out this show’s continuity as if it has any… April 25, 2024 at 1:18 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294471 PodeyParticipant It’s interesting in terms of just being something they didn’t do but Kochanski isn’t really presented as being vain or anything in the same way that Cat is so it wouldn’t make sense for him to see her as a rival and it does make sense for him to want to impress her. April 23, 2024 at 8:19 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294434 PodeyParticipant I wonder if Kochanski’s crew also had an altercation with their future selves that resulted in absurd “dimensional anomalies”, or if in that scene she’s secretly thinking “Uterine simulator… ? It’s a shuttlecraft???”. Kochanski’s crew were still on Red Dwarf rather than stranded in Starbug, according to unused effects shots: We don’t know if our Starbug has a synthetic womb aboard that they used, but let’s face it, it does. I always took Kochanski’s surprise that they’re on Starbug when she wakes up as an indication she came from Red Dwarf. April 21, 2024 at 8:53 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294380 PodeyParticipant Let’s not even get into the fact that that “Eighteen Months Later” caption is over a scene that takes place three million years before. Make that make sense. April 18, 2024 at 7:29 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294260 PodeyParticipant They did explicitly say they love reading all the trivia that people post in that new episode, for what it’s worth. April 18, 2024 at 7:05 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294258 PodeyParticipant Is that Paul Whitehouse? From Harry Enfield and Chums (or one of those shows), I’d guess. The other bloke is Enfield. April 18, 2024 at 7:19 am in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294240 PodeyParticipant There is usually some trivia thrown about but I don’t really watch enough to say if it’s more or less than average. Some of it does remind me of #DwarfFacts…. April 17, 2024 at 8:57 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294226 PodeyParticipant They didn’t really say if they liked it or not but I think they did? Laughed plenty throughout. Unfortunately their comments about what they like and dislike about Kochanski’s portrayal doesn’t bode well for series 8…. April 16, 2024 at 11:04 am in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294164 PodeyParticipant Well, you see, the thing about black holes… https://www.google.com/amp/s/news.sky.com/story/amp/black-hole-thats-33-times-bigger-than-the-sun-found-lurking-undetected-close-to-earth-13116094 April 10, 2024 at 9:14 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #294019 PodeyParticipant The series 7 streak is broken but I do wonder if they’d have enjoyed this just a little more had they watched the version with a laugh track rather than Xtended. April 8, 2024 at 8:10 am in reply to: Dedicated ‘Spaced’ thread. #293927 PodeyParticipant April 7, 2024 at 6:23 am in reply to: Dedicated ‘Spaced’ thread. #293902 PodeyParticipant I’ve always preferred series 2 to be honest, but then I saw that first, which is often how that goes with your preferred iteration of a thing. April 6, 2024 at 7:49 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #293886 PodeyParticipant Yes. https://www.ganymede.tv/forums/topic/dedicated-spaced-thread/ April 5, 2024 at 8:18 am in reply to: Unseen Bottom #293831 PodeyParticipant Have people read Ade’s book? April 5, 2024 at 5:23 am in reply to: Mundane observation dome #293823 PodeyParticipant Some wildly incorrect stuff gets said in their comment sections. Just seen a bloke saying the reason 7 is hated is because it was originally aired without any laughter track and that failed so badly it was dubbed in for all subsequent releases… unless this is my Mandela Effect, it most definitely was aired with the laughter track, right?! April 4, 2024 at 8:12 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #293799 PodeyParticipant I honestly would struggle to pick a top 3, in seriousness, I think it’s more that I have a top however-many that are always in positional rotation. April 4, 2024 at 8:03 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #293798 PodeyParticipant Not one of my favourites but then I love series 7 so what do I know. April 4, 2024 at 10:08 am in reply to: Mundane observation dome #293782 PodeyParticipant I think they’re going to like Kochanski’s addition. I also think they’re going to hate the casual (and at times not so casual) sexism in 8. I’ve really enjoyed their reactions, it’s worth going back if you’re so inclined. I remember they were very impressed by how progressive Parallel Universe was in its commentary on gender dynamics, for the time period. April 4, 2024 at 8:31 am in reply to: Mundane observation dome #293777 PodeyParticipant April 3, 2024 at 6:32 pm in reply to: The Worst of Red Dwarf Memes #293768 PodeyParticipant What the actual fuck is that last Kryten, when was that taken Series 8, he’s standing by that big door the dino indented. Think this image was on the back of a BTL or something, I remember seeing it A4 sized. March 29, 2024 at 6:59 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #293655 PodeyParticipant There’s also the added element of old man Lister from ‘Future Echoes’ having a robot arm, which potentially plays into our Lister losing his. Hopefully the gals will pick up on that as they saw it so comparatively recently. March 28, 2024 at 8:06 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #293640 PodeyParticipant Not gonna lie, I bloody love Epideme, annoying game show voice and all. March 27, 2024 at 10:49 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #293626 PodeyParticipant Gallifrey Gals have started series 7 and they liked Tikka To Ride a LOT. Even talk of it being in their top 3 episodes so far. I think they’re going to like a lot of this series and, as a series 7 apologist, this makes me very happy! March 14, 2024 at 6:12 pm in reply to: The Dog. #293243 PodeyParticipant Dog may or may not get appear in a Smegazine strip at some point. March 3, 2024 at 7:21 pm in reply to: Lie mode engaged. #293025 PodeyParticipant I’m looking forward to all the memes about urine recyc. February 11, 2024 at 2:47 pm in reply to: Could a regular non-chef could ever learn to cook rice as neat as Ainsley’s? #292549 PodeyParticipant I thought the trick was just to nick his when he wasn’t looking? February 9, 2024 at 6:15 pm in reply to: Unseen Bottom #292513 PodeyParticipant I just read Ade’s autobiography a week or two ago, highly recommended. Set me off on a bit of a Bottom rewatch… including watching The Youngs Ones for the first time! February 7, 2024 at 9:32 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #292491 PodeyParticipant Yeah but water is *on earth*. It’s not like they’ve found water buffalo on mars. ….. yet. February 7, 2024 at 9:19 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #292489 PodeyParticipant Just a thought…. does the existence of space weevils negate the idea that no alien life exists in the RDU? Presumably the fact they’re called “space weevils” imply they are not from Earth? 🤨 February 7, 2024 at 7:21 pm in reply to: Mundane observation dome #292487 PodeyParticipant Looks like another cast reunion is going to happen at Liverpool comic con as Craig, Danny and Chris have been announced this week. Presume Robert is to follow. February 6, 2024 at 6:16 am in reply to: Lie mode engaged. #292461 PodeyParticipant I’m very excited about John Robins being on the next series, he’ll make for great entertainment value (and is about as close as we’d ever get to Alan Partridge doing it, probably). February 5, 2024 at 6:59 pm in reply to: Lie mode engaged. #292451 PodeyParticipant My pedantic nitpick with WILTY is that “This is my” is called “This is my” even though the contestants don’t say “This is my”, they say “This is [name]”. It should be called “Who am I?” or something like that. Author Replies Viewing 50 replies - 401 through 450 (of 578 total) 1 2 3 … 8 9 10 11 12
