Thanks for the link – I enjoyed reading that blog! Have now bookmarked it and await their next installment! I have only seen from series 1 to 20 – can’t wait to watch the rest!!!

I like ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ (have only managed to get series 19 and 20 on dvd via the UK, so now I have from series 1 to 20!) – is there a ‘First of the Summer Wine’? Tell me more? Going by your comment, I could take it as sarcasm and assume it is crap?

We never had ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ on tv here (Australia), as far as I know. I had to hear about it through others. So all info is good.

Oh yeah, and don’t laugh at my naivety!

I really liked the first Blues Brothers, and think I started to watch the second one but never finished watching it. The soundtracks are great! My kids really love the first Blues Brothers. I think I just liked John Belushi (loved him in Animal House!!!) and Dan isn’t too bad an actor either!!! :0)

Thanks for the heads-up Jo. Well, they ‘may’ be famous over there, but I have only heard of two of them: Heidi Fleiss and Sisqo. Never heard of any of the others!!

I look forward to getting a full account of happenings, etc from you guys as we don’t have BB in Australia at the moment (and didn’t watch it when it was shown here – find it much more interesting reading about it from you guys!!).

Ahhhh – even the advert for it had the same shot as Red Dwarf floating slowly past in space. I haven’t been able to make myself watch it as yet, but I will try for the sake of science…..

    I will ‘try’ and watch it – although I can’t promise anything…….

Okay – now, Hyperdrive has only recently started here in Australia, but once I saw the adverts for it, I thought “Rip off!!!” and couldn’t bring myself to watch it. I try and change channel when the adverts come on!

I’m guessing from others comments that Hyperdrive is a rip off from Red Dwarf and stole some episode ideas.

    Very sad…..

I don’t mind ‘Only Fools and Horses’. ‘Allo ‘Allo is sometimes funny. I watch Keeping Up Appearances at night when I can’t sleep. Although I find some things funny, it’s a sure thing to put me to sleep!!!!

I got Benny Hill, Open All Hours and The Young Ones. Wildcard was Do Not Adjust Your Set.

I really like Open All Hours and The Young Ones. Don’t find Benny Hill that amusing at all. Never seen ‘Do Not Adjust your Set’.

I have lived in Sydney! Make sure you do the touristy things if you can. The Opera House is rather interesting, but visit Chinatown and King’s Cross (go during the day – it’s a whole new world that’s scary at night!).

I live in South Australia, basically in the Barossa Valley (wine country – yay!). I come from New South Wales though.

I think Jo will be extremely busy! She said she would email me if she gets a chance, but she is probably busy running around making sure everything is running smoothly and without a fault. That’s our Jo!

    I wish I was there…

I love vegetable curries! My hubby and kids eat meat, but it’s veggie for me!

I will let you know if I hear anything. I think I’m the only team member not attending (I live in Australia), so have asked the team to email me when they can.

I eat veggie all the time – since I’m vegetarian!!

I’ve asked the team to provide me with updates, but I guess they are too busy! Last I heard, things were going well but busy – not surprisingly though considering the amount of people that are attending this year!!!

    Hey Si !

I’m not there either, but I’m wearing my DJ shirt, and have just filled my glass up too. Shall I have one for you as well?

When you send your next message (as I’m sure you will !!!), make sure your face is in the light. Your face was in shadow, so I still don’t know what you look like!!!

I, personally, thought he was fine – didn’t take much notice of the rape thing (got virtually no coverage in Australia anyway, so only read what was sent to me from the UK), but have to say that in some of the early docos on the dvd’s he sounded ‘displeased’ with RD fans.

In the last few, and BTE, he seems to have recovered the faith in fans. Maybe he realized that they would always be there and supported him through all his ups and downs – quite a humbling experience I would think.

    Go Craig!

I won’t be able to attend this year (not happy….) but I know that everyone will have a fantastic time! The team have put in a great deal of time and effort to make sure all fans, and special visitors, have a great time!!! Jo, don’t forget to get my list from me!!!!

I wonder if we could ever have some sort of convention in Australia…….?????? :0)

Hope you are feeling better soon! We’ve managed to avoid it so far, but there have been about four cases of students at the school I teach at getting it – all under the age of 8 years old!!!

Think of it as time to catch up on all the viewing you hadn’t had time for..

Very good !!! Lovely summaries and I can picture things in my head (although I have no idea what these people actually really look like – and don’t want to!! I sorta like my visions of what they could look like!!!).

When is the final nominations/end show?

Thanks guys!!!! Keep the updates coming in!!

I would just like to pop up here…

We don’t have Big Brother here in Australia at the moment (thank goodness), and after a couple of showings of the first Big Bro, I couldn’t stand it anymore (didn’t do anything for me and I couldn’t stand watching ‘non-scripted’ people sit about, show off for the camera, or just be gits).

However, saying that, I am loving this thread (probably because to me it isn’t ‘real’)! It’s like reading a drama that I don’t have to watch!!! Much, much more entertaining!!! Thanks for keeping us all informed!!!!

I’ll go back to hiding now……..

I also love British ‘sitcoms’ – although we don’t always get them here in Australia. I have masses of comedies on dvd – even those I hadn’t seen previously (but sounded good or had heard about). I would love to write a comedy sitcom, but know I couldn’t. I’m more used to writing historical articles and works!

I don’t like American sitcoms (just can’t get into them – Scrubs is about the only one I can watch), and Australia doesn’t have much to offer either – although we do have a few funny people/shows (Kath & Kim comes to mind, although I don’t really watch it either).

Although ‘sitcoms’ does not necessarily mean comedies, I don’t watch much else!

Just my five cents worth (the saying should be two cents worth, but we don’t have two cent coins anymore and haven’t for a long time!!).
