November 12, 2009 at 6:09 pm in reply to: What’ve I missed? #105995 JamesTCParticipant The colour orange was deemed too offensive by the BBC. November 11, 2009 at 10:58 pm in reply to: Sex in Doctor Who #105947 JamesTCParticipant ‘The TV Movie’ is the first time the Doctor kisses a woman (the second Doctor kissed Zoe in ‘The War Games’ though not on the lips). Romana and the Doctor sort of had a romantic relationship, never had a real hint on screen and it may be that Tom and Lalla being engaged seeped through on screen but I think you could see a bond there which is suprising for the Doctor. He does indeed get engaged in ‘The Aztecs’ but he didn’t mean to, the wonderful line always comes to mind “I made some cocoa and got engaged”. November 9, 2009 at 11:46 pm in reply to: Armstrong & Miller Mention #105892 JamesTCParticipant I once mentioned Red Dwarf. November 9, 2009 at 3:10 pm in reply to: Torchwood #105852 JamesTCParticipant That was Rickey November 9, 2009 at 11:35 am in reply to: Torchwood #105848 JamesTCParticipant >What is it with RTD and women treating their puppydog men badly? It isn’t limited to women, look at Jack going off with John while he was with Ianto. It just seems like all the likable characters (Mickey, Rhys, Ianto) just get treated like shit by the people who are meant to be the main good guys, I don’t like that. The TARDIS opened and it turned the Slitheen into an egg that didn’t fart. November 8, 2009 at 9:17 pm in reply to: Dave’s Red Dwarf ECP #105826 JamesTCParticipant I wonder why they concentrate on Series VI so much, is it in any way cheaper to show clips from that Series to others? They did it with the All the Shows boxset ads they put on around the time of the BTE broadcast, it was all Series VI stuff, could just be a lazy editor who only felt like sifting through a couple of episodes. November 8, 2009 at 8:30 pm in reply to: Craig Charles unlove #105821 JamesTCParticipant I Saw What Your Final Destination Was Last Of The Summer Wine. November 8, 2009 at 12:38 pm in reply to: Universe Challenge #105805 JamesTCParticipant I would have gotten a numberplate with my name on it but they were all out of Bort as usual. November 8, 2009 at 12:36 pm in reply to: Torchwood #105804 JamesTCParticipant >whereas the dr always saves the day and everyones a happy chappy Unless you are in the Peter Davison era. November 7, 2009 at 1:36 am in reply to: Torchwood #105772 JamesTCParticipant One thing I don’t understand is that people were angry after and wanted them to bring Ianto back to life, I really don’t understand why they would want that to happen, makes me wonder what will happen after ‘The End of Time’ at the end of this year, tens of people campaigning for RTD’s head until the Doctor unregenerates into David. November 7, 2009 at 1:32 am in reply to: Torchwood #105771 JamesTCParticipant I really didn’t expect Ianto to die, even with the rumours floating about, I even made a post on here saying something like “I doubt they would kill Ianto” the day before. It was a very good moment, no quick fix with bad sci-fi to save someone, just a death, a great moment and a great end for the character. After episode 5 though I kind of wish Ianto returned as a zombie and used his magic zombie powers to save the day. November 6, 2009 at 9:17 pm in reply to: IGN review Back to Earth on Blu-ray #105753 JamesTCParticipant I think they meant to say Doug Garcia. November 6, 2009 at 8:14 pm in reply to: Torchwood #105748 JamesTCParticipant Rose is the Rani. And don’t be crazy, the Doctor can regenerate, if he couldn’t then the theory of him being the Rani couldn’t be true and as we all know, the Doctor IS the Rani. I heard a rumour that Ianto is the Rani and that he has regenerated into Jack who is laos the Rani and that actually all that time Jack was going out with himself, I mean I don’t know how we didn’t realise before. Oh and you are the Rani. November 6, 2009 at 7:46 pm in reply to: Torchwood #105746 JamesTCParticipant As I say I haven’t listened to the commentary, I haven’t even listened to the DVD commentary (and I doubt I ever will, much better stories waiting for a listen) but it says this on Wikipedia – “In the episode’s commentary, writer Russell T Davies called the implication of Jack’s nickname (“the Face of Boe”) “a theory” as to the Face of Boe’s origins, prompting Executive Producer Julie Gardner to urge him to “stop back-pedalling” about the two characters being the same. Davies then mentioned the addition of a line in “Gridlock” in which the Face of Boe calls the Doctor “old friend”, suggesting a strong connection between him and the Doctor.” November 6, 2009 at 7:19 pm in reply to: No internet and no keyboard makes Dan a dull boy… #105740 JamesTCParticipant I got it before, I tried playing ‘Stand by Me’, I would pick one of the fastest paced Oasis tracks wouldn’t I? November 6, 2009 at 7:17 pm in reply to: Torchwood #105739 JamesTCParticipant >He?s aging, altering, despite the immortality He is also dying despite the immortality. November 6, 2009 at 6:42 pm in reply to: Torchwood #105733 JamesTCParticipant >You think RTD wrote that line not realising the connection? I think he written it to add a little joke to the end. Besides how the hell is Jack meant to turn into a big face in a jar and then die? He can’t die, he is a fixed point in time, if his head was cut of then his body would slowly grow back (like in COE when he grew all his skin back). November 6, 2009 at 6:17 pm in reply to: Torchwood #105728 JamesTCParticipant >Optional downloadable commentaries can?t be taken as an official answer, though – it can be the writer?s intent, but if it?s not denied onscreen, then it?s fair game. What if it wasn’t confirmed on screen? I mean coincidences happen, a race of Cybermen were created in our universe on our twin planet Mondas yet in another universe another race of Cybermen were created on an alternative earth and that universe was then linked to ours, a very big coincidence there so Jack having the same name as a head in a jar wouldn’t be very strange. I don’t think we know enough for or against Jack as Boe right now, I don’t think we ever will, it was just a throwaway line/joke. November 6, 2009 at 4:32 pm in reply to: Torchwood #105718 JamesTCParticipant >> even though it?s not 100% that he is the Face of Boe >I?d really like to know what people base this on?aside from ?plausible deniability?. It?s right there in the dialogue, surely? Is the response ?Yeah, but there might be another Face of Boe – one Jack, like, gave his name to!?? I’ve not listened to it but I think the podcast commentary released after it has RTD saying it is just a joke/theory, I’m sure you can find the cast on the official website. November 5, 2009 at 9:33 pm in reply to: IGN review Back to Earth on Blu-ray #105680 JamesTCParticipant >Oh dear. I guess everyone at GNP has already cleared their desks by now, then? Yep, they are moving to a bigger office to write that show set in the cold, lonely and icy vacuum of space. November 5, 2009 at 9:29 pm in reply to: Doctor Who In An Exciting Adventure With The Spoilers #105679 JamesTCParticipant From what I have seen from the ‘Dreamland’ animation it looks good and bad, the voice work is top notch (David Tennant and Voice work = epic win) but the animation looks over ambitious and just not very good, still the animation isn’t what will make the story, it is the acting and writing that will and we shall see what that is like, up to now I think it looks promising. November 4, 2009 at 11:38 pm in reply to: Better than life #105627 JamesTCParticipant Yeh, they’ve changed the name to Series One, Better than Life sounded like an ageing brand. November 4, 2009 at 11:36 pm in reply to: Doctor Who In An Exciting Adventure With The Spoilers #105626 JamesTCParticipant It was pretty good. Shame that it had to end with that giant duck knocking 4 times asking for oasis. I actually remember falling asleep with that episode on in the original night, I was rather young then. November 2, 2009 at 12:26 pm in reply to: Doctor Who In An Exciting Adventure With The Spoilers #105490 JamesTCParticipant Doctor Who: Twat Starring Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. Written by Stephen Moffat. November 1, 2009 at 8:58 pm in reply to: Doctor Who In An Exciting Adventure With The Spoilers #105480 JamesTCParticipant Oh and it was confirmed by the Moff that he is writing 6 episodes in the new series, the same amount as he written for the previous 4 series, wonder if they can be of the same quality as the previous 6 being that they arn’t spread out. He is also currently writing episode 13. November 1, 2009 at 8:56 pm in reply to: Doctor Who In An Exciting Adventure With The Spoilers #105479 JamesTCParticipant Yeh, it isn’t confirmed as a two-parter. I really do hope they are stockpiling scripts for Series Two, I heard Rob Shearman has written a script and he is such a good writer, if it wern’t to appear in Series One then it would in Series Two. Come on Rob write another classic, you have already done it four times (‘Jubilee’, ‘The Holy Terror’, ‘The Chimes of Midnight’ and ‘Dalek’). November 1, 2009 at 11:20 am in reply to: Doctor Who In An Exciting Adventure With The Spoilers #105473 JamesTCParticipant Moffat has stated they called it Series One because Series 5 sounds like an ageing brand (which is odd considering the fact that it is nearly 50 years old). You can call it what you like, Season 31, Series 5, but I will call it what it is actually called, now I have to go and watch ‘The Daleks’ and ‘The Edge of Destruction’ and ‘Rivers Run’. October 31, 2009 at 11:23 pm in reply to: Doctor Who In An Exciting Adventure With The Spoilers #105469 JamesTCParticipant He is writing a two-parter in Series One according to his CV. October 31, 2009 at 11:07 am in reply to: Potential Red Dwarf US Dwarfcast? #105461 JamesTCParticipant I hold a grudge and they cancelled My Name is Earl. October 31, 2009 at 1:07 am in reply to: Doctor Who In An Exciting Adventure With The Spoilers #105457 JamesTCParticipant According to an insider the Ice Warriors appear in it but half way through turn into the Rani who then is unmasked as a puppet of the Cybermen whose creation were manipulated by the Ood to lead to the events in the story happening, plus the Ood were created by the Rani and the Rani is the Doctors mother on his human side and the Master is his father. Sounds good. But really I like the hints up to now that the Doctor is turning a bit different, almost rogue going by the hints, maybe he will finally be the no second chances Doctor!
