February 16, 2010 at 12:50 am in reply to: 22 today, and all that… #108808 clemParticipant My first episode was Parallel Universe. I reckon it must have been the 1994 repeats. I think I only saw from when Dave Lister wakes up with Deb Lister, so I can’t possibly have had a clue what the hell was meant to be going on. IIRC, the next episode was shown a week or maybe two weeks later, and of course it looked vastly different than Parallel Universe. I wonder now how on Earth I ever became a fan, because I must have been really confused, and yet I was hooked pretty much straight away. Anyone here see the original broadcast of The End? February 12, 2010 at 4:39 pm in reply to: The Dwarfers do ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for Comic Relief (1993) #108778 clemParticipant That is brilliant. February 12, 2010 at 2:47 pm in reply to: The Dwarfers do ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for Comic Relief (1993) #108775 clemParticipant I can’t hear or read Fenella Fielding’s name without imagining her as the voice of The Time Vagina in a fictional Carry On film from the TV Go Home book. February 11, 2010 at 11:51 pm in reply to: The Dwarfers do ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for Comic Relief (1993) #108769 clemParticipant Apparently they did write a fourth series of Bottom but it was turned down by the BBC. It was “rejected by some lesbian bitch” according to Rik Mayall. February 10, 2010 at 11:39 pm in reply to: The Dwarfers do ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for Comic Relief (1993) #108743 clemParticipant > Isn?t it strange that Brookside (R.I.P.) and Emmerdale Farm were represented, but EastEnders and Corrie weren?t? That does seem odd. ‘Emmerdale Farm’ had already been shortened to just ‘Emmerdale’ by then. 1989 apparently. Bloody hell I feel old now, because I can remember it still being ‘Emmerdale Farm’ February 10, 2010 at 12:35 am in reply to: The Dwarfers do ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for Comic Relief (1993) #108721 clemParticipant Good old Rob McElwee really going for it with his air guitar at 3:45 there. Somehow. Yes. I would absolutely love a Mugs Murphy t-shirt. Do people want the DVD cover art to look like it did in Back to Earth? Looked a bit dull to me, to be honest. Would something similar to the 8 series DVDs be inappropriate? Lister painting the Rovers Return? March 2, 2008 at 7:52 pm in reply to: Funny Stuff What You Done Found on The Interweb #121078 clemParticipant http://tailsteak.com/arbuckle/index.php?date=060107 “In 1978, Jim Davis began a newspaper comic strip called “Garfield”. For almost thirty years, this strip has endured, primarily because its inoffensive, storyless humour is immediately accessible. It is, if not quite the Lowest Common Denominator of the comic world, at least as close to it as one can get without being obviously mediocre. The comic changes dramatically when one removes the thought bubbles. “Garfield” changes from being a comic about a sassy, corpulent feline, and becomes a compelling picture of a lonely, pathetic, delusional man who talks to his pets. Consider that Jon, according to Garfield canon, cannot hear his cat’s thoughts. This is the world as he sees it. This is his story.” Author Replies Viewing 21 replies - 3,201 through 3,221 (of 3,221 total) 1 2 3 … 63 64 65
