For me, the closest I’ve heard to the original. Most of the others I’ve seen on YT seem to be imitating the Radio Show version – still great, but not as good, IMO.

So, does that mean there were 49 copies that went out in stores and SFX kept one for the comp, or 51 including this one..?

    >Nope, but the remastered one would make a smashing corkscrew.

Actually, that’s not a bad idea. The Corgi model has a hole on the underside to accomodate for a small plastic stand. Bet you could glue a corkscrew in there.

That’s almost word for word what Hattie and I discussed (and what led to my previous ‘Holly Lolly’ post that’s also around here, somewhere).

Mine’s signed by Danny. There was a Kryten version and a Red Dwarf version too (pencil type, although a classic version was also planned).

Yeah, agreed. The BtE blue looked just a shade too bright for me. In all fairness though, it must be a tough material to light, being so reflective.

Just noticed this. In the picture on the right, there is a new Kryten action figure! It’s not the Sevans model, and I don’t think I’ve seen it before.

On the left pic is that rather fantastic Kryten mask for anyone who missed it, and also in the right one is, I believe a Japanese fan next to the SFX mag.

SerieX: Episode 1: Holly has dried out, but when the crew attempt to reboot, an unexpected glitch forces his physical appearance to seemingly change at random.

That way, we could get a hundred new Holly’s in one ep.

…Yeah, Bill Bailey would be great! “Oh, uh, space weevils, blimey, ah…” etc.

Yeah, Hattie’s the most logical choice now. I’d love to see her back, too. If Norm were to return, I wouldn’t be against it. Especially if they shared the role.

Nope. But then to me, in the ep, they pretty much looked like inserted pages – the laminated look gave it away. Anyone else notice that Mr. Flibble was mentioned in the text? ;-)

Yeah, I’ve always liked Alien 3, but that might have something to do with the order in which I saw the films. For some bizarre reason, I first saw Aliens, then Alien 3, then Alien.

Much like Doug with BtE, you have to admire Fincher for putting together a film like that, bearing in mind the constraints he was under at the time (they started filming without a SCRIPT).

The story is mostly in keeping with the previous films. The visual design/FX are good. The music/sound is original/innovative.

Overall, I have to say, I still enjoy it. Better than Resurrection, IMO. Though I’m sure the original concept of Vincent Ward’s ‘wooden world’ would’ve been more critically acclaimed – but maybe not as ‘exciting’ in sequel terms.

It took the crew a while to accept the despair ink ‘reality’ before Holly intervened, so maybe time is a factor.

I think if each character’s ‘perfect’ fantasy had materialised too soon, their immune respsonse would’ve kicked in earlier, therefore rendering the ink useless.

Remember, this is the squid’s DEFENCE mechanism. The thing only needs a certain ammount of time to escape from a perceived threat.

…Still not sure how Rimmer got infected, though. Sure, Kryten has organic components, but holograms too?

    >the series ends with rimmer waking up discovering he has dreamed the last 2 series while unconcious.

Funny, for a brief moment, that’s how I thought BtE was gonna end. They’d wake up on Starbug with Hattie at the end of BtR and Series VI, VII and VIII would have been ‘all a dream’…
