AND IT’S AS HOT AS MY PANTS!!! April 14, 2009 at 8:50 am in reply to: Video – My take on the Carbug montage… #96526 p2p_productionsParticipant >I?ve changed the music of the montage when Carbug is making it?s way to Coronation Street. That’s exactly the music I was thinking, Danny. It works, but I do really like the track in BtE, too. …If they’d had the money/time, maybe they could’ve gone for a heavy metal Corrie theme. ;-) April 13, 2009 at 9:09 pm in reply to: The song when the Carbug heads for coronation street… #96420 p2p_productionsParticipant Yeah, the lyric ‘I’m the magnificent’ appears in the track. Probably why they got it confused with Special Ed. >I remember Duct Soup ending on BBC2 with Lister?s promise to introduce Kryten to a ?red hot brandy?. Tell me about it. If I recall, one of the Star Trek: Voyager subs back in the day read, “Engage manoeuvre, on mega tree”. April 13, 2009 at 9:01 pm in reply to: The song when the Carbug heads for coronation street… #96418 p2p_productionsParticipant Yep. Subtitles definately say ?I?m The Magnificent? by Special Ed. Any idea why? April 13, 2009 at 8:59 pm in reply to: The song when the Carbug heads for coronation street… #96417 p2p_productionsParticipant Hang on, it’s coming up in a minute. I’ll double-check the subtitles. April 13, 2009 at 8:53 pm in reply to: The song when the Carbug heads for coronation street… #96415 p2p_productionsParticipant According to the subtitles, it’s ?I?m The Magnificent? by Special Ed. I think. Hopefully, the TOS Music Library list will be updated for BtE too. Personally, I dug the dimension cutting track. April 13, 2009 at 7:01 pm in reply to: Dwarf Runner #96398 p2p_productionsParticipant >If we don?t get a die-cast Carbug, I shall honestly CRY. Just in case we don’t, I’ve seen a couple of green Smart toy cars on eBay. Stick a couple of fins on the top, some eurostile extended decals on the side and Bob’s your skutter. April 13, 2009 at 5:58 pm in reply to: Dwarf Runner #96370 p2p_productionsParticipant So, are we getting any of this stuff, Andrew? I see the Carbug model has black trim, so is probably a custom model in itself, but even still… Also, why does that Sevans Kryten have an orange dot on his monitor? April 13, 2009 at 5:40 pm in reply to: Dwarf Runner #96365 p2p_productionsParticipant >Surely that should be Carbug instead of Starbug? Yeah, couldn’t find a high-res pic of it moving at the right angle. April 12, 2009 at 12:37 pm in reply to: Lister’s Jacket #96087 p2p_productionsParticipant Some details here: http://www.ganymede.tv/forum/2009/02/listers-jacket April 11, 2009 at 10:06 pm in reply to: BtE merchandising #95948 p2p_productionsParticipant >No point. There would be no Norman Lovett action figure and without that, the entire merchandising process would be pointless. Actually, Hattie and I once briefly discussed Holly merchandise. We eventually settled on ‘Holly Lollies’. April 11, 2009 at 9:48 pm in reply to: BtE merchandising #95943 p2p_productionsParticipant Ah, man! I almost said a foam Kryten mask when asked earlier, and there was one in the comic shop. Oh, well. Still want one. :-) >An original shaped Red Dwarf ship, in a descent scale! Great idea. Like a replica of Hollister’s ‘paper weight’ from The End complete with glass dome? …Or what about my very own, personal Gaspazcho Soup bowl? April 11, 2009 at 2:17 pm in reply to: BtE merchandising #95819 p2p_productionsParticipant Here’s the shirt again for anyone who missed it: A die cast Carbug would be great! It’s unlikely, but I’d love a companion CD with the music. A Rimmer’s ‘H’ through the years display, perhaps? April 10, 2009 at 6:20 pm in reply to: Who’s *avoided* watching any RD in the run up to tonight? #95727 p2p_productionsParticipant Me too. Haven’t watched a single ep. It’s the extended version, I think, with the two extra verses. For the radio shows if I recall..? April 9, 2009 at 12:28 pm in reply to: TORDFC – Back to Reality Magazine #95476 p2p_productionsParticipant Mine just arrived. Looks fantastic. March 26, 2009 at 5:24 pm in reply to: Dave on Youtube. #94621 p2p_productionsParticipant New trailer up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a12PtRJmtmQ&fmt=18 March 26, 2009 at 4:18 pm in reply to: Alien Quadrilogy for £13 #94618 p2p_productionsParticipant >the Alien franchise ain?t really the place for primitive satire and self-referential nods. Well, one thing the Alien franchise was certainly built around is change. Whedon’s Resurrection was in parts, vastly different to what had come before, whilst still in keeping with the basic elements that made the previous installments so compelling – not to mention, furthering the notions of family and motherhood to increasingly bizarre new levels. Overall, I still think the script had potential. The biggest issue, I think, with that film is the execution of the material. Granted, a script may be the foundation from which any movie is based, but in the right hands, I’m confident they’d have been on to a real winner. March 26, 2009 at 2:19 pm in reply to: Alien Quadrilogy for £13 #94604 p2p_productionsParticipant >They could pay me a tenner for sitting through Alien Resurrection. The ? draft script for Resurrection I’ve got is amazing. The story was so clearly defined, and the ending far superior. Shame those involved in making the film didn’t read it. March 26, 2009 at 1:54 pm in reply to: Alien Quadrilogy for £13 #94601 p2p_productionsParticipant >still you have to say a nine disc set for ?13, not that bad. Agreed. And for a truly fantastic DVD set too. Just unfortunate that The Making of Alien? was (allegedly) cut so heavily by The Powers That Be (30 mins or so). Even the title was different – I believe it was originally to be called “Rape and Wreckage”. March 26, 2009 at 1:32 pm in reply to: Alien Quadrilogy for £13 #94598 p2p_productionsParticipant ?50-70 for mine. Can’t remember now. March 22, 2009 at 7:58 pm in reply to: Anyone listen to Absolute Radio? #94398 p2p_productionsParticipant On the subject of recent mentions of Dwarf in the media, during the teaser for next week’s ep of ‘The Hottest Place on Earth’ on BBC 1, just as one of the geologists is lowered into an active volcano, he says ‘smoke me a kipper, I’ll be back for breakfast’… :-)) March 18, 2009 at 10:13 pm in reply to: Series VII DVD Intros #94148 p2p_productionsParticipant >He recognised the carpet of an ebay photograph which was that of his office. I remember that. Think I might’ve posted that link. Last time I checked, they were offering a mahogany Red Dwarf model alongside their Starbug (photo with the carpet in) and Blue Midget. March 18, 2009 at 9:50 pm in reply to: Series VII DVD Intros #94141 p2p_productionsParticipant >Though I do love the use of a Starbug shot that shows the ship crashing into the backcloth! You noticed! With the VII models having had such a history, I decided to leave it in as an in reference/easter egg. March 18, 2009 at 2:38 pm in reply to: Series VII DVD Intros #94111 p2p_productionsParticipant >The series one and two ones model sequences are the same as each other. The III, IV and V ones are the same as each other. The VI and VII ones are the same as each other. Only VIII is unique. Right. My point is, with the exception of VII, the model intros are all kinda series-specific. Granted, the Starbug interiors (fantastic, BTW) are different, but no VII model shots were used. Why? The snow planet sequence looked great! March 18, 2009 at 2:30 pm in reply to: Moderator flaunting : PIMPING MY STUFF #94110 p2p_productionsParticipant Congratulation, Seb. I also have a comic story in the works – been working on it for about two years now. I’ll be sure to pick up a copy of yours when I see it. March 17, 2009 at 10:55 am in reply to: Can anybody recommend me video editing software? #93976 p2p_productionsParticipant Hey, Carl. Yeah, you can sometimes get hold of a cheap copy Ulead (very good, BTW) from time to time – I got my first copy from an Aldi supermarket in one of the Bargain Buckets. No joke. I’ve never used Vegas, but have heard good things from people who have. Personally, I use Pinnacle most of the time. It’s mostly reliable, but sometimes I have trouble with audio clicks/volume issues when uploading to Youtube. The biggest prob I’ve found in my experience, is the higher quality clip you want in the end, the more a monster of a computer you need to begin with. In the past, it’s not really mattered which software I’ve used, the computer’s still annoyingly crashed halfway through an edit..! There’s not many differences between WMM and other suites. For me, the main difference is precision, and that really only comes with experience. Hope this helps! March 13, 2009 at 3:18 pm in reply to: Rimmer’s tool kit #93805 p2p_productionsParticipant Ian, did yours come with any RD stuff? Apparently, there was a keyring and one of Rimmer’s XXS condoms too… Seriously. March 6, 2009 at 2:01 pm in reply to: SFX: Back To Earth – Double Page Spread #93144 p2p_productionsParticipant The explanation for why Holly doesn’t appear in BtE is mentioned too… …Lister left the tap on 9 years ago. The ship was flooded and he hasn’t dried out yet. STS even has a remixed MIDI soundtrack available for download! BTW – Another great title: Beneath a Steel Sky – very Blade Runner, for all you Deckard fans out there. The game is now legit shareware – you can download it on the site, too. February 16, 2009 at 4:30 pm in reply to: The Simpsons: New Title Sequence in HD #91747 p2p_productionsParticipant >The movie wasn?t bad, but for a Simpsons movie, ?not bad? is a pretty damning criticism. As far as I’m concerned, they made the ACTUAL Simpsons Movie years beforehand… …It was called ‘Who Shot Mr. Burns?’ ;-)) February 16, 2009 at 3:58 pm in reply to: The Simpsons: New Title Sequence in HD #91738 p2p_productionsParticipant From Wikipedia… “Chris Suellentrop of Slate wrote “under Scully’s tenure, The Simpsons became, well, a cartoon. […] Episodes that once would have ended with Homer and Marge bicycling into the sunset now end with Homer blowing a tranquilizer dart into Marge’s neck. The show’s still funny, but it hasn’t been touching in years.” …I’d dispute the ‘still funny’ quote, though. Season Nine was the last great season in my opinion. February 11, 2009 at 4:17 pm in reply to: Do Holograms go to Silicon Heaven? #91163 p2p_productionsParticipant Well, Lister does briefly become a replicant in OOT. I think it’s a hologram of a comet – the kind of thing you used to be able get at places like the science museum. So far, the patches I’ve been able to make out are: Tomcat, Apollo XIII, 27th CRS, US Space Command, Garneau Scully-Power, & Rolling Stones. >…eagle one? Could be.
