January 22, 2009 at 11:42 pm in reply to: New series of Red Dwarf on Channel 4? #89439 JamesTCParticipant I think it might be DVD sales which will really decide if the specials do well. Without even being filmed yet they are doing quite well, they have already been sold to twenty odd countries. January 22, 2009 at 10:05 pm in reply to: No Kochanski #89429 JamesTCParticipant I am a little sad, she was funny *ducks as shoe is thrown*. Well atleast Robert thinks the scripts are great. If it is set on Star Bug I will be happy, can’t get enough of it, who ever desiged it is a genius. January 22, 2009 at 8:05 pm in reply to: Car Pool #89425 JamesTCParticipant I did actually start typing something, something along the lines of “I like me”. January 22, 2009 at 5:20 pm in reply to: Car Pool #89423 JamesTCParticipant *types smart are comment* *realises* *deletes smart arse comment* Hmm… January 22, 2009 at 5:10 pm in reply to: Car Pool #89421 JamesTCParticipant Backyard Blitz? Band of Brothers? Basil Brush? Battle B-Daman? Bill and Ben? Bob the Builder? The Brady Brides? The Brady Bunch? Brady’s Beasts? Break the Bank? Breaking Bonaduce? Everybody loves wikipedia. January 21, 2009 at 6:51 pm in reply to: Ganymede or Titan? #89394 JamesTCParticipant I think Titan seems the best option, this site being “Ganymede & Titan” you would think they would let us decide! January 21, 2009 at 4:43 pm in reply to: Car Pool #89390 JamesTCParticipant > I hate the way London and Londoners are portrayed onscreen for the masses. I often wonder (well OK, not that often) if New Yorkers feel the same way about how they?re shown on film. I hate the way people around the world thinks all of England talks cockney. Nearly all films which show an English person show them as a cockney, I don’t get it, I guess the North doesn’t exist. Its when a country is seen as whole just by the main city, not right! January 21, 2009 at 4:11 pm in reply to: Car Pool #89387 JamesTCParticipant Bobby is filming one with Jo Brand today. January 20, 2009 at 7:38 pm in reply to: Car Pool #89355 JamesTCParticipant I think he is doing Carry on London soon. January 20, 2009 at 5:38 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89321 JamesTCParticipant Despite the fact I hate religeon this guy has a pretty good speech. January 20, 2009 at 5:38 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89322 JamesTCParticipant His rhyming colours is brilliant! January 20, 2009 at 5:31 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89309 JamesTCParticipant “Praise song for every hand lettered signed”, was that the line? What the fuck does it mean? January 20, 2009 at 5:30 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89308 JamesTCParticipant Don’t think much of this poem, was never much of a poem fan though. January 20, 2009 at 5:27 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89301 JamesTCParticipant *applause* January 20, 2009 at 5:23 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89294 JamesTCParticipant A pause gives time for what he said to sink in, it is not meant for applause. January 20, 2009 at 5:21 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89290 JamesTCParticipant “The people will judge you on what you can build and not what you can destroy” Brilliant! January 20, 2009 at 5:10 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89279 JamesTCParticipant Sparkle, sparkle! January 20, 2009 at 5:09 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89277 JamesTCParticipant >Although he?s NEVER going to forget fucking up his oath. I think you can let him off, I know if I had a speech to come I would just try to remember that! January 20, 2009 at 5:02 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89260 JamesTCParticipant >NEWSFLASH: Obama will not get pneumonia I thought that was funny too, “that won’t happen here”, like we were all at home worrying Obama would catch pneumonia and die in a month. January 20, 2009 at 4:58 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89252 JamesTCParticipant > cf. there have been 10 Doctors, but only nine regenerations. *Image of Bush regenerating into Obama* January 20, 2009 at 4:52 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89241 JamesTCParticipant http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obama 44 right there. January 20, 2009 at 4:49 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89238 JamesTCParticipant Bring on Mr 44. I don’t care about this “God” fella. January 20, 2009 at 4:42 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89234 JamesTCParticipant Woodrow Wilson, my favourite president got a mention, hurray! January 20, 2009 at 4:33 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89230 JamesTCParticipant The crowds are magnificent, I did not expect that many people to be there! January 20, 2009 at 4:18 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89229 JamesTCParticipant Well he is 80 isn’t he? January 20, 2009 at 4:09 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89223 JamesTCParticipant Obama is going to assassinate himself! January 20, 2009 at 4:06 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89220 JamesTCParticipant Watching it live on BBC.co.uk January 20, 2009 at 3:51 pm in reply to: how would you resolve the end to ” only the good …” #89215 JamesTCParticipant Poetic licence. January 20, 2009 at 3:45 pm in reply to: how would you resolve the end to ” only the good …” #89213 JamesTCParticipant then how does kennedy kill his past self .. because if he does that it means he cant become his future self to kill himself in the past .. so really nobody is there to kill kennedy ?? me confused It could be that with the future Star Buggers being the original future selves their time line as well as themselves can be changed because they exist as originals, Kennedy was a different version of himself not from the original time line so he could kill himself because essentially he was a different man because he was not meant to exist. Ouch, its like brain freeze only much worse. January 20, 2009 at 3:34 pm in reply to: how would you resolve the end to ” only the good …” #89209 JamesTCParticipant The Grandfather Paradox means that the entirety of reality should have been wiped out at the conclusion of Out of Time. And if not then, then at the conclusion of Tikka, when the same thing happens. Ergo, everything that happens from VII onwards can safely be ignored, as that universe doesn?t actually exist, and any episodes you may encounter from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination. “The Grandfather Paradox is this: suppose a man traveled back in time and killed his biological grandfather before the latter met the traveller’s grandmother. As a result, one of the traveller’s parents (and by extension, the traveller himself) would never have been conceived. This would imply that he could not have travelled back in time after all, which in turn implies the grandfather would still be alive, and the traveller would have been conceived, allowing him to travel back in time and kill his grandfather. Thus each possibility seems to imply its own negation, a type of logical paradox.” Though not mentioning the universe is destroyed in that piece from good ol’ wikipedia, one of many outcomes can be established by the logical paradox that is formed, the outcome Red Dwarf establishes is that the events occured to the man but not to the grandfather and events were turned back (not without repercussions, unstable dimension in RD) so that the man can then avoid his error and stop the logical paradox. January 20, 2009 at 3:24 pm in reply to: The Spoilery Doctor Who Thread (The Next Doctor / Matt Smith casting) #89206 JamesTCParticipant DT was described in the Metro today as ?former Doctor Who David Tennant?. Sigh. Bloody ‘ell, its the year 2010, I better rush out and get the Red Dwarf specials on DVD, I have been in a coma since january 2009! January 19, 2009 at 7:55 pm in reply to: Marleen’s NO SPOILERS ‘Recommend Me Old Who’ Thread. #89151 JamesTCParticipant ‘The Sea Devils’ is wonderful, the best Pertwee story by far. ‘Warriors of the Deep’ is not as bad as is said but it is not a classic, the costume for Silurians and Sea Devils are great and well I won’t spoil it, Peter is good in it. January 19, 2009 at 4:49 pm in reply to: The Bodystretcher Collection #89134 JamesTCParticipant I mentioned Pete Part 2 because I consider it the worst episode or Red Dwarf, still find it much funnier than the USA pilot. January 19, 2009 at 4:31 pm in reply to: The Bodystretcher Collection #89129 JamesTCParticipant Don?t get me wrong, Red Dwarf USA is shit but its shitness is excusable given that its an attempt by a bunch of newcomers (sans Robert) to reinvent the show for a US audience. Pete Part 2 does not have a similar get-out-clause. It?s just as hurried, has equally bad characterisation and is far messier as a narrative. It has the get out clause that it was originally a one part episode and a second episode had to be rushed, instead of a rushed episode it had a padded two parter. And the Fire Exit joke is better than any line in Pete Part 2. I agree with that but it only had that and another joke about base ball cards which I found funny. January 19, 2009 at 10:41 am in reply to: The Bodystretcher Collection #89117 JamesTCParticipant Series VIII is miles better than the USA pilot, even the worst episode of Red Dwarf is alot better than the USA pilot, I’m looking at you Pete Part 2. January 19, 2009 at 10:38 am in reply to: Marleen’s NO SPOILERS ‘Recommend Me Old Who’ Thread. #89116 JamesTCParticipant Me too, a triple disc set! Though I am most looking forward to the colourised ‘Planet of the Daleks’, I love all the restoration features and that has one about the colourisation! January 18, 2009 at 5:43 pm in reply to: if there ever was to be a new holly .. who would you choose ? #89073 JamesTCParticipant They could write it on the camera lens and always place Rimmer in the same place, that way if the worst happens and the felt tip runs out Rimmer can still have a H but he can’t move without the camera moving the same way he does. January 18, 2009 at 5:15 pm in reply to: if there ever was to be a new holly .. who would you choose ? #89070 JamesTCParticipant Just think, the new episodes could be cancelled if someone leaves the top off a pen. January 18, 2009 at 4:53 pm in reply to: how would you resolve the end to ” only the good …” #89067 JamesTCParticipant No matter what happens these will be the shortest episodes but I still think these will be for a 40 minute slot as it will be inkeeping with the other episodes. Previous episodes have cuts (not just to incorporate adverts) so atleast these will be specialy made for Dave so it won’t be butchered on repeats though I will buy the DVD straight away so I won’t run on repeats, yet it is good for those who prefer to not buy DVDs and watch repeats. January 18, 2009 at 4:50 pm in reply to: if there ever was to be a new holly .. who would you choose ? #89066 JamesTCParticipant >Though a crafty tenner or two wouldn?t go amiss. That is over half the budget for the Dave specials! January 18, 2009 at 4:48 pm in reply to: how would you resolve the end to ” only the good …” #89064 JamesTCParticipant I am calm! Was my post aggressive? If it was I apologise because it was not meant to be in that tone. January 18, 2009 at 3:07 pm in reply to: how would you resolve the end to ” only the good …” #89050 JamesTCParticipant Who says Kochanski is not in the specials, personally I would love 2 episodes set on Star Bug with Rimmer, Cat, Kryten, Lister and Kochanski. A mix of the Series VI and VII. All they have said is only the four main cast are confimed, doesn’t mean others can’t be confirmed soon, we haven’t even got a director confirmed or a plot so just because 4 people are confirmed doesn’t mean more can’t come along. January 18, 2009 at 2:46 pm in reply to: has doctor who been borrowing from red dwarf #89047 JamesTCParticipant I searched for an anagram of Red Dwarf and I got Dwarf Red, it has no anagrams. January 18, 2009 at 1:48 pm in reply to: if there ever was to be a new holly .. who would you choose ? #89041 JamesTCParticipant Chris Barrie’s impression of Chris Barrie. January 17, 2009 at 12:32 pm in reply to: if there ever was to be a new holly .. who would you choose ? #88991 JamesTCParticipant >David Ross? Star of awful sitcom The Green Green Grass? I like the Green Green Grass but he also played Kryten and Talkie Toaster so a good Dwarf background. January 16, 2009 at 8:56 pm in reply to: if there ever was to be a new holly .. who would you choose ? #88932 JamesTCParticipant >and he dislikes Red Dwarf. Cunt! January 16, 2009 at 8:42 pm in reply to: Norm’s post-Dwarf tell-all #88925 JamesTCParticipant >You know, before he released it again. With less material I believe. January 16, 2009 at 8:28 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf filming 30th january! #88919 JamesTCParticipant Well since a few months back we were told it was 20th this is not good in that sense though it is good to have confirmation. Rob has a Kryten outfit test next week so I think the main site will give a picture or two next friday, atleast I hope. January 16, 2009 at 8:10 pm in reply to: if there ever was to be a new holly .. who would you choose ? #88910 JamesTCParticipant I see his name mentioned and have seen an article on here calling him a cunt, who is he?
