Would any new writer be able to capture the characters? I have horrible visions of everyone complaining a new writer makes the characters do things they normally wouldn’t do.

Norman seemed nervous in series 8. Hattie deserves the role, she seems like a lovely person and did a really good job with the limited material she had.

Great pictures p2p. Purple is one i’ve always wanted them to try on the show at some point. Red is my favorite of the ones he’s had and Green is my least. The only problem with Red was Chris’s face would look really pink in some scenes.

Rimmer should be in Red or maybe Purple. I love Listers jacket so i hope that would stay. Cat can wear anything at all.

Having the grave scene open the episode is very good. And the Holly bit gave a very strong sense of nostalgia which made it all feel very classic Dwarf. I’d still prefer the longer episodes to a cut down version but those two opening touches are really good and i would love them to be in the final version.

Kryten’s has to be the fact he got to tell Lister. It must of been horrible for him seeing Lister upset about her dying and not telling him the truth.

Cats was probably the fact he was the one who worked it out (even if he didn’t know he was doing it)

Yeah i guess so. Ah well you can rip pretty much every story on Red Dwarf apart if you try hard enough.

The whole last 5 minutes of back to earth was absolutely genius. That speech made me want to punch the air with joy, it was so well delivered. I want more of these moments from Dwarf.

Yes! A thousand times yes! I really think we’re going to get one if they’re putting stuff like that on their site.

Does anyone else think the portal to the alternate dimension looks a bit like a squid as it opens?

I thought the new episodes were really funny. I laughed at most of the jokes, a few didn’t quite work for me but i don’t think every joke can work for everyone. For me the balance of comedy and drama was spot on and both were very strong.

I liked having Katerina in it. She created some intrigue and a lot of people expected her to be the villain. She also became a threat to Rimmer and i enjoyed the scenes between the two.

I think we need a final series. The search for Kotchanski would be good but i’d also like Red Dwarf to end back on earth so Lister gets his ultimate happy ending.

I didn’t like it. I laughed without it and a laughter track that isn’t from a live audience watching the show being filmed doesn’t fit in right. The actors haven’t left pauses for it to be fitted in making the final effect feel cheap and tacked on. Thats one thing i don’t like about series 7 and i prefer the episodes on the DVD without the laugh track.

I think its the original Rimmer. Although i would like to know how series 8 Rimmer died if this is the case.

I think it has to be Grant Naylor. Hopefully with a legion style face, half of Dougs and half of Robs.

Although i didn’t really like Kotchanski in VII and VIII i was strangely saddened by knowing she was dead and i really want a happy resolution to it all. Personally i don’t think she’s dead at all. Perhaps she snuck off because she found a way to get back to her own reality and to be with her version of Lister.

I also think that after being dead for so long he doesn’t really care about another hard light hologram especially one who is going to kill him. He pushed her into a car, sure it hurt her but she’ll be back and after her speech to him a minute before why should he care? She was going to erase him and we all know Rimmer will do anything as long as he survives.

Katerina won’t be dead. To be honest i think Rimmer would know that since he has a hard light drive and is well aware what can kill him and what cant. I think he did it just to get rid of her for a while.

Thats not nice to read. Norman was my favourite when i was younger but after reading what he’s like i’ve gone right off him. Why should the cast get in contact with him? You don’t hear Hattie moaning about it all.

Anyone else thinking in the parallel dimension Coronation street is a real place and all the characters are real people? Like some TV shows might be real in the alternate dimension. This could explain everyone wearing gas masks in the trailer, it could be a parody of a TV show.
