I’m gonna watch the rest of the episodes over the next few weeks and i’ll keep an eye out for any other changes. I don’t think there’s really any other music that would be cut though. I think it must have been Emohawk because i seem to remember cat shouting “It is the stick!” and the shot of him with the monster in his hand terrified me. I would only have been 5 at the time. The first episode i remember watching all the way through was Tikka to ride. I remember i used to have series 1 and 2 on VHS and watched them over and over. The artwork on the VHS releases was amazing, i think it was the remastered versions though. Has anyone on here written anything about Red Dwarf artwork over the years? I’ve gone all misty eyed and nostalgic now, might have to try and dig em out just to see the cover art. October 12, 2012 at 4:27 pm in reply to: Question for those who saw an episode (or more) filmed #202275 DessieParticipant It’s not Butter. Three million years ago it was Butter but since then it’s churned and mutated and now we don’t know what it is. December 25, 2011 at 12:30 am in reply to: Merry Christmas #113836 DessieParticipant Merry Christmas everyone! August 27, 2011 at 7:28 pm in reply to: Dr Who Series 6 #112900 DessieParticipant Well that was a decent Terminator homage. Did very little else for me though. I didn’t like the villain, Thought the Reveal at the start was a tacked on afterthought and the end was a cop out. Great performances again, especially from Arthur Darvill. I’m going to watch it again later, hopefully it’ll click with me. May 17, 2011 at 6:06 pm in reply to: Terra Nova #112333 DessieParticipant It looked good until I saw the dinosaurs. Will check it out though, hopefully it’ll win me over. May 1, 2011 at 10:24 pm in reply to: Portal 2 #112132 DessieParticipant Wow, just finished it and… Wow. Absolutely loved that and possibly one of the best endings I’ve seen. Now to go through it again with commentary and to get what I missed. Didn’t think to scan myself at the time, missing a lot of otherachievements too. I usually trade games in quickly but I’ll be holding onto this for the DLC. Valve really are awesome. April 29, 2011 at 9:47 pm in reply to: Portal 2 #112090 DessieParticipant Loving this game. I really don’t want it to end, I spent about ten minutes just watching the turrets being tested as the dialogue was brilliant. April 23, 2011 at 6:12 pm in reply to: Dr Who Series 6 #111954 DessieParticipant I enjoyed that a lot but i feel there was far too much packed into it. I kind of feel like ive watched another trailer and the main event is next week, which it is but i think a 90 minute episode would have been far better to start with. January 14, 2011 at 8:50 pm in reply to: [Shameless plug} First 3 Jump Leads eBooks available and on sale, Next set due before end of the month #111363 DessieParticipant These available on iphone? I really hope it’s a good quality and not just a half arsed thing to make some cash. May 8, 2010 at 11:11 pm in reply to: New RD Fan Comic Preview #109683 DessieParticipant I seriously can’t wait to read this. April 24, 2010 at 5:46 pm in reply to: Doctor Who – Series 5 – Broadcast Discussion (NO SPOILERS) #109545 DessieParticipant I’m getting a real Aliens vibe off this episode so far. April 4, 2010 at 7:36 pm in reply to: Sonic 4 #109260 DessieParticipant It’s strange how Sonic can stand perfectly fine on some vertical walls. I really hope they do a lot more work on this game before it’s released. I don’t think i can take any more Sonic disappointment. The stages certainly look right but the game play looks awkward. February 23, 2010 at 5:04 pm in reply to: Pub quiz fail #108932 DessieParticipant Q- Pietersen isn’t is he? February 4, 2010 at 6:03 pm in reply to: Sonic 4 #108636 DessieParticipant Argh! I hope it’s good i think the actors they’ve got in look the part. Wether the material will be good enough is the real problem. January 23, 2010 at 9:28 pm in reply to: How can Red Dwarf help you in your career? #108418 DessieParticipant This won’t affect new Dwarf will it? January 19, 2010 at 4:39 pm in reply to: Torchwood USA #108288 DessieParticipant Sounds good to me. I just hope they use the current cast. January 14, 2010 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Happy Simpsons Day! #108129 DessieParticipant Milhouse: Wow Bart, Laddie’s great, way better than your old dog Bart: Really? I guess I was the only one that loved him Milhouse: You got that right, remember the time he ate me goldfish and you lied to me and said I never had a goldfish? Then why’d I have the bowl Bart? Why. Did I Have. The Bowl? January 4, 2010 at 2:42 am in reply to: Oh… #107774 DessieParticipant I got one christmas card off my parents, thats all. They’re too expensive and rather pointless these days. Saying that i only got 7 for my birthday. I think the age of the card is dying out. I get loads of texts at christmas and my birthday but i guess thats the easiest way to do it these days.I just cant do fuck all with a text… Well i could type it out, print it then stick it on my walls but i don’t have any ink left in my printer. January 3, 2010 at 10:50 pm in reply to: Opinions, please… #107751 DessieParticipant >’Get the Spike actor?and have him bring the Spike character with him? Yeah it was Spike, but still great to watch. I’d love to see this character appear in Dr Who. January 3, 2010 at 6:18 pm in reply to: Doctor Who – End of Time Broadcast Discussion #107721 DessieParticipant >Also meant to mention this before but when Rassilon first used his magic glove was anyone else desperate for the old backfiring time-gaunlet trick to put in an appearance? I thought something like that would end up killing him off. I was a bit gutted when it didn’t happen. January 3, 2010 at 2:06 pm in reply to: had some good news #107707 DessieParticipant >Holly. Seriously. Ok how about Bhindi Bajhi? January 2, 2010 at 12:36 am in reply to: Doctor Who – End of Time Broadcast Discussion #107587 DessieParticipant An immediate regeneration would have been more moving. Wilf watching him regenerate and knowing he was the cause of it would have been great to watch. As it was i was sat there waiting for him to regenerate and getting annoyed at the fact he wasn’t. The scene with Wilf and the Doctor on the spaceship was brilliant, probably the best scene in the specials. The Master unleashing on the time lords was great too. In fact every scene with John Simm was fantastic. I really hope he’s used again. The master’s plan was a bit of a cop out in the end though It was all undone by the wave of an arm. Just out of interest has Timothy Dalton’s character been in it before? January 1, 2010 at 8:33 pm in reply to: Doctor Who – End of Time Broadcast Discussion #107526 DessieParticipant It was alright. The bit where the Master saved him was brilliant and Wilf knocking on the glass was heartbreaking. I’d have left him in there though. lets face it he’s getting on. The doctor visiting everyone was a bit pointless, i’d have prefered him to regenerate instantly. I thought the Rose scene was a bit stupid i’d have prefered her to be there knowing who he is and being devestated at him dying. The new Doctor seemed ok… a bit exciteable and i can see him getting very annoying if he’s like that all the way through. Thinking he was female was just weird to be honest but i liked the line about still not being ginger. December 31, 2009 at 2:22 pm in reply to: had some good news #107461 DessieParticipant Congratulations! I suggest Holly as a name. December 28, 2009 at 12:04 am in reply to: Love, Honuor and obey #107391 DessieParticipant Finally got to watch this again. 10 minutes in Ray sits next to a director. I think the director is Rob Grant. Could be wrong though. December 27, 2009 at 12:18 am in reply to: Doctor Who – End of Time Broadcast Discussion #107352 DessieParticipant I just hope viewers who don’t normally watch Doctor Who aren’t put off by this episode. To a new viewer it would have been nonsense which although isn’t a bad thing it was definitely less accessible than other specials. December 25, 2009 at 10:46 pm in reply to: Doctor Who – End of Time Broadcast Discussion #107292 DessieParticipant http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/s4/episodes/S0_09 Dunno if it’s been posted but there’s a clip from the next episode on there. Timothy Dalton looks like he’ll be great in this. December 25, 2009 at 10:39 pm in reply to: Christmas Telly #107288 DessieParticipant I thought the Royle Family was great. I never stopped laughing through it. December 25, 2009 at 8:02 pm in reply to: Doctor Who – End of Time Broadcast Discussion #107268 DessieParticipant Ok does anyone mind if i repost my last post in the other thread? I thought the pacing was a bit off. I understand it was setting up the finale but i was sat wishing something more would happen. I?m not a huge fan of everyone being turned into the master either, it?s just a strange idea. Simm was fantastic though and the teaser for the next episode really has me excited. I just expected more bang from this episode. Also how many times will Simm have to of changed his clothes when making that episode? Also does anyone think we could see a forced regeneration by the timelords? December 25, 2009 at 7:49 pm in reply to: The official The End of Time thread (will contain pre-broadcast spoilers/speculation and post-broadcast spoilers) #107265 DessieParticipant I thought the pacing was a bit off. December 24, 2009 at 8:20 pm in reply to: Love, Honuor and obey #107231 DessieParticipant Yeah thats the one! I watched it for the first time last night and there’s a guy in it for a few seconds who looks exactly like Rob Grant. December 24, 2009 at 3:52 am in reply to: Love, Honuor and obey #107225 DessieParticipant I’ve probably spelt it wrong too. Apologies again. December 18, 2009 at 7:35 pm in reply to: Avatar Trailer #107093 DessieParticipant The plot for Avatar is really good and there’s some great characters in it. It’s a long film but it flew by. The windows are really annoying. Sometimes its impossible to judge the jump into one correctly. November 22, 2009 at 11:22 pm in reply to: Canabalt – a surprisingly fun Flash-based Parkour game #106419 DessieParticipant Best i’ve managed is 5208. A mate of mine got 9012. November 22, 2009 at 2:35 pm in reply to: DVD recommendations #106388 DessieParticipant I thought the number 23 was quite good. Carrey was the best thing about it. The plot got a bit silly at the end. November 22, 2009 at 2:34 pm in reply to: Moon #106387 DessieParticipant I’ll hopefully get to see this in the next few days. It didn’t get shown at cinema here so i almost ended up going to Derby to see it. November 22, 2009 at 2:31 pm in reply to: DVD recommendations #106385 DessieParticipant Highlander, best film ever made. November 22, 2009 at 2:30 pm in reply to: Canabalt – a surprisingly fun Flash-based Parkour game #106384 DessieParticipant Wahey i got 2112. I don’t think i’ll do much better than that. November 22, 2009 at 2:27 pm in reply to: Canabalt – a surprisingly fun Flash-based Parkour game #106383 DessieParticipant I cant even get to 1000! What are the things that fall from the sky? October 24, 2009 at 12:01 pm in reply to: Avatar Trailer #105212 DessieParticipant After seeing the trailer on the big screen i’m quite excited about this now. October 17, 2009 at 4:59 pm in reply to: Dr Parnassus #104941 DessieParticipant Well that was absolutely fantastic! I haven’t enjoyed a film that much for a long time. October 17, 2009 at 12:59 pm in reply to: Dr Parnassus #104917 DessieParticipant I’m off to see this now! October 14, 2009 at 10:40 pm in reply to: Charity auction – autographed Dave poster #104741 DessieParticipant I think it’ll end up going for more than ?100 easily. ?80 will probably be my limit but i can hope. October 14, 2009 at 10:35 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf Animated – First Footage BRAND NEW #104740 DessieParticipant I liked it. The Hot dog part could be tightened up a bit and some of Rimmer’s lines seem a little bit out of character. I really like the voices and the music. The part in the opening credits where Rimmer does the Star Trek salute is great. October 14, 2009 at 10:33 pm in reply to: Charity auction – autographed Dave poster #104738 DessieParticipant I bid ?60 but was immediately outbid! Might try again nearer the end. October 12, 2009 at 5:32 pm in reply to: Gimme Gimme Gimme Gimme Fried Chicken #104405 DessieParticipant Film: Highlander Book: Brave New World by Aldous Huxley Album: Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division Other cool thing: Braid on Xbox live arcade or PC October 11, 2009 at 11:34 pm in reply to: hello! (self-important announcement) #104361 DessieParticipant Hello! October 11, 2009 at 12:10 pm in reply to: Pixar: Up, and a Toy Story 3 trailer #104349 DessieParticipant I haven’t seen Up yet but i think i’ll enjoy it. Ratatouille was boring and Wall-E is extremely overrated. Finding Nemo and Cars are great films. Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are their best closely followed by The Incredibles. October 11, 2009 at 11:49 am in reply to: A Christmas Carrey #104348 DessieParticipant The CGI looks shite and Jim Carrey playing Ebanezer is a bad casting choice. I’m going to hate this film. October 10, 2009 at 11:27 pm in reply to: Pixar: Up, and a Toy Story 3 trailer #104339 DessieParticipant Toy Story 3 looks fantastic. I haven’t liked recent Pixar films hopefully this one will change that. August 30, 2009 at 12:24 am in reply to: Norman Lovett: Mental? #102866 DessieParticipant Christmas Lights was actually quite funny. August 26, 2009 at 10:10 pm in reply to: Butterfield’s Children’s Parties – A Short Fan Fillum #102691 DessieParticipant Brilliant! August 26, 2009 at 9:59 pm in reply to: Welcome to Shooting Stars… #102690 DessieParticipant I really enjoyed it. The you’ve been filmed bit was great. Who was the weird guy sat to Ulrika’s right? August 25, 2009 at 1:11 pm in reply to: Avatar Trailer #102653 DessieParticipant Models look far more impressive to me than any CGI i’ve ever seen. That’s what i like about Aliens, the queen looks fantastic in that film but the CGI version in AvP was boring to watch. Cameron’s movies have a certain “real” feel about them which seems like it could be lost in this film. August 16, 2009 at 1:58 pm in reply to: Monty Python Dvds #102380 DessieParticipant It’s finally here! It took 12 days for delivery from play.com which seems a bit long for them. August 12, 2009 at 10:20 pm in reply to: LOST and Red Dwarf connections #102213 DessieParticipant I have always thought it was weird the building in Quarantine is the same as the model of the hatch. Also the picture in point 6 looks very Red Dwarf. Whoever wrote that had far too much time on their hands. August 10, 2009 at 1:08 pm in reply to: Alien prequel #102115 DessieParticipant Why did they ever think it was a good idea to have AvP set on earth? I’m guessing either budget reasons or writer stupidity. I did enjoy them at the time but looking back they are awful. Even the Predators home world in Requiem disappointed me. August 7, 2009 at 10:25 pm in reply to: Danny John-Jules website #102009 DessieParticipant >Ooh look, the sure-to-be-good half hour Tongue Tied video: http://www.dannyjohn-jules.com/media.aspx That’s the greatest thing on the internet ever. August 7, 2009 at 2:32 pm in reply to: Danny John-Jules website #101974 DessieParticipant Is that really his Twitter? Robert must of finally convinced him to sign up. August 1, 2009 at 10:37 pm in reply to: Monty Python Dvds #101756 DessieParticipant I read somewhere they were re-releasing them because the BBC decided to churn them out as quickly as possible at first and the quality was poor. I wouldn’t want to buy this and then find out they were being released again with extra stuff and in better quality. But like you said at ?15 i cant go wrong. July 25, 2009 at 12:08 pm in reply to: Something’s Gotta Be Done About Your Kids #101526 DessieParticipant I’ve never seen these movies. I’m missing out. July 19, 2009 at 8:08 pm in reply to: Anyone going to be taking Norman Lovett up on his offer? #101279 DessieParticipant Is his DVD any good? I’ve never seen any of his stand up stuff. Actually i’ve never seen anything he’s done except Red Dwarf. July 16, 2009 at 1:00 pm in reply to: The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition #101189 DessieParticipant I’ll be getting it today. Never played it before so i’m going to play through it with the old graphics first then again with the new ones. July 11, 2009 at 12:10 am in reply to: What is the movie of the year? #101034 DessieParticipant > Hmm. I?ve read lots of good stuff about that one. (I haven?t seen it to judge for myself, but I like the Evil Dead films, and I understand it?s similar.) After reading all of the good stuff about it i went to see it expecting a really good horror. I thought it was dull and predictable but most people i know who have seen it loved it. July 10, 2009 at 6:03 pm in reply to: What is the movie of the year? #101005 DessieParticipant Terminator 4 or The Hangover for me. Worst film would be Drag me to Hell July 10, 2009 at 12:06 pm in reply to: Who the hell is Shane G? #100973 DessieParticipant There’s only one option. We need to do the test from The Thing, everyone knows Shane G’s blood reacts to a hot wire. July 9, 2009 at 3:11 pm in reply to: Sonic Level Maps #100910 DessieParticipant I hope SEGA decides to just make 2d Sonic games on the Xbox live arcade and PSN. Arnie getting thrown through the shop window in Terminator 2 7. Hans Gruber getting thrown out of the window in Die Hard 8. Mace Windu in Star wars 9. A clipboard being thrown out of a window in Scrubs and hitting a guy 10. Angel gets thrown out of a window in either Buffy or Angel. That was incredibly difficult to put together. I was pushed out of double decker bus window once. I never knew there was an actual name for it! April 23, 2009 at 7:10 pm in reply to: I’m New here! #97929 DessieParticipant I’m quite new so hello!
