I would like to watch it again before I see Dark Knight. As I cannot be bothered to buy it however, this could be problematic.

I have forgotten if anyone had mentioned it already but watching Last Crusade again the new one will have to have a fucking good ending, as this one was perfect.

Anyway I have always loved Temple of Doom. It gets such a bad rep, and although Kate Capshaw is pretty damn irritating at times Short Round is genius. I still cannot really decide which of the trilogy I like the best, but it’s fair to say that the last two films both have flaws and Raiders does that. That said they are all fantastic.

Oh dear, that looks horrible. Nice to see Colm Meaney but other than that it does appear to be failing on an incredible level.

    Also, fuck The Departed.

DS9 was the best Star Trek by far. One thing that does kind of bother me about Roddenbery is how much he refused to deviate from the ‘Starfleet = living gods’ thing he had set up. I love DS9 because it challenged that.

Anyway, even though I have rather large reservations about this new film, I won’t admit that the trailer doesn’t make me happy. I just hope it isn’t filled with lots of cool and witty dialogue to be hip. Ugh.

    > We?ve seen nothing so far to prove that Ashes to Ashes works to a different ?logic? than Life on Mars.

But surely there is. Afterall, given that the people that made LoM basically said “it’s in his head,” how can ATA exist in the same world now that Gene Hunt (a construct of Sam Tyler’s imagination, or even as one in Alex Drake’s after reading Sam’s files) exists in the real world? Bah. The thing about looking in history books for any record of Gene is something I too thought of, but after the end of ATA I can’t see any way he is not real. Unless Alex has simply gone insane, or is the product of psychic interference.

Well there were scenes with the other characters without Alex because it’s time-travel this time, which makes a lot of sense, doesn’t it? GOOD ONE.

Just the fact that every defense of the show I have heard after I have done my awesome pre-judgery is pretty much the same thing, that the girl who’s playing the Terminator is really hot, tells me that it is a piece of fail. Mind you, I don’t disagree about the girls looks, but still: fuck this show.

I discovered that the Terminator is a teenage girl and automatically decided never to watch it, and indeed to mock it on internet forums whenever a chance may arise. So I say that it’s a bag of shite, and I am probably right.

I didn’t take the ending of LOM as a damning indictment of policing today at all. I am going over some of the same points people have already made I’m sure, but it was the friendships he had made, life in general but most of all it was Annie. Sam simply wasn’t enjoying life anymore, and if the life he wants to lead is a dream in his head when he’s near death, so be it. I didn’t find anything wrong with the ending at all.

But the point someone made about Gene being the one who is traveling through time is an interesting one.

It all makes little sense at the moment. If anything, it seems to point to more of a time travel thing than anything else, and that really would be stupid. Hmmm. I imagine Sam will appear at some point (maybe with Annie) although really it would be… silly.

I still do not understand how Leonard Nimoy is appearing then if it is a prequel. I guess maybe it will start in the present continuity and then flashback to the younger new cast. Oh well.

It was pretty much what I expected. Good fun, but it made no sense. What seems to have happened is that Alex (who is really annoying) has found her way into the world Sam created in his subconscious. Gene, Ray and Chris are still around and remember Sam, who is now dead in this world. The fact they have killed Sam kind of pisses me off.

So… what? That makes no sense. If anything, it seems to point to more of a time travel angle, which it was made clear wasn’t what happened in Life On Mars. All I can think is that Alex has read so much of Sam’s reports and what-not that she has re-created his world, just without him and eight years on. Which doesn’t make any sense.

    That was brilliant!

Still, two episodes of TNG and five of DS9 a week is pretty damn good, although I do wish the former would end before the latter. As for continuing it, I would definitely take the current continuity over some bullshit new one.

Yeah I know it had lots (well, loads) of flaws (wasn’t the director completely unwilling to research anything about the series or something?) but nevertheless I did enjoy it. It was the worst TGN film, though. Ah well.

Nemesis wasn’t even that bad. I cried when Data died.

I’m still betting this will be shit. They really should just either continue the current time-line, either another TNG film or maybe even in a animation if need be with DS9 characters as well.

I was still slightly pissed off with the Ultimate Action Edition, though, when I found it didn’t have the theatrical edition (with Bruce Willis commentary) as well. I doubt Bruce would be as amazing a commentator of his own films as Arnold, but it would be fun I bet.

    > ITV are very good at editing movies. Case in point: Opening scene of Shaun of the Dead:

    > Ed: ?Can I get any of you COCKS! a drink??

The best one has to be Die Hard:

    “Yippee-ki-yay mother” *lift noise*

Although they have shown the notoriously cut-to-pieces Cliffhanger in the most uncut form I have ever seen on British television.

I flipped onto Dave to see what episode/series it was at around nine thirty, assuming they would do a whole series if it’s nine-twelve/one with ads. It was Camille. When I flipped back after watching Donnie Darko again it was Camille again.
