I have no idea what happened to my Sonic the Comic’s. I had quite a lot of them, and I know I wouldn’t have thrown them away because Sonic is an amazing person.

It’s the fact that there is a laugh in a bit that is laugh free in the other ten times that sequence is shown that really… befuddles me. Obviously it is just a mistake, but…

So Buffy was no. 4? Fucking hell, it’s just a bit of guitar isn’t it (assuming this poll included the ending theme for Dwarf, to avoid being a hypocrite which I clearly am not)?

Mind you I haven’t seen Buffy for years so it may be quite good.

Speaking of laughter tracks, that laugh in Holly’s intro to Rimmer (the one at the start of I and II) in either Waiting for God or Confidence and Paranoia always befuddled me. I can’t remember if it’s in the original, remastered or both, but it always befuddled me.

I’m still sticking that it’s from BtR, and if I need to say that the nanobots recreated the squid that that’s precisely what I’m going to do.

    II: Thanks for the Memory
    III: Marooned
    IV: Dimension Jump
    V: The Inuisitor
    VI: Out of Time
    VII: Tikka
    VIII: Cassandra
BtE: part 2 I guess, although I doubt I’ll even think of it as a trilogy when the DVD arrives.

I can’t believe this is still being discussed. It’s not obvious (well actually it is for me, but I guess it isn’t implicitly stated) that it’s the same ocean from BtR, but it’s pretty welcome to that kind of assumption.

    > I just re-watched Part 3. Cat specifically mentions that he got the Joy Squid from the ocean planet all those years ago. As they didn?t actually make it back to the ocean planet on their return trip in Nanarchy, this means that logically Cat must have brought it back to the Dwarf following the events of BTR, where it promptly escaped.

    I knew it!

    > This confused me on the first viewing but it seemed that when Lister believed they were fictional characters played by actors, Chloe appeared to be his best shot. Upon his realisation that it was a hallucination he was able to get Kochanski? but if this was really a hallucination where he would be happy, shouldn?t he have been able to get Kochanski there all along?

That’s what I assumed would happen at first, as when he was reading that magazine with Chloe’s interview he still thought she was dead. Later when Kochakski appeared he knew it wasn’t real and he also knew she was still alive, thus it was Kochanksi he imagined.

    > I?d love to see a time-travel episode with them revisiting the events of a Series 1 / 2 story – Trials & Tribbleations style.

They could revisit the episode Kryten and someone could ask the actual Kryten why he looks so different, to which he should reply that it is a long story.

Well wasn’t it made clear that the joy squid was from the same ocean as the despair squid? I thought words were said to that effect…

I know it’s not impossible, but how likely it it that they took Starbug down to the bottom of another ocean on another planet that also had a ship/station on its bed, and the staff there had also been conducting genetic alterations with the local marine life?

    Same place, I say.

Also, I doubt it was the ocean in Cassandra, as the ship Cassandra herself was on was down there for a completely different reason than the one in BtR.

The director’s cut of Alien is interesting, just a few things tightened up if you will, and an equally interesting scene with Dallas.

Anyway, Alien 3 is fantastic and its reception has improved over time, I think most of the problem was the dramatic shift away from the tone of the first two films (well not so much Alien really, but you get the idea), particularly as Aliens had been so action-packed and gung-ho. It is definitely the end of the trilogy, I enjoy Resurrection a bit but fuck it in it’s stupid pointless face.

Lister – gets his last chance to be with Kochanski, before he is told TEH TROOH.
Rimmer – gets to pass off all his inadequacies by the fact someone made him up.
Cat – gets to be the smart one for a change and kind of solve the riddle/make up for guilt over bring the squid on board to begin with.
    Kryten – hmm.

I eagerly await traveling along the ship, past the windows and the side/dome/graveyard place, then into the ship proper, down the new corridors and into the new sleeping quarters.

Also, I eagerly await floating in the water tank, going into the diving bell and up onto the surface when I put the second disc in.

As far as I’m concerned, for me it?s definitely our Rimmer, i.e I-VII Rimmer. I know that VIII Rimmer would have been around in Lister?s life about as much (not counting deep sleeps), if not longer, but when the development is off screen it isn?t the same. That was definitely our Rimmer right there, aside from the fact it blatantly is from a couple of his comments (Polymorph, despair squid) for the most part it just felt like it was him.

    No no, definitely our Rimmer.

Chloe will appear as herself. I called it.

It will either be horribly rushed or we’ll see a return to the packed-full eps of the first few series.

    Yeah, it is pretty painful.

Anyway, she’ll be back, I have no doubt. I also have no problem with that scene.
