    > the fact that the ?dimension-hopping leviathan? part of the episode?s publicity synopsis was an out-and-out lie.

It wasn’t a lie because the other dimension does exist, Kryten states that at the end, the infinite multi-verse thing, the squid exists in one of the infinite universes created by the hullucination.

Didn’t you see ‘Back to Reality 2: Emosquid’ in Series IX? One of my favourites.

If a Red Dwarf game were to be released then Series VI would be the best time to set it. I think if it was made like Mass Effect it would be great, what I mean is a main set of missions as well as a hell of a load of side missions. It would also be the greatest thing ever to be able to fly Starbug, if I could do that I wouldn’t put the controller down.

I had Project Eden, it was pretty good, kept crashing at a certain point so I stopped playing.

    >Btw who gives a fuck that Norman won?t be back as Holly? No-one. Holly shouldn?t return full stop (period). Holly became surplus with Kryten joining and should have been axed as a character from Backwards onwards.

Then they would have all died in ‘Back to Reality’.
Anyway I do disagree. I think Series VI was the perfect time for the character to go but I think her character is just as important through the 3 series, I mean we have the whole of ‘White Hole’ and a hell of a bunch of one liners, great ones. While Kryten replaced the intelligent side of Holly we have Hattie to replace the stupid side, it worked very well for the 3 Series and was ended at the perfect time.

No I disagree, I think they should cut every scene apart from the first episode and a shot of Red Dwarf over earth, you know, for closure.

Arn’t Sony making a virtual reality console?

This motion thing looks ok but really the only games I play are shooters like Crackdown and Halo, maybe the odd racing game, it really depends on the price if I could justify buying one.

I don’t like some of the re-casting in the latest series though I must say Zachary Quinto was born to play Rimmer.

Isn’t ‘Back to Earth’ Doug’s first shot at being a solo director? I think he did pretty fucking well considering.

The munchkin Rimmer came to mind but I didn’t think it was a refrence to that.

Not all of ‘Back to Earth’ or ‘Blue Harvest’ were Blade Runner or Star Wars jokes though. I mean just look at the couch gag in ‘Blue Harvest’, one of the best gags in the special and it is a joke anybody can get. Hell even the “Don’t get penisy” can give a luagh even if you don’t know it is mocking “Don’t get cocky”.
I had never watched Blade Runner when I watched ‘Back to Earth; but it didn’t stop me enjoying it, now after watching Blade Runner I may understand more of the jokes but not alot of them, some of them work on more than one level such as the giant headed Rimmer things in Part 3, I laughed at those when they came on screen without knowing it was a Blade Runner refrence. Hell even the scene of the gang running through the glass worked well without watching Blade Runner because it is clearly explained that it is a refrence to Blade Runner in the show.

    >The tired LoG comparison is rubbish, mind.

No I disagree, I mean LoG came up with an original concept that has never been used ever in anything and Red Dwarf just copies it exactly.

Oh wait a minute, that is bull shit. I have already had an argument with somebody on IMDB who thinks Red Dwarf copied of LoG.

Still SFX have not given the most idiotic review I have ever seen, this is from IMDB – “if u think red dwarf back to earth is good, ur a retarded fanboi with no life and zero good taste. nuff said.”
I and another poster commented on his intelligence, his view on opinions and his spelling and got called “a pair of retarded fanbois with no life and zero taste”.
They should get him to write for SFX.

I can’t believe the extras would get 2/5, I mean I have not seen them but looking at the past of the range I just can’t fathom how it could take a big dip.

As for 2.5/5 for the story, well that is just plain bull shit. I do know it gets bad reception but it doesn’t deserve that low a score.

    > Apparently she was the soothsayer in ?The Fires of Pompeii?.

Which is why I said –
“And she is someone joining a list of people to play a small part in Doctor Who and then go on to play a big part – Nicholas Courtney, Colin Baker, Lisa Bowerman, Freema Agyeman ect.”

I can add David Tennant to that list.

Yep, on many BBC videos it would have a dialing tone at the start making a little tune.
Other obscurities on VHS? Well there was that weird pirate who made pirate videos using coal and a hot branding iron. They had that weird trailer were the guy got sold a pirate version of Trainspotting and the guy says he can’t understand the film and the pirate video seller uses the excuse that they are all Scottish and it is meant to be like that.

    Good ol’ VHS.

Maybe they will dress Matt like Tennant, we won’t see his face, the Rani will then fire at the TARDIS and it will crash and the Doctor will get a bump on the noggin to regenerate.
