In Psirens Rimmers light bee is on battery backup but by Rimmerworld it survives at least 600 years …

While in Promised land it indicates that light bees can be charged with an AC like socket . If that’s the case why is it a worry when Lister is going through the list of Starbug issues due to them losing the Dwarf?

Yeah as I said my only thoughts are that the cage was only needed if it was outside on a planet.

In Kryten they use the Blue Midget, which Holly is in (maybe to sustain Rimmer).
I’m guessing the Midget connects to the Nova rather than the boys hopping over from ship to ship. Then Holly projects Rimmer across to the Nova 5 or something .

My only guess is that the projection cage was used solely for ‘outside’ jaunts . Holly must have projected him from the Blue Midget into the Nova 5.

Was it ever explained how Rimmer went from a Hologram Projection Cage to a portable Light bee?

My head canon would say Holly just was looking into ways to make it easier for Rimmer to travel outside the ship.

Holly to return. They could very easily make a story that could include both Norman and Hattie. Even switch between them. Say a Ratchet Droid or someone manages to restore Holly’s mainframe but cannot completely restore its visual projection protocols so Holly can appear as either Norman or Hattie. Or both on screen as an old married couple or something..

The lighting just needs to be less blue. The AA advert had it right.

Maybe some plot hole tie ups thrown in.

I still believe Doug intends to end Red Dwarf completely with either a movie or a feature length episode.

XIII … maybe a XIV and end with a feature length XV

    :) I can dream

What is Listers goal these days? His plan was to return to Earth but is it still his goal?
Or is Lister on the hunt for Kochanski these days? It’s not really specified anywhere.

    SPLIT

The Crew encounter a Ratchet Droid who finds a way to fix Holly. (Holly becomes regular member again). However, Holly’s Core Program has been corrupted and broken for so long that he has a head split personality (So both Norman and Hattie can appear anytime or act like a bickering couple) :)

    KOCHANSKI

the crew continue the search for Kochanski, they find a crashed Blue Midget. The original model version (the fix the continuity) and the last of its type.
Ends up becoming a variant of the pleasure GELF that tries to trap the crew through memories

I thought it was brilliant. The sets were gorgeous, the lighting felt like the old days . Other than a few continuity knocks I’d rate it very high.

That would be about right as the Dave shows end at the end of October then time to add all the goodies on the disc.

I hope there will be interactive menus, a swappable cover to match the others and possibly commentaries. As well as Making Ofs and Smeg ups etc. We’ve been so spoilt before

Thank you for joining up Ian. From the reviews I’ve seen on the App Store people have just played maybe the first part, assumed it’s all like that and left it. I’ve given a good review and I’m still playing it (trying to get better scores and upping my space miles) . Looking forward to all the added extras and improvements.

The update hasn’t changed much , other than in the car episode there are more Expanoids and less wondering civilians , bumping into barrels doesn’t hurt health as much as it did.

The driving levels are terrible. I like that it’s a variety of minigames and looking forward to what the others bring but the controls are horrid. I liked the look of the Starbug cockpit controls though.

I like how the titles always start with the ships (ship blowing up in VIII and location Shot in BTE slight exceptions) .
I’m guessing the Starbug leaving the planet and a shot of RD will kick of the lovely montage of crazy happenings to keep us guessing which episode they are in)

Ending in the Newey-Oldey logo :)

Its like the Simulant talking about an uprising. As she and the Columbus 3 are from the past this was probably way before many of the Simulants turned rogue.
As for rimmers hologram aging.. well since he didnt age in ‘Rimmerworld’ where he was stuck for hundreds of years on the planet. I speculated that maybe Rimmer got rebooted at somepoint and as Lister proabably didnt want to be the only one growing old on the ship (with the exception of Cat) Holly – or the ships computer probably reconfigured his lightbee.

Yeah i know what you mean . Looking at the opening credits it seems to be mostly the Midget so i guess that is the main transport vehicle this series.. its a bummer since i love Starbug. then again it has had the majority of the Series, so the Midget needs its moment :)

it looks a lot more confined.. but very pretty too! kinda has that busy ‘II’ look with all the monitors buzzing around. im guessing either they have moved home to another part of the ship or just has a big rennovation in the years prior.

    no starbug cockpit though :(

its more the fact he isnt fazed or shocked over the evolved Cat or Kryten, when Rimmer first saw Cat in series 1 he was suprised and shocked.. I assume Lister at some point would have filled rimmer in but still..

when you hear rimmer go ‘what do you know your a lowly chicken soup repairman’ (or something like that) its like he hasnt even asked where cat and Kryten came from, how they ended up with lister.. how he ended up being around kochanski.. etc… i just dont like loose ends,.. i know the show is the king of continuety errors but its when they try and piece it all together and it makes less sense my OCD chip goes into overdrive lol

i love the sciency stuff and yes maybe VII went a little OTT sometimes but i loved it. Agreed i wasnt a fan of Duct Soup but it had some cool bits (i love cockpit scenes – but thats just me i guess) . who knows how it would have been if Chris Barrie hadnt left the series at the time..

As for series 8, like i said earlier things bugged me like Rimmer not grasping or caring what Lister had been through plus having no real reaction to him first meeting the Cat and Kryten. I did like the cassandra episode though and some of Back In the Red.
