I hardly even know her! #102988 JamesTCParticipant >There are a number of loose ends from RTD?s Who (the Doctor?s ?daughter?, Master?s ring, River Song, etc.) I don’t really think Jenny is a loose end, it was actually changed at last minute when Moffat said they shouldn’t kill her, I doubt it is because he wants to use her (though would like to be proved wrong) more because it would be a bit evil to give the Doctor a daughter and then kill her in 45 minutes. The regeneration end was much more satisfying anyway (though that isn’t a popular opinion). With the Master’s ring well I wouldn’t consider that a loose end, the Master dies loads of times and then returns with no explanation, I think the ring is just a way to give any future scipts an easy way to bring him back, I mean just look at ‘Planet of Fire’, the Master dies at the end, then in ‘Mark of the Rani’ he is happily alive dressed as a scarecrow for no reason, then at the end of ‘Mark of the Rani’ he is stuck in the Rani’s TARDIS with a growing dinosaur, next story he returns with no explanation, then in ‘Survival’ he is stuck on the Cheetah planet after the Doctor is transported from it, then in ‘The TV Movie’ he is alive with no reason. The only real loose ends I can think of are stuff like the American president being killed by an alien infront of the entire world, but that got brushed under the carpet it seems. This change into Series One doesn’t instantly mean it is a new show, I mean when the 2005 series started we instantly knew it was the same show as it was in 1989 or 1996 with sly hints and returning aliens, it just means it is the same show with some changes. I don’t see a reason to get aggravated over numbers, what they call it officially is what I will call it. September 6, 2009 at 1:52 am in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102986 JamesTCParticipant Anyone getting ‘The Twin Dilemma’ which is released monday? Bloody awful episode, one of the worst, down there with ‘Time and the Rani’. Still a Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant commetary always proved to delight. The comic strip bonus feature and the archive material look really good as well as a shiney new restoration along with the info subtitles which will prove a good distraction to the 90% of the story which is utter crap. Wooh, I don’t do that much, have a go at a Colin Baker story! September 5, 2009 at 11:39 pm in reply to: Should I be Worried? #102983 JamesTCParticipant Maybe you are a clone of Danny Stephenson but you think you are the original, the original Danny is trying to get his life back from you starting with the Twitter account. August 31, 2009 at 4:12 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102911 JamesTCParticipant One will be Series 1, the other will be Series One. August 31, 2009 at 1:00 am in reply to: io9 post list of top 100 scifi shows, have big ugly face that’s as dumb as a butt #102897 JamesTCParticipant You can get Firefly for about ?10 at the moment, for 14 brilliant episodes it is a bargain. You can also get the film Serenity for only a few quid. August 30, 2009 at 11:58 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102892 JamesTCParticipant Why would you call it Series 31? Maybe Season 31 but not Series 31. August 30, 2009 at 9:09 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102884 JamesTCParticipant If a person looks at the 2010 series and it is Series 5 they will think they need to watch the previous 4 when that just isn’t true, in a world of shows with ongoing stories and arcs it is hard to go into many shows with Series 5, calling it Series One makes it easier for both the new production team and people who arn’t into the show. August 30, 2009 at 6:49 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102882 JamesTCParticipant > It is Series 1. It is being produced as Series 1. It is being promoted as Series 1. >Yes, and it?s a fucking ridiculous idea. I was talking about this on Gallifrey Base, I actually see it as a good idea, I posted this on the matter – If anything I think calling it Series One is a good idea, many people would see Series 5 and think “Hey, so I will have to go back and watch Series 1 first” when it is just not true, it is why they didn’t call the 2005 series Season 27, if somebody saw Season 27 they would just be confused, if they see Series 1 they think they are watching it from the start and the people who really care know it is not the start but a continuation. Simple. August 29, 2009 at 10:40 pm in reply to: Norman Lovett: Mental? #102864 JamesTCParticipant Maybe he wanted to copy Carpool but couldn’t find a guest. August 29, 2009 at 4:28 pm in reply to: io9 post list of top 100 scifi shows, have big ugly face that’s as dumb as a butt #102843 JamesTCParticipant Well I can’t really put down Buffy like some other shows that I watch (even the ones that I love), it is a wonderful show, just when I compare it to Red Dwarf it isn’t as good. August 29, 2009 at 3:17 pm in reply to: io9 post list of top 100 scifi shows, have big ugly face that’s as dumb as a butt #102841 JamesTCParticipant I loved Enterprise, certainly Season 3 and 4 were two of the best Trek has ever done. August 29, 2009 at 2:53 pm in reply to: io9 post list of top 100 scifi shows, have big ugly face that’s as dumb as a butt #102839 JamesTCParticipant I have seen Babylon 5, I tried to get into it watching the first 3 or 4 episodes but there none of the characters gripped me and there was one character I found really annoying. August 29, 2009 at 1:47 pm in reply to: io9 post list of top 100 scifi shows, have big ugly face that’s as dumb as a butt #102835 JamesTCParticipant 54? Lets take a look. Out of the shows I watch on the list. Torchwood beat Red Dwarf? Shit. Quantum Leap beat Red Dwarf? Nah. Angel beat Red Dwarf? What? Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles beat Red Dwarf? Hold on, I need to make a refrence to god. Dollhouse beat Red Dwarf? Actually I should be saying “Dollhouse beat Angel?” Futurama beat Red Dwarf? I don’t agree but I can see why it did. DS9 beat Red Dwarf? If a Trek series is to beat it I am glad it is that one. Babylon 5 beat Red Dwarf? I don’t watch Babylon 5, I just thought it needed a mention because I think it is shit. Buffy beat Red Dwarf? I have nothing to say, except Red Dwarf is obviously better. TNG beat Red Dwarf? I guess it would appear higher up, but I can easily say after re-watching every episode of TNG in that past 2 months that Red Dwarf is better! Firefly beat Red Dwarf? Fair enough, I am glad Firefly is getting recognition is deserves. Doctor Who beat Red Dwarf? I guess since after Red Dwarf, Doctor Who is my favourite show, I would say it deserves number two, but not when number one is… TOS, it beat Red Dwarf? Hold on, I have to go back in time and fight a god like being on a planet that is a replica of a certain period of past earth. Every show I mentioned is a show I like, except Babylon 5 that is. August 29, 2009 at 1:18 am in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102812 JamesTCParticipant Apart from the fact that the guy filming was underneath them in an elevator (I think) and it was done on a phone well that line of Matt’s was out of context, infact it would be a very good line thinking about what was said previously about the Daleks, offering people tea, if a Dalek comes up to him and says “Would you like tea” ofcourse he is going to go crazy and shout “I am the Doctor and you are the Daaaaaaaaaaleks” because he is just so confused as to why it wants to give him a cuppa. August 28, 2009 at 11:25 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102808 JamesTCParticipant I generally only consider everything up to the present as “ever”. If I say “I will own everything in the world” it doesn’t include things in the future! So nyeh! August 28, 2009 at 11:14 pm in reply to: Doctor? August 28, 2009 at 4:29 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102789 JamesTCParticipant According to set reports the Daleks now make the tea. Nick Briggs was seen on set too so that is a confirmation of his return. August 28, 2009 at 11:42 am in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102779 JamesTCParticipant It is Series 1. It is being produced as Series 1. It is being promoted as Series 1. August 28, 2009 at 2:11 am in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102767 JamesTCParticipant Some seem to think Rob Shearman is writing this Dalek story, frankly if they get Rob to write a story for Series 1 I will be over the moon, best Who writer since Robert Holmes. August 27, 2009 at 9:18 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102759 JamesTCParticipant Apparently it is a Mark Gatiss story. August 19, 2009 at 11:27 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102510 JamesTCParticipant According to DWM Colin Baker will gain a new companion in the BFA series next year, I say new, I mean old, Frazer Hines will reprise his role as Jaime to be his companion for the trilogy of audios in april. Shame I can’t afford much at the moment, I can barely get the DVDs! August 19, 2009 at 9:38 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102509 JamesTCParticipant The Narrator? Oh that is not good. I’d prefer him to be called Omega =) August 19, 2009 at 6:13 pm in reply to: oh i say #102501 JamesTCParticipant Wow! Didn’t think it would make that much. August 16, 2009 at 12:59 am in reply to: smeg. #102358 JamesTCParticipant Why have people put videos of them pissing on youtube? Do people just suddenly think “oh I want to watch a guy pissing” *click* *click* *click* “hurray!”. August 15, 2009 at 5:19 pm in reply to: oh i say #102346 JamesTCParticipant I think TOS has been down since about 1969, they did make those 6 films too though. August 15, 2009 at 5:15 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102344 JamesTCParticipant >While a mid-season regeneration would be a horrible idea, killing a companion in throwaway fashion would give an ?all bets are off? vibe to the series. * *Spoilers for the classic series* * * Much like Season 23 with Peri, though really that was dis-counted in part 14 of the story thanks to Colin (who openly admits his mistake) saying he didn’t think Peri should die, despite her being my favourite companion I still think if her end was kept that way it would be so much more brave and hard hitting, still it doesn’t detract from how good ‘Trial of a Time Lord’ parts 5-8 are which are my favourite episodes of the season, it was just so twisted and dark, you just didn’t know if the Doctor was the good guy or the bad guy and then you have the edge of seat moment of the Doctor being pulled back into the TARDIS to go to the court just as he is about to save Peri. August 14, 2009 at 10:53 pm in reply to: oh i say #102324 JamesTCParticipant ‘Infinity’ was mostly an expansion of the story told in the show, well told in a much funnier and interesting way to the show but still. I think if Doug is to turn a book into a show it would be ‘Last Human’, which would work rather well overall though I don’t think the budget could stretch to the scope of the novel, all those rogue droids, all those Gelf, all that sperm. August 14, 2009 at 7:41 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102320 JamesTCParticipant Well yeh, I think the episode filming now is episode 4 or 5 but still I can’t see a girl from the 1800s wearing THAT, though Jaime did wear a watch. August 14, 2009 at 6:38 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102317 JamesTCParticipant Like that woman in ‘The Dalek Masterplan’ who didn’t really work out so they killed her half way through the story despite only being in one story before. August 14, 2009 at 5:53 pm in reply to: oh i say #102311 JamesTCParticipant White Midget. The sets of Series VI are my favourite. August 14, 2009 at 5:15 pm in reply to: oh i say #102306 JamesTCParticipant I do hope we see Starbug, I love that little ship. August 14, 2009 at 4:57 pm in reply to: oh i say #102299 JamesTCParticipant I don’t think it would ruin the show though, if anything it would give more potential for comedy, imagine that they were making Series VI now and they said that Red Dwarf would be gone, how would we react to that, I mean the main setting gone! But it made one of the best Series in the history of Dwarf. August 14, 2009 at 4:42 pm in reply to: oh i say #102296 JamesTCParticipant I think the first story to be told is the Kochanski/Lister situation, I wouldn’t actually be opposed to them getting together, I mean it will be nice for Lister to be happy. August 14, 2009 at 4:40 pm in reply to: Doctor? I hardly even know her! #102295 JamesTCParticipant I doubt from what she is wearing in filming that Amy is from the 1800s. August 14, 2009 at 11:08 am in reply to: Doctor? August 14, 2009 at 11:06 am in reply to: oh i say #102286 JamesTCParticipant Red Dwarf, Series IX, has a nice ring to it. August 13, 2009 at 7:42 pm in reply to: Doctor?
