It definitely picks up. The 3rd and 4th episodes are really good and Jamie’s character gets a lot more interesting and likeable. I think Michelle Ryan is does a brilliant job, though. She’s got a great accent.

Also, I think she’s one of the most beautiful women in the entire world, but maybe I’m just odd.

I forget the order but I’ve voted Dwarf, Ted, Blackadder, Lost and West Wing. It may not be entirely accurate if I thought about it really carefully, but it represents a nice balance between comedy, drama, shows I’ve known all my life and shows I’ve only very recently learnt to adore.

As much as I’m pleased Dave is almost constantly repeating Red Dwarf, it does seems almost deliberately insulting to do it like this.

It happpens to me, too, but not all the time. As far as I can see it’s not a problem with our CMS. It attaches ‘#new’ after the URL which will take you to the first element with a ‘new’ id. Obviously something’s going slightly wrong in that latter part, which I’d assume is a browser side problem.

Ehhhh, it was ok. I had a really hard time liking the Northern Goast and as monkey has pointed out, the soundtrack was horrendous in a “look how COOL we are!” sort of way. As far as things on BBC Three go, though, it’s not too shabby and it’s certainly got some potential, so I’ll root for a commission.

I usually take the rough with the smooth, even if I know an episode I’m about to watch is a bit bobbins. I’ll be coming up to my second watching of season 4 again soon, but I don’t think I’ll skip it. It’s such a painfully brilliant season that I’ll just make sure I watch the episodes either side of it in the same sitting :)

It’s interesting, actually, that CJ really does end up feeling like the main character, especially after we lose Sam. She gets two introspective episodes and an ever so slightly improbable promotion to Chief of Staff, where as everyone else seems to be treated far more evenly. Allison Janney must have one hell of an agent.

I know what you mean. For a show that’s managed to build such brilliant characters in the middle of what can only be described as a cacophony for three years, it seems so heavy handed and limiting to suddenly show so much of one character’s family problems. I remember Sorkin saying something in an interview about The West Wing showing what happens before and after what you normally see of The White House, and I like that they did that with the characters, too. Only showing snippets of events that other show would dedicate episode upon episode to. We didn’t see a long and painful discussion between Sam and his dad in Somebody’s Going to Emergency, Somebody’s Going to Jail and that was a million times more effective for it.
