I was able to find digital versions of them online, then to my surprise found someone selling bootleg copies, so I grabbed one. To my dismay, the quality on the DVD was much worse than the digital files; it was like trying to watch a scrambled channel. If anyone is that desperate to see it, contact me and I can hook you up with the digital file. Aside from that site, does anyone own any props with writing on it? August 23, 2012 at 4:29 am in reply to: Fat bastard G&T member attempts to walk a marathon for charity #117218 KarnieParticipant Done! Good luck, Ian, you smeeeee heeeeeee! August 21, 2012 at 1:44 pm in reply to: Help with a book project #117509 KarnieParticipant @PlasticPercy: Thanks, ultimately it worked out for the best, as I prefer hardcopies anyway, but if it turned out to be the difference between spending $120 on a book or the torrents, I would have definitely taken you up on it. As far as the timeline, it’s funny you say that, our company started by doing timelines, but when I decided to do Red Dwarf I wasn’t convinced there would be enough date-specific material to be able to do a comprehensive chronology. If I ever do decide to do it, you’ll be the first to know… =) Thanks! August 21, 2012 at 1:38 pm in reply to: Help with a book project #117513 KarnieParticipant OK, PHEW! I actually have both the US Region 1 DVDs and the remastered Series I-III DVDs (dubbed the Bodysnatcher Collection, which was never released in America), so hopefully there’s nothing I’m missing there. August 20, 2012 at 2:22 pm in reply to: Vogans take over Dave! #117267 KarnieParticipant Vaginas take over Dave??? I’m in! August 20, 2012 at 1:34 pm in reply to: Help with a book project #117270 KarnieParticipant Ben: Thanks, the Roleplaying game and all associated materials have actually all been obtained; the Series Sourcebook was a particular pain to find, as most places were selling it for upwards of $120 or more due to its rarity, but finally found it for list price. Thumbing through it, I was amused at how much material it will actually end up adding, particularly the Sourcebook, which has in-depth profiles of every minor character seen in the series. And yes, the playable iguana and rat races will be included as alternate universe entries… =) Alex: Oh yes, I plan on checking out every major fan site eventually, if there’s anything I’ve learned so far, it’s to not overlook ANYTHING; I’ve found entries in concept art! I’m mostly looking for in-universe material, so things like viewing figures for the show are not really needed for entries, but still cool to know, so I’ll be sure to check it out. I’ve listened to the episodes of Son of Cliché included on the DVDs, but I’m torn; My co-worker says I should include them in the book, but I consider them just outside the realm of canon enough to question its inclusion. I’ll probably go back and forth on that one. I’d also like to add to the list possible differences between versions; I know the official site has an article on the differences between the Czech and English versions, but if anyone knows any differences in other languages or conversions, that would be great to include as well. Thanks! August 17, 2012 at 1:07 pm in reply to: Team Fortress 2 #117103 KarnieParticipant Never got into TF2, but I’m still looking for partners to finish up Portal2 Co-op! I hate leaving games unfinished. August 15, 2012 at 7:34 pm in reply to: What is the best thing… #117584 KarnieParticipant My favorite part is “All scenes are presented essentially ‘as shit.’” “Any resemblance to real persons is purely coincidental…. our condolences”. August 8, 2012 at 7:26 pm in reply to: Things found through Red Dwarf Google Alerts… #117719 KarnieParticipant “There’s a six-month waiting list for turds to suddenly appear, every time I am near. “ August 8, 2012 at 7:22 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf Pop Culture Explained #117718 KarnieParticipant This site says Rimmer sings the Dead March from “Saul” by Handel in Future Echoes. It’s actually “Marche Funébre” by Chopin. In case you were wondering. Yeah, I’ve found a few errors while using the site, I’ve never bothered to write to correct them since it hasn’t been updated in eons August 8, 2012 at 1:32 pm in reply to: Things found through Red Dwarf Google Alerts… #117701 KarnieParticipant “Hem’rhoids! Everybody needs good Hem’rhoids..!” Dammit, I’m not even going to try now. Kudos! August 8, 2012 at 1:19 am in reply to: Somebody Shoot me! #116798 KarnieParticipant If you’re ‘starting’ to like it because you only now just started watching episodes, then you’re forgiven; if you’re starting to like it because you’ve been watching all along and only now think the episodes are getting good, then death is too good for you. August 5, 2012 at 2:51 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf Pop Culture Explained #117455 KarnieParticipant This is the one I use for research: http://www.red-rose.com/www.cobalt.demon.co.uk/alt.tv.red-dwarf/reflist-tv-255.html#S1E4 August 1, 2012 at 8:10 pm in reply to: Question for those who saw an episode (or more) filmed #117340 KarnieParticipant Are you trying to say I’ve got a big butter? July 30, 2012 at 1:12 pm in reply to: Kryten’s Red Dwarf X message #117232 KarnieParticipant “It’s almost as if this site doesn’t have a front page.” I feel your pain… I’m constantly being asked questions about things that can easily be found on my website with even a cursory glance… July 25, 2012 at 1:46 pm in reply to: Font-astic #116751 KarnieParticipant It closely resembles Eurostile Bold condensed. edit: Sorry, I quickly read the post and thought you were referring to the font on the actual ship. Internally, yes, most of it looks like Eurostile extended April 30, 2012 at 3:13 pm in reply to: He’s refusing the blindfold #116465 KarnieParticipant It has a certain “noosey” theme to it…… April 20, 2012 at 1:30 pm in reply to: Vindaloovian vs. Vindalooian #116373 KarnieParticipant **I’m glad we’ve sorted that out. We wouldn’t want you to make an unfortunate faux pas during your visit to Vindaloovia. You say that as if you don’t believe I have a very good reason for asking…. ;) April 18, 2012 at 3:05 pm in reply to: Vindaloovian vs. Vindalooian #116335 KarnieParticipant Quite the literal bunch, aren’t ya… =) Let’s just say a lot more hits came up on Google with it spelled with a ‘v’…. Anyway, A friend of mine pointed out the Chapter title on the DVD also says “Vindaloovians” so I guess I’ll go with that, and just assume nobody actually proofreads official Red Dwarf books. Thanks for playing! March 19, 2012 at 3:42 pm in reply to: Custom Mount for Series 8 Gun Prop #115981 KarnieParticipant @Ori-STUDFARM: Yeah, if you look close I had actually stenciled a “13” in yellow next to the patch, then painted over it because I wasn’t thrilled with it, unfortunately you can still kind of see it through the paint, I just figure it gives it a more weathered look. =) Eventually if I can figure out if it ever actually showed up on screen, I might print an image of the screengrab alongside and make some kind of plaque, but that’s later on down the road. @Phil: Thanks! @HelloMabel: that would be in my living room above my collectibles case. Dibbleypedia You’re welcome. January 22, 2012 at 3:20 pm in reply to: Attention Ladymen and Gentlebeans – Your opinions please… #114438 KarnieParticipant Smegbook. January 17, 2012 at 8:11 pm in reply to: Need help identifying a prop #114307 KarnieParticipant Yep, apparently they have more than one.. =) The one they ship you is not the same as the one in the picture, the markings are different. It’s not even the same one as the photo on the COA. January 15, 2012 at 3:14 pm in reply to: Need help identifying a prop #114247 KarnieParticipant @ RedDwarfFan2982: LOL, most likely not Lister’s, although they were probably interchangeable, meaning he might have used it at one point. The point is, I’m looking for visual proof, a high-definition screenshot or production still, that I can use to match the markings of the one I have. @JEZZMUND: LOL, the only reason I have it is because I’m in the U.S. and it was much cheaper than most due to a new law stating they can’t ship replica guns within the UK, effectively making it illegal for you to obtain one. So even if I wanted to, I couldn’t ship it to you.. =) November 1, 2011 at 10:54 pm in reply to: Who played left-back for Man United in the 1968 European Cup Final? #113216 KarnieParticipant Thanks Jonathan, that’s actually the script notes I was referring to that got me researching the info. It’s for a book I’m currently working on, and we tend to be real nitpickers for accuracy, so rather than get the info wrong, I just may leave it out altogether if I can’t verify.
