Chris was also a bit heavier during this time, so that also could account for the “chubbiness”.

Well, poo. Here I have been trying to distract myself by doing something useful all day until showtime, only to find that I’ve wasted the energy that I was going to use to do nothing. I feel robbed, but on the other hand, my bathroom is sparkling.

The last time I saw Dean Stockwell in anything was NCIS: New Orleans (with Scott Bakula) in 2014, and apart from the fact that he was 79 then, he didn’t look too healthy. I was kind of shocked at how sickly he looked. :(

I haven’t checked lately, but it was on Netflix here in the US for awhile. I’ve never rewatched any of it simply for the fact that they didn’t include the pilot episode, and a couple ofl key episodes of the first season. If you had never seen it before, it wouldn’t make any sense. I was kind of torqued about that, being really enthused about seeing episodes I hadn’t watched since it first aired.

…I peeked in, and it appears that they’re all there now. Good, now I have something to watch. I’m in a serious Show Hole right now.

I grew up knowing it was a rude slang word for a little girl’s anatomy. I had adult women in my family refer to it as “twat” and breasts as “titties” at a young age. Oddly, that seemed to stop altogether by the time I was an adolescent. I don’t know if it was because they didn’t think the usage would matter around little kids, or if it was some kind of culture shift. Use of the words nowadays is considered crude and vulgar in general. What I think is odd is how the word fanny is considered a cute, polite way of referring to a woman’s butt here, but it’s a big no-no on the other side of the pond and Australia.

Wow, I forgot about this thread while digging around for another one. (We talk about a lot of…stuff…here. Yeah. Finding stuff in the forums is interesting when you can’t remember exactly what to search for. :P )

Well, obviously, that trip never happened, but my bestie is looking to ditch her worthless cheating husband, is looking at coming into some money apart from her divorce, and has told me that as her gift to me, she’s getting my passport. She wants to redo a trip she took with his family to Germany (visualize taking the Clampetts to Neuschwanstein Castle, and the MIL complaining about the lack of handicap ramps, and citing the Americans With Disabilities Act…they were that clueless and horrible) so she can get the bitter taste out of her mouth, but we also are planning England still, and maybe France and/or Scotland/Ireland. I’m hoping (fingers crossed) that we can plan our trip to coincide with this DJ, since we didn’t make the last one. I know circumstances for some of you have changed since then, but I would still very much like to connect with a few of you should we make it there!

One night drinking wine, I came upon a thread
That I had forgotten and now seemed dead.
    I drank a little more,
    And realized that before
I should have had more in my head.

(Okay, so it’s a horrible limerick. I’ve had a bottle and don’t care. Cheers. Now revive this thread. Some of you were good at this.)

Obviously, American TV must be absolute shit then because I end up watching more stuff made by the BBC than I do by any of our major networks over here. But then, I’m probably not saying anything anyone doesn’t already know.

I really like the slickness of McAleeCh’s logos, and applaud Si’s concept of a RD/DW-ish logo, but truly, I love Pete’s design the best. It makes me feel all warmish.

I actually saw the Remastered versions way before I saw the originals, and I instantly hated the Remastered afterward. Not only were the sound effects stupid and distracting, once I found out what scenes had been cut and I realized how horribly some of them had been done, I was kind of mad about it. Most of what was changed had been fine in my opinion, so I have never really understood the logic behind most of what was done.

^^Agreed. If Dave had been trying to commission more episodes way back in 2009 and everyone finally managed to get their ducks in a row to finally accomplish two more series, then I don’t see why there couldn’t or wouldn’t be a RD XVIII…unless someone had an aversion to the number 13 or Doug decides to finalize everything at the end of XVII. (If he did, I’d be heartbroken, but reality says it’s gotta end somewhere sometime.)

It’s still on my bucket list. After a horrible year of failed jobs and just scraping by, there was no way to save for us, either. We’re in a much better place now, and I pointed out to my husband that we need to go next year or at least once in the future. He didn’t say no. He also could have been humoring me…but maybe not…

As I recall, the Netflix version didn’t have the white card/black card scene in it, but the DVD does. I can’t remember if mine are the remastered version (hubby took off with them to the new flat), but I think they are.

I don’t consider this a reliable source. I must hear it from Robert or Craig first, then listen to the denials fly. Then, and only then, will I know that it might not be happening or possibly has will possibly happened. Or something like that.

Believe it or not, Indian food isn’t something that you readily find on the shelves here, at least in our part of the US. Like Pete, you mostly find Mexican or Tex-Mex, followed by various Asian things. If you want to eat Indian, mostly you have to find a restaurant, and then it has to be a *good* restaurant.

Honestly, the best curry I’ve had so far is at a Thai restaurant not far from my college. I could drink that yellow curry sauce with a straw.

My daughter really loves V, but I got bored with it pretty quickly. I’ve tried to watch it twice now, and just gave up on it. I don’t know exactly why, but it just didn’t grip me. I guess I agree with Seb in that it’s missing the point, and also that it feels like a rip off of Phantom of the Opera in a sense. Maybe I’d get more out of it with the graphic novel.

I’m very intrigued by the sound of Daytripper and Terra. I’ll have to look into those. I haven’t bought a really good book in awhile.
