    TONK RATS

It’s literally just “Star Knot” backwards but yet mildly more fitting of a title for the episode. Can we please call the race of alternate rats Tonk Rats? Please?

Back to Earth Part One seems important to understanding the massive reaction to Holly (and why he’s not there the rest of the time)

Fear not, Red Dwarf fans – comedy’s favourite space hoppers ARE on course for another series of the intergalactic comedy.

Oh, thank god. Now I don’t have to be afraid of that, I can go back to my normal worst fear of elevator accidents.

I do know that Fathers and Suns would be necessary, as well as the fact that pretry much every episode has a The End reference. Also, every single episode shown in the smear ads.

In the US, we never got reversible covers on the new ones, but at least as consolation we don’t have to have that ugly straight-up-and-down massive season number on the side.

a set or sequence of related television or radio programmes.

Looking two lines later in this google definition lists “program” and “show” as synonyms, so this definition quite literally does refer to a whole show, not a British season equivalent.

Seeing as I don’t think this is getting resolved unless Doug himself speaks on it, I do have an interesting other question: what would we be fighting about if the first series after BtE had been entitled series IX?

in reply to: Thoughts on the Series XII Flipside Cover? #224728

Is it really series IX? Apart from the fact that it’s not, it’s not really even a series. If somebody asks me about the seasons of BoJack Horseman, I’m not going to go “Well there was season 1, the second season which was the Horsin’ Around credits, then season 3 which was the Christmas special, then the fourth season which they called season 2 and the fifth which they called season 3, then finally the sixth season which they called season 4.”

Not everything has to be a season, and I am permanently annoyed with whomever designed that French cover.

We’re aiming for a release very soon, so I’ll keep you posted!

I am attempting to convey my excitement without sounding sarcastic but this is like my fourth time rewriting this post for that purpose so I suppose I’ll just say that I am excited and that is not sarcastic.

    Yikes, that didn’t work either.

What if all 1,169 people on Red Dwarf, as well as Holly, Frankenstein, and Kryten had all been Irene E?

Could a lot of the tension between people in The End be explained by the stress of George’s death?

Why does Cat use “Frankenstein” as an insult in Quarantine?

What if they had gone to deep space in the twelfth century instead of the fifteenth?

If Red Dwarf barely has the power to run two holograms, wouldn’t it take a damn lot of eneto run an entire Holoship?

Wait, whoops, some of those were serious questions.

    THE END:

    Plenty of ladies die.

    CONFIDENCE AND PARANOIA:

Lister wants to bring back a dead lady.

    BETTER THAN LIFE:

A dead lady reads the news.

    PARALLEL UNIVERSE:

A crazy dead lady tries to seduce Rimmer, but instead ends up weirding him out.

    POLYMORPH:

Something pretends to be a crazy dead lady and seduces Lister.

    CAMILLE:

Something accidentally pretends to be a crazy dead lady to seduce Rimmer.

    HOLOSHIP:

A crazy dead lady seduces Rimmer.

    QUARANTINE:

A crazy dead lady gets Rimmer sick.

    PSIRENS:

Something pretends to be a crazy dead lady to seduce Lister and crush Kryten.

    EMOHAWK: POLYMORPH II:

Lister won’t have sex with a crazy lady so her dad sends his pet after him for revenge.

    RIMMERWORLD:

It’s a lady, I think, but with Chris Barrie’s face.

    OUROBOROS:

Remember that crazy lady Lister didn’t want to have sex with? Apparently she really wanted that sex, so much so that she tore the fabric of reality apart over it. Also, a dead lady is no longer dead.

    BLUE:

Lister wishes he could seduce a crazy dead man.

    BEYOND A JOKE:

Kryten cries because he hates a crazy dead lady and also a less crazy less dead one.

    EPIDEME:

A crazy dead lady gets Lister sick.

BACK IN THE RED PART ONE:

Numerous dead ladies, some presumably crazy since that’s how VIII works, are no longer dead.

    PETE PART TWO:

Nobody ever asked the dinosaur, so this episode could very well belong.

    BACK TO EARTH PART TWO:

Rimmer kills a crazy dead lady.

    BACK TO EARTH PART THREE:

Turns out that this crazy dead lady was fake. Surprise!

    ENTANGLED:

    A crazy lady dies.

    SAMSARA:

A crazy lady and her lover program themselves to death.

    OFFICER RIMMER:

A presumably crazy presumably dead lady says “gosh”.

    CAN OF WORMS:

Something pretends to be a crazy lady to seduce Cat.

    TIMEWAVE:

A crazy lady flops on a telephone because she is sad and that’s how you dial a telephone.

    Just as a few examples.

30 minutes of extras will be a feature entitled “more entertaining than Timewave” and will be half an hour of all sorts of incredibly entertaining things like Craig squawking around at the end of Quarantine, the entire cast saying that people didn’t like Back to Earth because they didn’t have laughs, and the scene where Hollister explains Pete’s full meal and what happened next stretched out to take seven minutes.

Would Trojan really benefit from a weak subplot about faking dyslexia? Would Marooned really benefit from that scene of them all playing poker in the beginning? Et cetera.

I rewatched Quarantine recently. It’s got loads of the problems we mock newer episodes for. Even “telekinewhatinesis?” reminded me of some of the problems with “spit on her wrist”, but clearly not all of them.

    KRYTEN

The crew take in a bit of a dumb droid after obsessing over some dead women and pretend to care about him before they stop caring about him once he fucks off on a year-long bike ride when suddenly they start caring about him again because he died but then he is undied by Lister, who can apparently repair mechanoids from being shattered now, except he can’t even put a DIY android together just a few months later when they really care about this mechanoid.
