We all want a proper forum, we’ve just been talking about it behind Cappsy’s back.

Well, we would if we had a proper forum.

The drama was undermined by the goofs of the “Only the good die young!” groin kick (which I did kind of enjoy, not gonna lie) and “The Smeg It Is”, which means it pales in comparison to Out of Time, but still.

The drama of the moment is supposed to be undermined to be fair.

I’ve just read this and my brain/Googling has gone from “Aw Tim Whitnall has died” to “No, wait, the post-Ringo Thomas & Friends voice has died, aw” to “Wait, Tim Whitnall has done Thomas & Friends (and hasn’t died)?” so that was quite the mental ride.

Yeah, I think this pretty much means that Grant Naylor Productions is not responsible for the production of Red Dwarf any more. I presume they won’t get a credit in The Promised Land, and I don’t see a mention of them in the initial press releases (it’s all BabyCow). I wonder if the “About” page on Red Dwarf.co.uk needs an update too. #confused.

Dunno, for me, worst possible episode would have to be some Skydivers-level poor acting, dialogue etc. and Taiwan Tony calling me out personally by name to stop taking racism so seriously in a rant that goes on for the full length of the show that mocks me for ever being emotionally invested in Red Dwarf.

    Thanks, Timewave.

And then like that the ban on synths is lifted to no fanfare.

It’s not like Picard now being one could be conductive to drama or anything.

I don’t have much invested in this franchise so meh. I did like the Data stuff but an episode or so ago I realised I’d rather the show mostly revolved around Rios and a crew of himself for story around a ban on artificial people.

It was more meant as an excuse for us not having any detailed analysis like we do for other things.

That’s the way I (Philip J.) read it, for what that’s worth.

Not that I do much of it anyway but it can be a little off-putting speculating about something half the room seems to already know about. Complaining that some people got to see episodes first as part of a free random lottery invitation, however, is silly, insecure fan entitlement.

I liked the regenerating Cyberman (wish it had changed appearance though) and the Master.

I can lol no the Doctor being the Chosen One while awaiting the undo but it is another example of, I presume, Chibnall’s dodgy politics. Had taken the Time Lord Cybermen to be reanimated corpses inside so thought it was good way to avoid the death particle being a mass killing by the Doctor if she was just oblierating dead tissue then the show made a point of saying they were people. So… oh.

    Murdering Cybermen also cures dyspraxia.

I guess most people got bored of RHLSTP at some point.

I haven’t but I take breaks from it. Surprised the emergency question didn’t make it onto here until I posted it though.

I object that Holly has a neck hole that can be engaged with. I posit that somewhere in the bowels of Red Dwarf there’s just a screen with an arse doing a damn fine moon impression on it.

Doctor Who’s not on there until Boxing Day and that’s all the available episodes up through 1989.

My *(no Christmas Specials) was supposed in jest. There are holes in several shows on The List though.

Seems like a soft launch anyway since @Britbox_UK has tweeted only once, on launch day, to say they have launched.

You’da thunk they’d time the 30 day free trial to run out closer to the Who launch. I don’t care about soaps but it’s odd that EastEnders or Coronation Street aren’t represented.

Red Dwarf is now on BritBox in the UK.

I’m slowly making my way through a rewatch of Voyager while viewing DS9 and Discovery for the first (and likely only) time.

    Also DS9 spoilers:

Having bashirisshapeshifter two-parter right before an episode about using the character as a template to make copies of them throughout the quieter parts of Starfleet is not great planning.

An excellent and inventive suggestion, sir, with just two tiny drawbacks: a) We don’t have any jet-powered hoverbeds; and b) there’s no such thing as jet-powered hoverbeds outside the fictional unlimited Red Dwarf budget.
