You’re just realizing that? ;-) August 8, 2013 at 6:28 am in reply to: COSTCO #208998 anniescribeParticipant That is accurate, all but the pizza name, LOL. Even my picky friend from out of state was impressed. Any of you come through, I’ll eat there with you. August 5, 2013 at 12:52 pm in reply to: Doctor number 12 incoming Sunday #208956 anniescribeParticipant Not familiar with this fellow, but it’s good to see an older, wiser type in the role. If I can’t have Chris back. July 26, 2013 at 6:18 pm in reply to: Sebby C #208871 anniescribeParticipant OK, just to stick my nose in and add another dimension to this (or yelling, depending on the outcome), how do you feel about the movie version of “V” as compared/opposed to the graphic novel? I haven’t read it, I’ve only seen the movie. Do they have much in common? And what about quality comparison? July 22, 2013 at 12:34 pm in reply to: Worlds End #208832 anniescribeParticipant Loved Hot Fuzz immediately. The moment where it clicked for me was at the bad play where the cast are singing from the Baz Luhrman movie and Nick’s and Danny’s faces. I laughed myself sick. Stupid epiphanies with dumb timing. I just want an episode with Cat race survivors …) July 9, 2013 at 1:08 pm in reply to: This is a Dwarfcast….or is it? #208716 anniescribeParticipant If 8 had been the end of the show, I’d be kind of pissed at the change. But knowing there’s more after and it’s back to more dramady and sci-fi allows me to think of 8 as a kind of wacky house party “break” for all involved. Just don’t ask me who’s Kid and who’s Play. July 7, 2013 at 4:53 am in reply to: This is a Dwarfcast….or is it? #208699 anniescribeParticipant True that. You can tell the level of excitement of my frugal life by how glad I am to get my weekly download of this podcast. :-P Now that they like 7 (so far at least), I wonder what they’ll think about yet another drastic tonal change for 8 … July 6, 2013 at 3:36 pm in reply to: Happy birthday, Danny! #208688 anniescribeParticipant Pecos has that effect. Some say he was born of a volcano and a tornado. Happy birthday Danny, too! I don’t mind it; it’s my least favorite series, but even “meh” Red Dwarf fares better than the best episode of Two and a Half Men. I even like Kochanski and don’t mind so much that Lister’s a genetic cul-de-sac. But I’m kind of surprised the newbies are responding so positively. But in a good way. I can’t wait ’til they hear the audio of IWCD. That’s always a pleasant experience in especially the initial listen. He answered something about this thing out on the wing … and Dick (John Lithgow, who was in the remake of that TZ some 30 years later) replies, “I had the same thing happen to me!” June 28, 2013 at 6:30 pm in reply to: RIP Richard Matheson #208575 anniescribeParticipant Why do they call the one guy a cat? That’s no cat. Where’s his pointy ears and tail, and whiskers, and he should be parading around on all fours! June 28, 2013 at 6:27 pm in reply to: This is a Dwarfcast….or is it? #208574 anniescribeParticipant One of my favorite bits of the Introcast was their disclaimer that essentially boiled down to “yeah, yeah, ya filthy animals, we know Chris Barrie shows up again ’cause we’ve seen RDX DVDs, so we’ll hold off on crying just now that he’s gone.” LOL. June 28, 2013 at 4:13 pm in reply to: RIP Richard Matheson #208568 anniescribeParticipant Don’t forget all the beer and curries they eat, too. And cold soup! Who would eat cold soup?? June 28, 2013 at 4:01 pm in reply to: This is a Dwarfcast….or is it? #208565 anniescribeParticipant That is the most awesome thing I’ve heard all month. And that’s even taking into account the news story last week about the Christians vs. the atheists in a volleyball tournament to raise money for children’s charity in Kansas City. June 28, 2013 at 12:57 pm in reply to: Fav Twilight Zone show original series #208560 anniescribeParticipant That fucking hitchhiker one. I saw it the first time when I was 11 – I was watching it at night and my damn mother, who’d been gone to the store, drove up quietly and saw through the window I was watching it and of course recognized it. And so she sneaked to the window and tapped at it at a bad moment, and then I couldn’t watch it again for a few years. It still gives me the willies to watch it. June 27, 2013 at 7:02 pm in reply to: FSM #208524 anniescribeParticipant Kansas has given us so much more than just the need for Pastafarianism – anti-evolutionism, misogyny, Westboro Baptist, various and assorted other wingnuts … ;-) June 27, 2013 at 6:12 pm in reply to: FSM #208522 anniescribeParticipant That’s because we also have enough back-facing nuts who required it to be hauled out and legitimized to try to shut them up. June 27, 2013 at 1:33 pm in reply to: The Name of The Doctor #208460 anniescribeParticipant Well, that’s just silly anyway. It’s better to spend your time looking stuff up you like that contents you rather than expending effort going around deliberately hating on other people’s likes. After 17 years online I still don’t get why there are adults who don’t realize this. I guess their own lives aren’t hard enough. I sound like somebody’s mother. Mine probably. June 27, 2013 at 12:50 pm in reply to: RIP Richard Matheson #208458 anniescribeParticipant At least now I know the name of Charlotte’s doppelgänger … June 27, 2013 at 11:59 am in reply to: RIP Richard Matheson #208456 anniescribeParticipant Tanya, where did you get that photo of my friend Charlotte? Either that or you look EXACTLY like her. It’s uncanny. June 27, 2013 at 11:57 am in reply to: The Name of The Doctor #208455 anniescribeParticipant I watch Who to keep up with my sister, who is a fan. Kind of like I do with Supernatural. I wouldn’t listen to introcasts about those like I do Dwarf. If I really wanted to make enemies, I’d admit I don’t like Star Wars. Oops. June 27, 2013 at 1:15 am in reply to: The Name of The Doctor #208441 anniescribeParticipant It’s a red-letter day for Pecos – he’s got more people here once again saying shut up WITH him than, as Granny would’ve said, AGIN ‘im. ;-) June 25, 2013 at 11:38 pm in reply to: Google search terms #208422 anniescribeParticipant I couldn’t watch the reddwarf sextape because I no longer have a VHS player. /sadface June 24, 2013 at 12:55 pm in reply to: PLOTS FOR SERIES 11 #208387 anniescribeParticipant Hey, as each actor has at least one son; they could film flashbacks that way. Although it’d probably get weird when Lister is almost twice as tall and years older than Rimmer … but that can be explained away by timey-wimey. Or that Rimmer’s boothing has just been working really super well … June 24, 2013 at 12:49 pm in reply to: Sebby P #208385 anniescribeParticipant To be fair, I guess it’s hard not to be drawn to the one post with eleventy million comments … June 21, 2013 at 4:48 am in reply to: This is a Dwarfcast….or is it? #208324 anniescribeParticipant I would’ve busted a gut if they’d gotten “moose” right. June 18, 2013 at 1:08 pm in reply to: And now a game everybody at G&T can enjoy… #208280 anniescribeParticipant I think ACS is rather a Midwest movie – other Midwesterners I know largely like it and can relate their childhoods to a lot in it. That’s not to say nobody else CAN, but I do think region plays a little into how substantive you find it. Also, your time period – I grew up in the 70s, but we lived in a rural area and I spent most of my time with grandparents and their friends, so there’s a lot in ACS that matches stories they used to tell to entertain me as a little kid, from the 1930s and 40s. June 18, 2013 at 3:12 am in reply to: And now a game everybody at G&T can enjoy… #208273 anniescribeParticipant See, I knew all the words by the time I was five. June 14, 2013 at 5:18 am in reply to: Danny S #208202 anniescribeParticipant Uh … We could eat at St. Elmo’s, with it’s world-famous sob-inducing, burning shrimp sauce. Then it’s off to the largest, ugliest indoor football stadium in North America for churc- I mean, football. Then of course, there’s the speedway, or some shopping. For you there’s the symphony led by maybe the youngest conductor in North America, or one of our several playhouses. Actually, it’s pretty good around here … if you have regular disposable income to work with. Which can be a problem. :-) June 14, 2013 at 5:11 am in reply to: And now a game everybody at G&T can enjoy… #208201 anniescribeParticipant Mabel, you ignorant zcunt … June 10, 2013 at 3:28 am in reply to: Danny S #208178 anniescribeParticipant That’s because the field trips are expensive as shit, no matter how fun they are, for some of us. :-P Author Replies Viewing 50 replies - 51 through 100 (of 275 total) 1 2 3 4 5 6
