As true as this is, you also have to consider that that’s the proper name for the product. December 30, 2016 at 9:52 pm in reply to: Spoilery Thread Deleted #219041 flanl3Participant How dare anybody spoil that it’s going to be six episodes. December 30, 2016 at 5:47 pm in reply to: Spoilery Thread Deleted #219039 flanl3Participant I can simply not believe that twat came on here and told us that Red Dwarf XII will be stylized as ‘Red Dwarf XII’. Jesus Christ. It makes me sick that someone would give away something of at importance. December 27, 2016 at 8:31 pm in reply to: Spoilery Thread Deleted #219021 flanl3Participant Thank god you deleted that thread, I knew it was against the spoiler policy to reveal that in XII every episode is just half an hour of Kill Crazy running around the prison deck with no other people in sight. …crap, now you have to delete this post, too. December 25, 2016 at 5:10 am in reply to: The BBC Broadcasts Guide #218947 flanl3Participant Beauty. I read it last night, but had to sleep before I could respond. Totally brilliant. A recommended read for the very few who will actually ever look at this thread. December 25, 2016 at 5:07 am in reply to: "we might as well do a scene-by-scene ‘hold on this doesn’t make sense’ thread." #218946 flanl3Participant And the hologrammatic pile of random crap Rimmer crashes into in The End: Remastered. But wait! This is scene-by-scene! What are you doing in Series III when we haven’t even gotten to Lister entering stasis? December 23, 2016 at 7:11 am in reply to: What if Red Dwarf had started in 2016 and not 1987? #218919 flanl3Participant Cups (When I’m Gone) is sung by Holly as he fades out in Queeg. December 23, 2016 at 12:07 am in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #218917 flanl3Participant Have you actually gone and updated the app? December 20, 2016 at 5:57 am in reply to: "we might as well do a scene-by-scene ‘hold on this doesn’t make sense’ thread." #218901 flanl3Participant Actually, does the small rouge one actually have a generated gravity field, or just a device for amplifying its current gravity, or even better some antimatter collects at the center to give it tons of extra weight? It would explain why ‘up’ seems to have been longways, sideways, and outward at different times. December 20, 2016 at 1:02 am in reply to: "we might as well do a scene-by-scene ‘hold on this doesn’t make sense’ thread." #218900 flanl3Participant Either that they didn’t have a regulation zero gravity winch and just retrofitted a cargo picker sit-me-down for extravehicular activity with magnets on the seat and in the arse of the spacesuit. This would have to be the one, as the Confidence & Paranoia spacewalk (shh, we’re not even through one episode yet, pretend I never mentioned the fifth) wouldn’t have been so bouncy if the gravity field radiated outward. December 19, 2016 at 4:00 am in reply to: "we might as well do a scene-by-scene ‘hold on this doesn’t make sense’ thread." #218890 flanl3Participant Alright, so nothing much I noticed in the funeral scene (other from, how come there’s a slot in the drive room (perhaps the most important room) table SPECIFICALLY FOR sending off ash capsules out into space). But if Lister’s not buying socks or soap or deodorant specifically to save money, does the fact that he still hasn’t via the on-ship system this many years in still mean that he doesn’t think he has enough pay to purchase the farm/shop, if he even does plan on it still? December 19, 2016 at 3:16 am in reply to: Red Dwarf is Back on Netflix Streaming, but… #218887 flanl3Participant we might as well do a scene-by-scene ‘hold on this doesn’t make sense’ thread. Might as well indeed. December 18, 2016 at 3:54 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf is Back on Netflix Streaming, but… #218880 flanl3Participant Except it would need to be developed. December 18, 2016 at 12:16 am in reply to: Red Dwarf is Back on Netflix Streaming, but… #218875 flanl3Participant Is it OK if I burn Lolita? You know that thing when an ‘r’ and an ‘n’ right next to each other can look like an ‘m’? Eleven and sixty-seven hundredths out of ten on that comment there. December 15, 2016 at 1:41 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf is Back on Netflix Streaming, but… #218844 flanl3Participant Officer Rimmer: “Rimmer nuts everywhere in a dream then in his pants in real life.” December 15, 2016 at 1:40 pm in reply to: GlenTokyo's Alternative Cover Dump #218843 flanl3Participant Flanl, I’ve been ill as balls with a stomach flu/ general illness malady, so they’re on the back burner at the moment, they’ll get done though. Oh no! That’s no fun. December 14, 2016 at 5:33 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf is Back on Netflix Streaming, but… #218835 flanl3Participant Well, not the Dave series, clearly, but the fact that I spent almost as much on those three as I did on the first eight isn’t really much of a surprise. December 14, 2016 at 5:30 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf is Back on Netflix Streaming, but… #218834 flanl3Participant I think I bought my complete set for around $67, and the only problem I encountered was that I had to reassemble the box (it had come apart a little). December 12, 2016 at 3:33 pm in reply to: The real reasons behind Rob and Doug's breakup #218822 flanl3Participant Perhaps his the extra energy required to run in hardlight mode is acquired through the light bee taking in the mushy powder his digestive system would produce, the bee’s placement is sensible enough to catch it in the later stages of its journey. December 12, 2016 at 2:49 am in reply to: The real reasons behind Rob and Doug's breakup #218816 flanl3Participant If they’re a proper simulation with exact edges everywhere they belong, then it’d get ground up and come out the other end a pile of moist dust, I suppose. December 11, 2016 at 6:36 pm in reply to: The real reasons behind Rob and Doug's breakup #218810 flanl3Participant It may just be that they’ve agreed upon this as it may sometimes be more comfortable to go about in softlight sometimes. Let’s be honest, the important question is: what did Rimmer do with the car stickers when they arrived on Thursday? I’ll bet there’s some on the back of the car sofa. December 11, 2016 at 2:14 pm in reply to: Something which will make you all want to force me into a corner and beat me up #218805 flanl3Participant He crashed into a pile of hologram crap. Wouldn’t that make a bit more of a /squish/ sound? December 10, 2016 at 8:12 pm in reply to: Something which will make you all want to force me into a corner and beat me up #218791 flanl3Participant It seems only semi-permanent, or perhaps they hadn’t found that important enough to program into the interpretation of the ship’s layout December 10, 2016 at 7:36 pm in reply to: Something which will make you all want to force me into a corner and beat me up #218789 flanl3Participant Alright, here goes. Rimmer’s light bee is clearly not necessary for being on his original ship (as he can pass through Cat in The End & Lister through him in Balance of Power) and for very short amounts of time off-ship (quickly going through the door in Entangled, before he rejoins it once he opens the door). However, it presumably just becomes routine for him to have it in after they’ve gone on so many off-ship adventures and are tired of taking it in and out all the time. The fact that Rimmer makes sounds in the first place means that his on-ship projectors and his light bee both have a bit of sound capabilities, thus he can talk. They must also have a slight rough pre-programmed conception of completely permanent objects, thus he doesn’t fall through the floor or slide into his bunk up to his light bee, or in beeless cases, entirely, or even better, just go floating in whichever direction he pleases. Combine these, and you get the reason his feet make taps on the floor as he walks, runs, or turns, a ‘poof’ as he gets on his bunk’s mattress in soft-light form. He would only be able to go through a door and not a wall, as a door can be moved. Either that, or he would have to be doing it intentionally – either of these explanations explain it adequately for me. And thus, as Cat in the doorway isn’t a permanent object Rimmer’s projector would be aware of, he would pass through perfectly, but as he runs into a wall on the other side, it could very well stop allowing his projection to move in that direction and provide a sound (albeit a bit comical, it’s simulated after all) to indicate it. December 3, 2016 at 3:09 pm in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #218730 flanl3Participant “SILICON BIBLE” Oh, and since he’s got an oddly named Rimmer folder, might as well see if you can’t come up with sassy names for the others, including himself. I thought this was a Teletubbies fan site that I was just giving a break from its normal forum material. November 27, 2016 at 8:10 pm in reply to: GlenTokyo's Alternative Cover Dump #218683 flanl3Participant I mean, even though all the others have Rimmer and Lister, those two pictures definitely fit the DVD layout better than anything there’d be for R&L. Props to you on picking those shots and aligning them nicely, too. November 27, 2016 at 7:42 pm in reply to: What Rimmer's father used to say… #218682 flanl3Participant But was the letter from BTL really about the lecturer, or was it about Dungo? That question is still open and important. November 27, 2016 at 3:53 pm in reply to: What Rimmer's father used to say… #218677 flanl3Participant I’d assume his parents still talk quite a bit, otherwise a) Lecturer Rimmer wouldn’t have known or b) we’d have heard something about his parents ever splitting up. November 26, 2016 at 6:04 pm in reply to: GlenTokyo's Alternative Cover Dump #218662 flanl3Participant I must say, Cat and Kryten is an interesting choice.
