Cassandra is the only VIII episode I could ever see myself casually throwing on but Timewave is the only XII episode I couldn’t.

That said, I generally prefer XI. I’ve been having a hot, steamy love affair with Officer Rimmer since it aired regardless of how it kinda falls apart in the last couple minutes. There’s no other episode post-VI that I like as much as it.

We’ve all heard the proposition, exciting as any coma theory, that they’re still in Better Than Life for the whole series from the point they enter, so I’m prepared to blow your goddamn minds with another fan theory that recontextualizes a significant portion of the show in a non-pointless way: Kryten is never shown to be reprogrammed back to normal in Krytie TV—therefore he must be still in that state for the rest of the show. What does this fan theory seek to explain? 

Well, it sure makes for a good AI-narrated YouTube short aimed at people who haven’t watched the show in 20 years.

I don’t know how I could’ve telegraphed harder that I was making a joke when I said there would be riots in the streets if in the next new episode he didn’t do the one thing that could bring all fans together: give Rimmer the yellow jacket from Out of Time. And that if not riots, I would at least be outside chucking rocks at street lights.

If you read that unambiguously silly post and thought it was genuinely insisting anything that’s on you. I was making fun of the type of fan comment that you’re misrepresenting my post as being one of and I genuinely don’t know how I could’ve been more obvious about that.

I want to make a fan edit of Duel that removes the occasional internal monologue of the main character. I think every single scene it’s used it in would be more tense without it and you’d still be able to read what he’s thinking from the physical performance. I really do think its inclusion is a side effect of the movie being adapted from a short story and it would never have been there if it had been conceived as a film.

Has anyone besides me even seen it to know what I’m referring to? Do my 200+ Blu-rays make me a bigger movie nerd than the rest of you? Or at least a more financially irresponsible one?
