There are examples where shows have maintained or improved the quality after their creator or showrunner has left. However, I don’t see Community being one of them. While I still expect it to be better than most comedies on right now, due to the cast and remaining writers, I highly doubt it will reach the heights it has achieved over the past 3 seasons. Dan Harmon was a showrunner in the style of David Milch or Aaron Sorkin, meaning he had a hand in pretty much every aspect of the show.

To whom it concerns, 3 eps of Doctor Who nominated in its category for the Hugo’s (The Doctor’s Wife, A Good Man Goes To War, The Girl Who Waited). However, Community’s ‘Remedial Chaos Theory’ has also been nominated, and is the clear winner in my eyes.

If you haven’t seen it yet, I’d highly recommend the recent Paley panel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFb6kmzKpxQ).

Dan Harmon talks about being glad that it is now known that no matter which show goes in at their 8pm slot, up against the juggernaut that is Big Bang Theory, it won’t do great numbers, as has been proven by 30 Rock in the last few months.

Based on what I’ve seen and read online, NBC are actually promoting the return of the show a lot more than most fans thought they would, based on their history of not mentioning Community if at all possible, so that’s got to be a good sign.

@Carlito, Although it’s coming back for the rest of S3, we still won’t know if S4 is happening until May. But the producers seem to be semi-confident based on recent statement.

Glad to see so much love for the show in here, it has filled the Lost-shaped hole in my heart.

Paul, as I said above, I can swap my two 20th Jan tickets for two 16th Dec tickets. Since Kris got in there before me with danny f he has dibs on those, so we could swap? I’m not sure it’s all that important which episode comes first, people tend to take to it or not. For example, my first episode was Pete, Part 2. My brother saw Red Dwarf was coming on TV and said to me:

“Oh you should watch this show, it’s really funny. Let’s see…oh, it’s the one with the dinosaur, that’s the best one!’

(Makes me think of a line from Community: ‘Oh and for the record, there was an episode of Happy Days where a guy literally jumped over a shark, and it was THE BEST one.’)

I’m enjoying it, too. It’s a lot different in tone from CoE but I don’t think that has to be a bad thing.

I feel like I’m getting too distracted by recognising the American actors to actually decide whether they’re any good.

I think one of the things that makes LOST so great is all theorising and debating it brings up from episode to episode. I feel like people watching the complete box set through in a couple of months will miss out on all the other parts of the LOST universe.
