Thank you for sharing. February 28, 2020 at 11:40 am in reply to: Lost Dwarf #257849 curtisParticipant Also, the ‘giraffe called Gerald’ scene was shot during the recording of Cured, so presumably there is an alternate version of that scene somewhere with the Cat wearing a different costume. February 28, 2020 at 11:36 am in reply to: Lost Dwarf #257848 curtisParticipant There was a getaway scene in Twentica, shot like a black and white 1940s noir, complete with wobbly backdrop and shaky steering wheel acting. I loved it at the recording and asked Doug about it once. He said it was taken out because it was too ‘pony.’ July 3, 2019 at 11:37 am in reply to: Misheard lines #251758 curtisParticipant I only figured out the other day that the line ‘natural yoghurt eaters’ means ‘people who eat natural yoghurt,’ and not, as I thought, ‘people who are predisposed to eating yoghurt.’ I always thought that was a weird joke. January 15, 2019 at 1:47 am in reply to: Hollister and Todhunter’s share the same first name, ‘Frank’ #242515 curtisParticipant Forget all this Frank stuff, Hollister and Lister both have ‘Lister’ in their name. December 7, 2018 at 11:12 am in reply to: slzhnjhmwu #239634 curtisParticipant When in Rome, do the slzhnjhmwu December 7, 2018 at 10:18 am in reply to: slzhnjhmwu #239632 curtisParticipant I thought he said the most important thing was to ‘Slzhnjhmwu.’ August 23, 2018 at 10:42 am in reply to: Played any new games recently? #236373 curtisParticipant Mario Tennis Aces, Mario Tennis Aces, Mario Tennis Aces and Mario Tennis Aces. If anyone on here is playing Mario Tennis Aces, add me to your friend list and we will play it ALL of the time. July 27, 2018 at 1:12 pm in reply to: Things about Red Dwarf that make you irrationally angry #235086 curtisParticipant Kryten calling himself ‘2X4C’ in Beyond a Joke. June 18, 2018 at 8:04 am in reply to: Your Unpopular Red Dwarf Opinions #233047 curtisParticipant Backwards is better than Last Human. Danny John-Jules is the most consistent performer and the best thing about the Dave era. Continuity does matter Mr Rat is probably the show’s funniest moment full stop Hard light made Rimmer less interesting. December 19, 2017 at 2:54 pm in reply to: Idea for an episode. #226197 curtisParticipant OUSHITANDPISSOROS When Lister is spitting on Kryten’s wrist he finds this weird lump on his tongue that teleports them to Stockport. Then he makes this massive vat of custard full of shit and piss and tries to make Rimmer drink it but he won’t. Kryten doesn’t really know what’s going on but makes a best guess and gets them home. Once they’re back they end up promoting Rimmer because they feel bad about trying to make him eat shit and piss. Then they FINALLY let Warden Knot out of stasis so he can join the crew properly at last. December 19, 2017 at 2:31 pm in reply to: Idea for an episode. #226196 curtisParticipant OURIKMAYALLOUROS Rik Mayall comes back from the dead and terrorises the crew. The Cat needs glasses December 19, 2017 at 2:02 pm in reply to: Idea for an episode. #226194 curtisParticipant OUROBALLHOURS In a fascinating deconstruction of sitcom throughout the ages, the crew encounter a time-based convenience that makes all subsequent jokes sound like they were from the 1970s. Kryten gets into football and the Cat shits on one of Rimmer’s reports again. October 13, 2017 at 1:31 pm in reply to: Leopard Lager #222893 curtisParticipant The Bock Biere Cafe in Manchester is letting folk take them away. My mate just picked one up for me. October 4, 2017 at 8:53 pm in reply to: Old People #222578 curtisParticipant 33 I think I caught Out of Time on original broadcast, and possibly Justice. I remember being hugely excited when Philip Bunting told me about the 94 repeat run and hugely disappointed when Out of Time didn’t have a part 2. I also cried to my mum because I didn’t get to see Psirens. August 24, 2017 at 11:38 pm in reply to: Edinburgh screening #220699 curtisParticipant I can only think of two full scenes that were present on the recording night but not in the final assembly. The other though, if I remember correctly, was very plot specific. But then again, it was ages ago so I could have just forgotten loads. August 24, 2017 at 11:27 pm in reply to: Edinburgh screening #220697 curtisParticipant It was the set report gag that I’m referring to yeah. As for Officer Rimmer, I’m not 100% certain but I now think the scene was reshot and not recorded on the night for this episode. I could be wrong here though. August 24, 2017 at 12:56 am in reply to: Edinburgh screening #220677 curtisParticipant Loved it. Really strong episode. And for anyone that was at the recording, they cut that stinker of an old joke so good news all round. Good fun Q&A too. August 6, 2017 at 3:46 pm in reply to: Paul Giachetti, aka Karnie, RIP #220389 curtisParticipant I didn’t know Paul personally but a loss of anyone from our community is very sad indeed. Thoughts with his family and friends. March 30, 2017 at 2:27 pm in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #219581 curtisParticipant Completed it. Best episode, best game update. Still completely clueless as to how I managed to get that grate open though. Seemed random. March 30, 2017 at 10:39 am in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #219576 curtisParticipant Literally no idea how to open the grate. It was opening and closing before I could get to it earlier but now it remains shut even though I’m seemingly repeating the same action. I’m sure I’m missing something but no clue what that could be. December 21, 2016 at 8:14 pm in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #218911 curtisParticipant Never mind. Sussed it :-) December 21, 2016 at 7:57 pm in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #218910 curtisParticipant Enjoying it. But by Christ how do you manage to get onto those four pads in time in the finding Snacky level?! November 16, 2016 at 9:08 pm in reply to: Mindblowing thing I've just noticed about the Opening Theme… #218477 curtisParticipant Now some time had passed on this, does anyone else wish they could unhear it? November 2, 2016 at 11:54 pm in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #218006 curtisParticipant If it was any other game I’d have cheated ages ago. November 2, 2016 at 8:40 pm in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #218001 curtisParticipant Karma Hack is driving me insane October 29, 2016 at 2:01 pm in reply to: What if Red Dwarf had started in 2006 and not 1987? #217690 curtisParticipant “We could go to Paris in 1997 and shout, stop. Sorry, I must have bypassed my good taste chip” October 29, 2016 at 12:36 pm in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #217689 curtisParticipant Samsara hasn’t updated yet has it? Much improved Starbug game though October 28, 2016 at 7:35 am in reply to: Rank Series XI #217597 curtisParticipant Officer Rimmer Trojan Give & Take Fathers and Suns Krysis Twentica Samsara The Beginning Back to Earth Lemons Can of Worms Entangled Dear Dave October 23, 2016 at 3:59 pm in reply to: Which cast member would you fuck and why? #217390 curtisParticipant Hitler October 23, 2016 at 10:40 am in reply to: X or XI? #217367 curtisParticipant XI for me all the way. Loved it and sorry it’s over. Not a perfect series by any stretch but funny, ambitious and packed with ideas. There are a few niggling things that bug me and doubtless always will but alongside Trojan, it’s the best of the Dave era. And Officer Rimmer is probably in my top 36; worth it for that alone. October 22, 2016 at 4:53 pm in reply to: Mindblowing thing I've just noticed about the Opening Theme… #217338 curtisParticipant I’ve only just got over the two closing themes revelation. Stop doing this to me! September 24, 2016 at 4:17 pm in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #216349 curtisParticipant Enjoying this game and nice to see the feedback is being taken on board. If I was to make a comment it would be to say a scoring description might be useful for each level. Are scores based on time taken to complete the level, damage taken, a combination of the two or something else entirely? Also, I can’t find a way to replay the introductory video. Is there a way to do so, and if not, could that be incorporated? September 21, 2016 at 11:39 pm in reply to: Let’s Talk About Red Dwarf XI: The Game #216187 curtisParticipant Finished the first set of levels. Pretty hard. Quite nice though. Kind of massacres the Twentica script. August 29, 2016 at 6:52 pm in reply to: SERIES XI PREMIER IN EDINBURGH TOMORROW #214782 curtisParticipant SEB: I’d be interested to know which he means! If it’s the one I think it is, then it’s my favourite of the series, but I wouldn’t necessarily have had it as the opener. It is indeed the one you said was your favourite last week. August 28, 2016 at 9:01 pm in reply to: SERIES XI PREMIER IN EDINBURGH TOMORROW #214763 curtisParticipant Just left let the Manchester screening. Titbits of note from the Q and A (sorry if any of these have been covered elsewhere): Sets from X were water damaged and had to be rebuilt for XI. Twentica was selected as the opener over Doug’s preferred episode as the other episode looks like it has a small budget. He gave the episode number; is it spoilery of me to say? “We rebooted on 10. It’s the original Rimmer.” I think he’s mistaken but that’s what he said. He seemed pretty certain about both 13 and 14 and that he’d take a rain check after that. December 29, 2009 at 7:53 pm in reply to: Canabalt – a surprisingly fun Flash-based Parkour game #107413 curtisParticipant Is it just me or are those things at the back quite clearly Starbugs on legs? December 7, 2009 at 4:26 am in reply to: Twin Peaks #106865 curtisParticipant First series – Brilliant Second series – Flashes of brilliance when Lynch directs. Unfortunately this mostly serves as a reminder of how good this series could have been if he had had a greater involvement. Fire Walk With Me – The most underrated of all Lynch’s films. Utterly stunning To paraphrase, well worth watching. Top programme, but dont get too excited about the 2nd series October 24, 2009 at 7:19 pm in reply to: Whats Your Favourite British Comedy? #105247 curtisParticipant I got Nathan Barley. Happy with that. Not really my favourite but a top show nonetheless July 17, 2009 at 10:47 am in reply to: Carl – check your emails #101216 curtisParticipant Oh wow. I was at the Wolves gig. I travelled from Manchester because they werent playing round here this year and Im gonna make the trip there every year they play there now. Brilliant gig. Best I’ve ever seen them and I think thats about the 7th or 8th time I have. Richey – I notice you post over on Forever Delayed. Would you be able to let me know whats in the Sound and Vision section. You know, that horrible elitist bit that they dont let you look at unless you dedicate your life to FD. Favourite Manic’s fan story No1. Karl goes to watch them play in Wales and writes ‘For Ryhl’ on his arm. Genius. Favourite Manic’s fan story no2. My mate does the same thing in Manchester but his eyeliner pen runs out halfway through ‘For Real’ making him pro-Religious Education. July 10, 2009 at 6:03 pm in reply to: What is the movie of the year? #101003 curtisParticipant ‘Let The Right One In’ – Technically not of a film of this year but its really good April 10, 2009 at 11:19 am in reply to: Norm’s post-Dwarf tell-all #95681 curtisParticipant Ah well, Im not intending to fall out with anyone, especially on today of all days, and you do make some good points. I too find it sad that Norman’s posted these things, however, he might have legitimate reasons for his grievances. I think its awful to see such nasty character assassinations about him when people aren’t in possession of all the facts. Author Replies Viewing 43 replies - 1 through 43 (of 43 total)
