    CONSPIRACY AND PARANOIA

Wild baseless accusations are thrown about by sperms that shouldn’t have made it in an attempt to try and justify their existence.

One friend with a sharp eye pointed out you can actually see the ghostly figure in the window before it’s right up against it and clawing at it (it’s at the back of the garden, slowly making its way forward) and that there’s multiple occasions later on where you can see similar creatures hiding in the background, reflected in mirrors erc. which I hadn’t spotted before. So once again I was freaked out by it

Yes!. I realised that too. It’s very much a “Pipes Sighting” scenario looking out for all the appearances…

OK, I’m very late to this thread. I mentioned this in the PipesCast, but broadcast interruptions scare the fuck out of me.

I thought that it was excellently played. I was watching it live (I tend to watch things after the fact on demand, but this was diferent). I was expecting something to go slightly wrong, like Si said with the egg or the radio, but then the sound cut out and I was genuinely annoyed the music died down and then I realised that the dialogue was muted, so I thought “maybe this is part of the plot, maybe he’s deaf or something and that’s the point”. and then the “Technical Difficulties” board came up and I was pissed.

When the show came back on and was still muted, I was just annoyed by that point. And even on a Whatsapp group. I’d announced that I’m not watching it anymore. By which point A Quiet Night In had started, and I wasn’t paying much attention to it, until I heard the music wavering, and when I looked up to see the ghostly figure in the window, my stomach lurched. That proper, horrible feeling when something isn’t right. I haven’t felt that in ages.

Then the camera’s switched and the 4th wall came tumbling down. And from then on I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. I even remembered to breath every once in a while. I thought it was fantastic.

I tried to watch it again straight afterwards but I couldn’t bring myself to watch it so soon. I had to wait until the sun was up before I could manage it.

And like Si said. I couldn’t trust my TV from that point on that night. I was expecting something to happen. Even at 11pm when Steve mentioned it would repeat, but at that point is was supposed to the the Ring, and I noped the fuck out of that for the night.

I saw Samsara bering recorded. My thoughts are pretty much down on record on teh Dwarfcast. But the long and short of it was:

Pre-recorded stuff doesn’t bother me because I understand if it’s unfeasible to present it in a way to the audience on the night (ie Samsara having to be clean for the Pre-accident) it needs to be pre-recorded. I think it was much more frustrating for the crew filming it having to move from set to set in order to present the story in chronological order for the audience to understand. Especially with the Kryten-Rimmer/Cat-Lister threads running concurrently.

The scenes with the live performances were complex enough to require the time needed (and I think we’re also on record to say that it was the longest shoot time of Series XI, regardless of pre-records).

That ‘Ha HA ha’ is DEFINITELY the same piece of Audio reused.

I tell you what colours the performance for the better for me is the laugh track in DNA. The scene where Kryten is troubleshooting his anatomy (ooh pardon), there is a distinctive high pitched squeak laugh which for me is just as much part of the scene as the dialogue.

    Last shot of Red Dwarf:

Lister painting the ship, Still on the F, The last crimson paintbrush stroke finishes off the signage.

    Camera pans back…

    Lister [Comms]: Finished…

    Rimmer: Finished?

    Lister: Yes!

Rimmer: Red Dwarf has two sides you know?

Camera pans round to the other side of the Dwarf. Filthy and unreadable…

I really like Paul. It’s a love letter to the Spielberg/ILM-era of sci-fi films. That spaceship at the end just fills me with Douglas Trumbull-like joy.

It’s a cracking film with an excellent CGI protagonist, which is difficult to pull off with a budget film, and he has genuine character.

it’s certainly not perfect but it’s action packed enough and got enough geeky humour without being offensive, and I doubt it would have got to that point with Pegg and Frost writing.

I’m looking forward to the World’s End though, although it’s a film that’s gone in a direction I wasn’t expecting. I had this same experience with Hot Fuzz, I genuinely didnt know that Hot Fuzz was a slasher film. Did anyone else here not know when they went to the cinema? I’m pretty sure it wasn’t in the trailer (or for some reason i never actually got round to watching them), but I was genuinely shocked when Draper and Blower got their heads stoved in…

Pretty much this. Questions are put to 100 people before the show, and their collective thoughts are turned into a point structure to base the game on.

I’ve just seen this, and associative bias aside. It’s a genuinely enlightening watch. Rich and Lesley (Manning) have done an amazing job with it.

Get it, watch it enjoy it.

Genuinely one of the most satisfying projects i’ve been a part of!

Always reminds me of old Robin Hood movies…but living in Nottingham may have something to do with that.

Funny you should say that… Always reminds me of this music from The Sea Hawk.

It had Errol Flynn in it. you can tell where John Williams gets his inspiration from.

No problems. I knew this one off the top of my head, but the majority of library music details can be found on TOS http://www.reddwarf.co.uk/guide/index.cfm the library music is listed by series.

Yep, he might well have done. I’ve heard it in different places too. it’s stock library music. The track is called ‘Reach For The Stars’ by Richard Harvey.

    No problems.

Mabel: i’ve deleted the previous post with the bigger spacing as the text was making the thread hard to read. Thank you.

NotePad will work fine, just make sure you’re using a monospaced font like Courier New.

You only have to use the pre tage once before the text and once when you’re finished, you dont have to put on on every line.

There we go! Tis working now. I really would recommend using a text editor though to get your alignment right before pasting into a forum post. The text setting in the forum post gives no indication of the final post.

The one I posted where all the | are lined up I did in a TextEdit first, knowing it would look like that with the pre tags.

Fun Fact: ’tis the same guitarist who did the mental Red Dwarf opening. Tom Blades (possibly the best name for a guitarist in existence)

The usual text format of the box won’t allow for multiple spaces, it’ll simply ignore them.

    if you put <pre>

between your text you want to be monospaced.

    That'll allow for spaces,

    And multiple line carries :)

    </pre>

the <code> tag isn’t what should be used

Yes that’s a good point. Melodies would be hard to post, but I think Tablature should be ok as long as it isn’t copied verbatim from a official source (which I dont believe exists for tab anyways.).

Keep them Dwarf-centric if you can please. Also Mabel. If you wanted to use spaces to line up your bars, you can do. Cappsy’s worked his magic on the tag to allow for them. Fankoo Cappsy!

I’ll be testing out your progression later today Mabel, so i’ll let you know.

    Flobadob, blib blob blib.

    Lol, Seb.

Mabel, no I haven’t I’m just going to try something

This is a test for monospacing fonts

Yay it works! Mabel (and anyone else wanting to do this) if you use the <pre>and</pre> it turns the font monospaced for easy formatting of chords and barlines etc…

It’s weird isn’t it, even by the end of Series III Kryten hadn’t quite fit in. But Camille happened and BANG, it’s like he’s always been there…
