“In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the 60-year-old confirmed all of the main cast were on board but it would be matter of sitting down and thrashing out the details together.

“In terms of a live show tour, we haven’t sat down properly and spoken about it but all the boys want to do a live tour and it will be great,” he said.

The star from Manchester went on to say that the audience would probably want “an hour-and-a-half or two hours with a story”, which would require planning and writing on his part.

“So it wouldn’t just be like Python at the O2 doing sketches and a lot of dances and songs,” he said.

I was reading that Go 8-Bit was the single most-watched show on Dave in the week it aired with 600k viewers (including +1). So with that in mind, what’s going to be seen as a reasonable figure for XI, 1m? Trojan got about 1.5m overnights if I remember but obviously a bunch of people hadn’t been watching that online for a whole week before.

Alternatively, are TV ratings pretty much irrelevant these days due to the changes in viewing habits and (from the money men’s perspective) are the on demand figures & DVD sales all that really matter for them to give the go ahead for series XIII?

Just to confirm, it was from last night, Danny, Craig & Robert sat together watching one of the VT segments towards the end.

Yeah, everyone on standby got in. Once the actual ticket holders have got in they go round the standbys by number & give out wristbands.

I went on standby last week, turned up about 4.45 and was number 17 on the standby list (someone gives you a number as they check your ticket) so yes, earlier you get there the lower your number will be. That being said, there’s only been one recording where they’ve turned away people so chances are you’ll be fine anyway.

There’s a big tent with plastic seats in that’s used as a holding area. They do sell some snacks and drinks in there while you wait and there’s portaloos just outside it. Best to bring a coat as you’ll be there until at least 6.30 and it gets a bit chilly.

Despite being someone who loves all things Partridge, since it’s just ‘I’m Alan Partridge’ then it’s an easy decision. 2 series of which one was disappointing Vs all Dwarf has to offer?

Even taking into account the enormous drag-factor of Series 8, I still think we’ll come up with something pretty special.

It’s not going to happen for a while yet, unless Doug can fit it in between writing & directing Star Wars Episodes 7-9.
