And by that I mean everyone chases Archie around the ship for 30 minutes.

I’ve played as all the new ones at least once (well, the ones I’m not waiting to unlock) and Mega Man, unsurprisingly, is my favorite. Pacman, though…he’s pretty shockingly awesome. Little Mac is also really good if you’re skilled / lucky. If you’re neither of those things you don’t stand a chance, but if you are, it’s pretty thrilling to play as him.

I was skeptical about the Wii Fit Trainer and the villager, and I certainly haven’t mastered either of them, but I’ve seen them do impressive things in matches. I doubt I’ll play as either of them very often, but I’m glad to have them in the roster, because it’s led to some interesting fights already.

“I played Fallout 3 and as much as I wanted to enjoy it, it bored the living shit out of me. I think I just couldn’t get on board with the setting, unlike the Elder Scrolls games.”

I know what you mean. In fact, that’s exactly how I felt about the Elder Scrolls games…I adored the world and mythology of Fallout, but couldn’t bring myself to care enough about Elder Scrolls to press on. I recognize them as being Very Good Games…but I find myself caring about my actions in the Fallout games more than I care about them in Elder Scrolls. To each his own obv, but I see where you’re coming from.

“Never had the inclination to replay it.”

I’ll be honest…as much as I love it, it’s nothing I can replay often. I’ve made it through the game a grand total of three times. It’s a work of art, but not one that I think I could handle re-experiencing too frequently. Maybe part of that is the dungeon design and the sometimes (but not always) ropey mask integration. But I think, for me, it’s more the atmosphere and subject matter. It just claws so deeply into me that I simultaneously love it and am chilled by it.

And Fallout 3. Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see anyone on your Facebook post mention that.

Most people seem to think New Vegas is better.

    They’re wrong. Play Fallout 3.

To balance out my smartass answer on Facebook, you can check this out:
    http://www.nintendolife.com/vc/games?region=pal&sort=rating

Full disclosure: this is a site that I write for. But by no means are all of these my reviews…nor do they necessarily reflect my opinion at all.

Even so, I sorted it from highest to lowest ranking, so if you want to browse the games that reviewers enjoyed most, you can see them easily and get an idea of what catches your eye. These are only the games that have been released for Nintendo’s virtual consoles, so it’s be no means comprehensive, but it’s a start.

Also, Majora’s Mask is the best video game ever made.

Rev and The Inbetweeners for sure then, even if the former is getting a tacit recommendation at best. It looked interesting to me and it doesn’t seem to be out and out hated, so that helps. There’s also Moone Boy or something with Chris O’Dowd. If that’s any good.

Glad to hear that. I’ll definitely be picking it up on DVD…I’m just not in a rush to do so. (Though I did see a vanilla box with all three films for $20 or so, and I thought that would have been an excellent buy for people not as features-mad as some of us.)

Yeah, that seems like a pretty good trailer. I guess I can’t say that definitively without seeing the movie, because I have no idea how misleading it might be, but it really does one hell of a solid job in getting me revved up for it.

Moonrise Kingdom’s trailer was good, but it didn’t get me enthusiastic. It got me thoughtful, and it made me look forward to the movie, but this is the kind of thing that makes me wish it was already out, because I’d kind of like to see it immediately.

Oh, I forgot to start an argument. Here goes:

The Life Aquatic > The Royal Tenenbaums > Moonrise Kingdom > Rushmore > The Darjeeling Limited > Fantastic Mr. Fox > Bottle Rocket

Though I honestly can’t decide which way around Moonrise and Rushmore should go.

I’m afraid to go back. :( I almost booted it back up to see what Halloween was like, but then I was afraid that it would just be a bunch of villagers yelling at me for not pulling their weeds.

I’d like to see Christmas in Animal Crossington…so what kind of cleanup should I expect for not touching the damned thing in months?

Full trailer. This got several laughs out of me. Like, real laughs, and not just chuckles. That very rarely happens in a trailer for anything, so I’m looking forward to this way more now.

March will also see the release of the new Wes Anderson film. I so rarely go to the movies, but when there are multiple things I’d like to see upon release they sure to seem to cluster together.

Awesome. That was a great writeup, and I love seeing you dig into things like preconceived notions of what a sitcom can be / should be. I’d love to see you do something like this for the complete run of some show…but that’s just me being selfish. Whatever it ends up being, I’m positive it’ll be great.
