This episode is also a musical. July 19, 2015 at 9:54 pm in reply to: PLOTS FOR SERIES 11 #212176 PongoParticipant Rimmer mentions he had a secret dog on Red Dwarf before the accident. They open up some vents and find a race of humanoid dogs. The Cat gets tired of not being the only evolved pet and swaps bodies with Kryten. Then, a knock on the airlock: Kochanski is back – and she’s on her period. May 23, 2013 at 8:14 pm in reply to: The Name of The Doctor #207991 PongoParticipant I thought it was a load of tottenham. Some poorly updated footage of Classic Who followed by 40 minutes of everyone explaining how important things are? Here’s hoping things improve come November. November 26, 2012 at 10:39 pm in reply to: DR WHO is 49 #204641 PongoParticipant Many happy returns, Who MD. November 5, 2012 at 11:31 pm in reply to: Old series fans take on X #203375 PongoParticipant I shudder to imagine a reality where I gave up on Arrested Development after the underwhelming pilot episode. Haha, that is a terrible analogy. November 2, 2012 at 7:30 pm in reply to: Fucking Facebook #203300 PongoParticipant Some people should just stop viewing if they don’t like it. And by that I mean you and the RD Facebook page. October 23, 2012 at 6:52 am in reply to: Twitter never ceases to amaze me… #202781 PongoParticipant Maybe Doug should spend more time on scripts rather than Twitter. But who am I to complain? MIMOP’s a fan. October 14, 2012 at 9:40 pm in reply to: Demastered – A Series X Project #202376 PongoParticipant This is a wonderful idea. In the Bodysnatchers documentary ‘Remastering Red Dwarf’, Doug Naylor comments that a cinematic presentation adds a gloss and barrier to the comedy that sits inbetween the show and the viewer. He said that? Why did he go ahead and Series X all cinematic? September 29, 2012 at 8:21 am in reply to: Rare Vanessa Feltz interview with Bobby and Norm 99 #201768 PongoParticipant Norm deserved some laughter for his line about “acting from a distance”: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_at_a_distance_(physics) September 27, 2012 at 5:01 am in reply to: More extras passed at the BBFC #201650 PongoParticipant Whither Red Dwarf Unplugged? September 25, 2012 at 9:14 pm in reply to: Red Who – highly unlikely, but Radio Times quotes Craig and Danny #201594 PongoParticipant I like Matt Smith, but his comedy bits in Who have been painful. I suppose if you leave Moffat out of it this could work. September 9, 2012 at 5:44 am in reply to: Doctor Who Series 7 #200482 PongoParticipant The scenes with the Doctor and Solomon – which I liked – were at odds with the rest of the episode. I wonder whose idea it was to add “comedy” henchmen, dinosaur shenanigans, Rory’s dad, Queen Nefertiti, and Lestrade to a story about genocide. The villain was well-acted, at least. July 16, 2012 at 5:57 pm in reply to: Doctor Who Series 7 #116521 PongoParticipant One of the new episodes is called Pete. Oops, my mistake: Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/18858556 February 14, 2012 at 11:25 pm in reply to: Silver Dwarf? #115195 PongoParticipant I’d like another Rob Grant novel. And to see the Unplugged idea to come to fruition. Both please. June 19, 2010 at 12:44 am in reply to: Doctor Who – Series 5 – Broadcast Discussion (NO SPOILERS) #109990 PongoParticipant The revelation of the TARDIS shard should definitely have come last week, as the lack of the crack has made the impending finale seem sudden. Still, the Lodger is one of my favorites of this season. For those keeping score, my favorites have been: The Time of Angels Amy’s Choice The Hungry Earth The Lodger May 9, 2010 at 5:20 am in reply to: Doctor Who – Series 5 – Broadcast Discussion (NO SPOILERS) #109687 PongoParticipant An average episode, but easy to watch due to Smith’s performance and all the good lines. Rory was surprisingly good, given how irritating he was in the Eleventh Hour. April 5, 2010 at 4:07 am in reply to: Spoilers! Doctor Who – New Series. New Thread #109265 PongoParticipant It would have been nice to know what Prisoner Zero had been imprisoned for and who the Atraxi were. January 2, 2010 at 7:55 am in reply to: Doctor Who – End of Time Broadcast Discussion #107603 PongoParticipant Casting the diamond at Earth was cool, as was the image of the Time Lords materializing in the mansion. Otherwise, a lot of wasted potential. Wasn’t really interested in the knocking four times and all the hullabaloo that led up to it. But then I found all the omens and the prophecies and the foreshadowing to be fairly lazy writing. Why didn’t the Doctor visit Joan Redfern, why her descendant? I felt the partial regeneration last season was much more effective. The Doctor getting blasted by a Dalek was more traumatic, and Tennant’s reaction was subtler. The trailer for Matt Smith’s series looks great, though. January 1, 2010 at 2:05 am in reply to: had some good news #107487 PongoParticipant Felicitations! For a name I suggest either Jim, Bexley, or Speed. December 30, 2009 at 8:22 am in reply to: Doctor Who – End of Time Broadcast Discussion #107418 PongoParticipant “You could be byoootiful.” Here’s hoping the Eleventh Doctor doesn’t have Ten’s yen for catchphrases. December 26, 2009 at 6:29 am in reply to: Doctor Who – End of Time Broadcast Discussion #107310 PongoParticipant What poo. RTD, Tennant, and Simm aren’t my favorite writer, Doctor, or Master, but they’re all capable of better than that. Still, better than last year’s finale. December 21, 2009 at 8:38 pm in reply to: BtE Wins “Biggest Disappointment” Award #107195 PongoParticipant Gets my vote. December 19, 2009 at 5:38 am in reply to: Red Dwarf Animated Xmas Special – “Mistletoe & Whine” #107043 PongoParticipant Great job! Largnog is not unheard of. Friends of mine have made alenog with little success – the beer doesn’t stand up to the cream unless you’re willing to use something like Sam Adams’ Utopias which sort of defeats the purpose of using beer in the first place. In any case, good writing and acting. Rimmer’s put-downs were right on the money. I thought that after the movie was over Holly would smile inanely and call Lister “David” in a misguided attempt at consolation that Lister would poo-poo but inwardly enjoy. But that’s probably out of character for Holly. Makes you wonder how the Boys from the Dwarf would celebrate Christmas though. December 17, 2009 at 12:07 am in reply to: The official The End of Time thread (will contain pre-broadcast spoilers/speculation and post-broadcast spoilers) #107063 PongoParticipant So they did one thing right. December 14, 2009 at 7:37 am in reply to: The official The End of Time thread (will contain pre-broadcast spoilers/speculation and post-broadcast spoilers) #107017 PongoParticipant re: The PerformingMonkey A superlative list. We’re in agreement but for TEC/TDD, Runaway Bride, Smith & J, Library 2-parter, Midnight, Turn Left, and Waters of Mars, which I would swap out for The Unquiet Dead and Gridlock. EDIT: I would also leave out Sound of Drums. December 14, 2009 at 7:35 am in reply to: The official The End of Time thread (will contain pre-broadcast spoilers/speculation and post-broadcast spoilers) #107022 PongoParticipant I haven’t tried to rewatch Impossible Planet/Satan Pit, but EotW holds up well enough – Britney Spears notwithstanding. Keep in mind I think David Tennant is the antichrist. December 14, 2009 at 3:38 am in reply to: The official The End of Time thread (will contain pre-broadcast spoilers/speculation and post-broadcast spoilers) #107019 PongoParticipant I’m sure they’ll include plenty of doctoral arrogance and po-faced foreshadowing in the End of Time. No need to waste 60 minutes of your life to see Lindsay Duncan kill herself. December 14, 2009 at 3:00 am in reply to: The official The End of Time thread (will contain pre-broadcast spoilers/speculation and post-broadcast spoilers) #107016 PongoParticipant >The audience should never know the episode is a multi-parter until the cliffhanger. I’d suggest the same for regenerations, but with the level of publicity around filming these days that’s an impossibility. A mid-season regeneration would be nice. June 3, 2009 at 3:21 am in reply to: Norman interview #99559 PongoParticipant I’m not totally up to speed on the Lovett situation, but he seems fairly evenhanded in the context of this interview. Especially if what he says about reserving January and February is true. Yes he may be sugarcoating the situation b/c he’s flogging something, but still.. April 18, 2009 at 6:47 pm in reply to: More Dwarf? Digital Spy say YES! But with new writers… #97468 PongoParticipant Rob Grant or nothing. April 17, 2009 at 8:19 pm in reply to: Which Holly? #97329 PongoParticipant >I loved Norm?s Holly in Series I & II. Nice to see him back in VII. Not the same >old Holly though in VIII. Pointless/wrong in Remastered. To be fair, most of the cast were not their same old selves in VIII.. April 17, 2009 at 8:09 pm in reply to: Which Holly? #97323 PongoParticipant Bill Bailey. Maybe Dylan Moran? Failing that, don’t really think it makes a huge difference whether it’s Norman or Hattie – outstanding personal issues with other castmembers excepted.
