I’m tempted. It’s not a million miles away… but I’ve no one to come with me.

I’m sure there’ll be a G&T contingent you could meet up with!

We as fans used to criticise DJ also after all, sometimes it deserved it and some times it didn’t. We watch a show where shouting “Smeg” is what we do. This smegging ain’t DJ & there is no DJ. That’s where we are at. Rant on fans. Good luck Official Convention.

Yup, can confirm. It’s slightly triggering, but also kind of interesting to be able to watch this from a distance, to see people use DJ as a weapon against this event, when their beef seems to actually be that DJ doesn’t exist anymore.

And FWIW, I don’t give a fuck that they call themselves the first official convention.

It’s never too late for the old team members to get back involved…….(if any see this post).

😂😂😂😂😂😂 Thank you, I needed that!

Also, that’s a HARD no from me. I put 11+yrs of my life into that club, I worked bloody hard and honestly it absolutely breaks my heart (and pisses me right off) to see the current state of it.

If I was still on the team now, I would absolutely expect a hard time for the lack of… well, anything. Volunteers or not, people still pay their hard-earned money. My mindset was always,  yes we’re volunteers but that doesn’t mean we can’t be professional.

They were always a bit of a funny bunch the fan club. They always seemed absolutely furious when people would ask them questions about DJ or anything else fan club related. I guess if it was volunteer work it was probably an inconvenience but they did seem slightly confrontational at times.

🙄 And thank you for being the perfect example of why you’d never get me back on the team.

As the person who dealt with our social media channels and organised DJ until almost exactly 5yrs ago, I can confirm that I was never “furious” when people asked me questions. Did I get frustrated at answering the same question 20 times when the answer was in multiple emails, on the website and the 19 responses prior to that one? Sure, but unless someone was being an actual AH, the response was either the information requested or pointing them to the information requested.

It’s weird when people assume tone where there is none. 🤷🏻‍♀️

“Well DJ isn’t until next year, so they aren’t waiting to announce it then if they’re gonna be filming Nov & Dec.

GNP have nothing to do with the organisation of DJ, announcements in the past have purely been lucky timing.

I think I would appreciate the model more if it wasn’t so in your face about being a model. It didn’t fit the atmosphere at all, almost like it was shoved in with no real thought behind it. The abrupt explosion and subsequent exit didn’t help matters either, seeing as it fired the shot. Although it did take out a rather nasty little troll that was in the blast radius. Well, it would be difficult to not be in the radius when you’re trying to pork the damn thing.
Overall, big mistake by the model department. I hope they replace it with some half assed CGI when the remastered comes out.

I imagine the most significant point is the marketability. The bottom line is that they want to sell these things. The Red Dwarf fan base is small (in the grand scheme of things) as it is, and then you’re only appealing to the subset of that small group who also want to buy novelty lego sets.

This. As much as *we* all love RD, it’s not anywhere near as popular worldwise as either TBBT or Ghostbusters. I fear that the number of people in the centre in the venn diagram of RD fans and people who buy Lego sets, is probably too low to make it financially viable for Lego.

@Jo: Attention seeking?! Again?!? Where did you even get that from???

The repeated references to your modelling and the fact that I’ve seen three different profile photos on your posts in the last few days.

    Wanna know what I think?

    Nope!

I think you’re self entitled and you don’t give a shit about who you offend, as long as no one offends you.

Interesting. So you should be allowed to make insulting comments to other people on this forum, and say that they’re not decent people. You think it’s ok to call women slags. You think it’s ok to call people “retarded”, but it’s *me* that is the problem here?
I mean honestly, there are plenty of people who I wouldn’t want to offend tbh. However, I really don’t give a shit if I offend *you* and I don’t care what you think about me, so you’re partially correct.

I’m not even interested in hearing from you again. You can post snarky replies all you like but this is the last response you’ll ever get from me.

Cool! I’m good with that :)

    Oh, be nice.

    Secondly, I’m a fucking DELIGHT.
Thirdly, if someone acts like a prick, I’ll treat them like a prick. As previously stated.

Feel free to combine these three statements into one glorious whole.

I find it amusing that you judge others as being not “decent” given your earlier language in this thread.

Here’s my last modelling page, I started it ten years ago.

Yes, this is definitely all about proving you’re a real person and not you attention seeking, again.

Fuck off BDTS. You don’t get to use the I have anxiety and depression line as an excuse for using pejorative language. PLENTY of people around here deal with anxiety and/or depression, but they don’t hide behind it when they act like a prick. Don’t act like a prick and you won’t get treated like one.

If you haven’t already bought a ticket for her, you’ll be out of luck. We’re sold out and there’s a standby queue for cancellations.

I like that there’s a little monitor at the side during the asteroid navigation, to show you how much further you have to go, but I’d like that on every level – it’s something that I would have liked on the Twentica levels too.

The Find Rachel level is incredibly frustrating and I’ve just given up on it for now, after much swearing. I seemed to be walking for ages and having no idea how much further I need to go (whether I’d almost made it to the end of the level, or was nowhere near), means that I’m less motivated to try again.

    I mean why wait?

Why not? Why spunk their load and then have nothing in the bag for the foreseeable?

It makes WAY more sense to air in Sept/Oct 2017, that gives them time to try and get XIII (and maybe even XIV) in motion, ready for airing in 2018. I’d far prefer a regular autumn slot for the next few years, rather than watching it all now and having nothing until 2018 or beyond.

Jo, you’re on a forum where one of the threads is asking who we think has the biggest penis out of the main cast.

PTS, you’re a patronising prick. Huge LOLZ though, that you chose a troll post to somehow defend your shitty comments. Amazing work! *slow clap*

I said bingo for a laugh, that was it.

Yeah, people often do that for no reason whatsoever.

It’s a fan forum for a telly show, don’t stress over it.

What does that have to do with anything? I know exactly where I am thanks, so you can keep your patronising twaddle to yourself.

Ian, you never got it wrong, Jo did

    Yeah, I didn’t though did I?

I’m just worried about you, it’s all got a bit serious and tense around here.

PTS – Things are referred to as being “… bingo” when they’re mentioned a lot
(Example: Anti-vaxxer bingo – “Do your research”), but then you know that and you’re obviously being obtuse.

My post wasn’t directed at you, it was in fact giving the informative response that you were apparently incapable of giving. You decided to reply anyway, not with an on topic comment about the show that *you* wanted to talk about in the first place, but with a snide remark about “triggering”, which added nothing of value to to conversation and just made it look like you were continuing to be a dick.

locusceruleus – A genuine response to your question.

A friend of mine recommended the show to me, so I asked her and she said the following:

“You don’t see it but some of the bots are victims. It’s implied rather than visual (It’s what some of them are there for, you can kill and do whatever you want with them). You see one of them thrown around and kind of old style “what I’m gonna do to you” type thing. There is a lot of nakedness when the robots are being worked on also. They are treated as objects not people. Not sure if that’s triggering.”

She also said the first episode is a pretty good example, and if you’re ok with that, you’ll be ok with the rest of it. Hope this helps!

Explaining whose kidneys were in the jar was unnecessary, they weren’t Lister’s, that’s all we need to know and most of us had figured that out anyway.

I’m baffled by those complaining about how things need to be explained more this series, and yet when they do explain various situations fully, people generally agree that it’s unnecessary and tedious.
