Puerile and silly in places, but it wasnt meant to be high drama. That might also be a defence often used for things being utter shit (like Hardware) but in this case, as a reaction to all the PC bullshit of the 80’s Game On must’ve been a breath of fresh air, and I think it still stands the test of time. The three (four) leads acted their roles well and their delivery of certain lines was just sublime. “Are you…. ripping the piss… out of The Fury?” March 7, 2009 at 8:59 am in reply to: SFX: Back To Earth – Double Page Spread #93268 AlParticipant looks like cats made himself a new purple spacesuit. or diving suit! Couldnt understand why youd be on a course for such an activity, seeing as you frequent G&T! January 21, 2009 at 7:04 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89395 AlParticipant sigh, see i dont know if youre being serious now. I was just trying to say that as far as i see it its not a nice idea to pour (mock) negativity or insults over people who are just trying to create some discussion.. January 21, 2009 at 12:33 am in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89376 AlParticipant In fact Ive just noticed he himself said he wasnt funny. This goes to show how I can misinterpret things…. January 21, 2009 at 12:31 am in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89375 AlParticipant If thats the case, thats cool. But seeing as kakchriskak is new (at least to posting) telling him hes not funny and mocking grammar and punctuation is a little unwelcoming. Im probably overreacting anyway and none of this matters to anybody, but for someone whos contributed a lot and tried to start some dwarf based discussion on the foums it just seemed a little harsh. January 20, 2009 at 11:39 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89367 AlParticipant It just seems like everyones suddenly got it in for the guy, and a little unfairly. I wondered if something had gone down on another thread and I was thinking badly of some people for no reason January 20, 2009 at 7:53 pm in reply to: Obama’s Inauguration #89359 AlParticipant Has kakchriskak murdered somebodys parents or something, did I miss a major infraction here? January 4, 2009 at 6:30 pm in reply to: The Spoilery Doctor Who Thread (The Next Doctor / Matt Smith casting) #88291 AlParticipant In regards to the skin tone issue, something is tugging at the back of my mind from my academic days – I dont know how to phrase this as succinctly as I maybe should, but theres something about whether someone has black skin/features or white skin/features being a smaller difference on a genetic level than height, build, ear shape, mouth size, loads of other little minutae. Which, if you look at previous regenerations, never seemed to be a concern. January 3, 2009 at 6:22 pm in reply to: The Spoilery Doctor Who Thread (The Next Doctor / Matt Smith casting) #88190 AlParticipant Moffat has hair like an action man January 3, 2009 at 6:10 pm in reply to: The Spoilery Doctor Who Thread (The Next Doctor / Matt Smith casting) #88185 AlParticipant Should be interesting – H e seems to have no lips however….. THe womans everywhere! Plus she has a quite silly made up name December 30, 2008 at 3:17 pm in reply to: Danny John-Jules one of the most annoying people of 2008 says BBC Three fucktards #87969 AlParticipant I didn’t think it was that bad, only a bit of fun – agreed with most of the choices and got to laugh at some truly ridiculous behaviour. call me cheap (I am) but I can appreciate that along with more highbrow stuff. And bloody agyness deyn at number 1 convinced me. Nothing so wrong with BBC Three for me. December 30, 2008 at 8:56 am in reply to: Danny John-Jules one of the most annoying people of 2008 says BBC Three fucktards #87962 AlParticipant too many actuallys in there December 30, 2008 at 8:56 am in reply to: Danny John-Jules one of the most annoying people of 2008 says BBC Three fucktards #87961 AlParticipant Actually, it was binmen who were in the countdown. Danny actually got fairly lauded for his samurai moment. September 10, 2008 at 5:06 pm in reply to: Identity / Credit Card Theft? #84201 AlParticipant this has happened to me, my best friend and my girlfriend. I got done over for a grand and a half, while I was away on holiday! I got in touch with the bank and within ten days I had all of my money refunded, which was nice! never found out how it happened, but it looks like whoever did it skipped the country as the theft was one transaction for “travel money” right by heathrow…. September 2, 2008 at 5:24 pm in reply to: Last Minute – Robert Llewellyn on TWiT #83904 AlParticipant This is excellent news, Ive been reading the posts for the past few days with steady excitement…. Very good questions too, although how come noone asked whether the special would feature Chloe Annetts foaming twat? June 30, 2008 at 11:35 pm in reply to: The Doctor Who Spoilers Thread – Part III #81890 AlParticipant It seems to me (and it did last year) that the drum sound *is* a heartbeat. If you think about it, in order to get a timelord heartbeat, overlap two slightly quick human heartbeats, and you get the same rhythm thats been used all along as the drums. “A-B A-B”, A being the first heart and B being the second one. No idea what it means, mind. Wheres tonguetied to help us all make sense of this? April 30, 2008 at 6:58 pm in reply to: Wii Fit #123071 AlParticipant I got this for my girlfriend the other day, and it told her she was 32, and me that I was 38. Im not even 22 yet! My girlfriends in great shape but she doesnt do much exercising so I can kind of understand that… but I dont see how when my centre of gravity was only slightly off, and Im smack bang in the middle of ideal BMI it said I was that old. Granted, I dont really exercise apart from doing lots of walking, but it cant see my beer belly, so how did the cocky little bugger come to that conclusion? After about an hours messing around with the jogging, some yoga, hula hooping, jacknife sit-ups, it told me that Id lost a pound, and I now had an age of 30. Eh? How come they didnt give *him* the “back on the street with the rest of the brothers” line? March 24, 2008 at 9:50 pm in reply to: Slightly disturbing Youtube find. #121908 AlParticipant I remember this being in the smegazine, and being massively confused by the presence of Judge Dredd. Only took 15 years to get to the bottom of it. What a disappointment! Wasnt anywhere near as cool as the one in 2002 though. I live right near Birmingham, so I copped a good heft of it that time! February 19, 2008 at 10:30 pm in reply to: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull #120627 AlParticipant Its always right to be dubious with these new sequels, but so far Im pretty hopeful. Did anyone else notice the crate that was humming had Roswell 1947 written on the side of it? Thats all pretty cool, as long as if any aliens involved theyre mystical and Godlike, in keeping with the franchise. I cant wait to see more of the Raiders box warehouse. Oh and Andrew Im with you on the greenscreen! February 8, 2008 at 5:51 pm in reply to: “I felt like a piece of shit.” – Robert Llewellyn #120182 AlParticipant I remember investigating this whole concept a while ago, the head of my sixth form tried to push it in an assembly. December 15, 2007 at 7:56 pm in reply to: Christmas Telly #118523 AlParticipant Ah yeah Ive noticed those Ben, theyre pretty visible too! And youre right about Galaxy Quest, pure awesome. On the subject of Die Hard apparently in the mid nineties on US network telly there was a ridiculous edit of Die Hard 2 where Bruce Willis had seemingly been dubbed over by a ridiculous voice, it ended up being more like a jive black dude. When he ejector-seats from the plane he shouts “aw heeeeell no!” or something instead! And says “Yippeekay-yay Mr Falcon” at the end. Madness. December 15, 2007 at 7:28 pm in reply to: Scammer Scammed, Craig Involved #118521 AlParticipant Fresno Bob, perhaps? They never did say what happened to him… December 15, 2007 at 7:09 pm in reply to: Scammer Scammed, Craig Involved #118517 AlParticipant I agree with Seb on this one, Ive not read the site apart from the linked article but this sort of thing seems on the good side to me, pretty harmless. It could be far worse to be fair, has anyone seen that American show “To Catch a Predator”? Crivens! December 15, 2007 at 7:03 pm in reply to: New St Trinians movie… #118516 AlParticipant Wasnt the Narrows part of Gotham city in Batman Begins built and filmed in Cardington Airship Hangar where they did “Pete”? Its all a set y’see….. December 15, 2007 at 6:57 pm in reply to: Original Smegazine cover art on Ebay #118515 AlParticipant Its pretty shirtless for a non-pose! December 15, 2007 at 6:51 pm in reply to: Christmas Telly #118514 AlParticipant Thank God for the ludicrously named “Ultimate Action Edition” of Die Hard 4.0- all motherfuckers present and correct. When I saw it at the cinema I remember *noticing* the edits to remove the language, in one scene just after the gas lines blow up Justin Long is in the back of shot and you can see his mouth saying an entirely different sentence, probably due to Willis’ swearing over the original dialogue or something. There are still some dodgy edits but thank fuck Fox saw sense! And at least, thanks to the AVP Requiem red band trailer, we know theres at least one “fuck” in that! December 13, 2007 at 11:09 pm in reply to: Scammer Scammed, Craig Involved #118456 AlParticipant All I require from you is your bank account details and sort code and we can wire you de monies directly… December 13, 2007 at 5:44 pm in reply to: Original Smegazine cover art on Ebay #118449 AlParticipant Krytens head looks a bit dodgy on that painting, his expression looks like someone incorrectlt handling his groinal attachment…. And it seems that Seb is joining in with the G&T male model agency too….. December 11, 2007 at 7:46 pm in reply to: AvP Requiem #118403 AlParticipant I think it looks ok, if a bit condensed as Andrew points out! It looks pretty rough though, the music is most likely a temp track, used before the final edit, as its all ripped straight from the old Predator films, and the bit where the father and son find the ship is from Alien Resurrection. Maybe its been souped up at least a little so that it makes a nice preview friendly length? Still visually it looks pretty cool, and the predator homeworld- if thats what it was- looked quite interesting. Cheers for pointing us that way Andrew! December 10, 2007 at 8:41 pm in reply to: Mrs Doubtfire #118374 AlParticipant >Drop Dead Fred really is a guilty pleasure! Havent seen that in years, I remember it as being mostly terrifying- coked up Carrie Fisher trying to throttle thin air, oh dear. I always thought that she’d just wandered into the set and the plot of the film matched whatever trip she was on! Speaking of Alien Versus Predator (shudder) though, has anyone seen this? http://uk.media.movies.ign.com/media/746/746237/vids_1.html try having a looksee at the “Red Band” trailer, you have to enter your age and everything so it must be scary- I cant work out whether I like the look of it, it looks a damn sight better than the first one though! December 10, 2007 at 5:50 pm in reply to: Available for Panto: Your TV Career… It’s behind you! #118367 AlParticipant I find phils little tache rather sexy December 3, 2007 at 11:18 pm in reply to: Back to the Smegma #126127 AlParticipant Apparently you used to be able to sit in it, but these days its behind a bit of rope….. and on a big tilted plinth. It did have a flux capacitor yeah, even with some of that letter tape on it with “SHIELD EYES FROM LIGHT” stamped onto it- awesome. I didnt even know it was there, its in a crappy cornish goldmine museum in Redruth, its just referred to as the “time machine” with no back to the future references at all. As soon as you walk in, there it is behind the watch counter. I think its only one of four that ever existed, one of which was totalled at the end of BTTF3. December 3, 2007 at 7:02 pm in reply to: Doctor Who II #126119 AlParticipant http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/programming/a81051/pre-watershed-torchwood-planned-for-kids.html, Oh brother. December 3, 2007 at 6:48 pm in reply to: Back to the Smegma #126118 AlParticipant Never mind I figured it out eventually- the sheer coolness of back to the future was proven to me by the sensation I got when I saw the actual DeLorean in Cornwall- this was the model used for all of the “hero” shots of the cockpit, with the detailing and working controls. Just *starting* with the car its an awesome series of films, made better and better by a fantastic score, excellent cinematography, and split screens/wipes that still look great today. I so wanted to get in and get up to 88….. December 3, 2007 at 6:22 pm in reply to: Back to the Smegma #126117 AlParticipant Pete, how do I paste images into a post like you have above- Ive got a visual method of weighing in on the whole back to the future discussion…… November 22, 2007 at 1:26 am in reply to: Inconsistencies #125836 AlParticipant While I’m on it, why does a short range mining vehicle need a cloaking device? November 22, 2007 at 12:51 am in reply to: TV spotting #125834 AlParticipant Captain Hercule Platini was in Spooks the other day, as some kind of secret service bod. I think.
