I drove my smart car in the rain to my sister’s house listening to blur’s 13 reissue to watch Trojan with my sister and her husband. We laughed a lot and I was pumped as I drove home to catch the live reaction Dwarfcast.

I watched Twentica alone on my phone and didn’t laugh out loud at all. I think there’s a lesson here somewhere but Trojan was an amazing event definitely. Series X was sort of announced at the 2009 Dimension Jump so it was a three year hype that didn’t disappoint for me.

37, been there since my brother showed me series 2. He is 39 and saw Confidence & Paranoia/Me2 first time around. The hologram projection suite part of Thanks For The Memory had series 1 clips which tormented me for years until the VHS came out in 1993. So I read series 1 in the first novel and smegazine before I saw it.

The original ending would have been better in the short term but in the long term the ‘what the fuck was that’ ending is more interesting. ‘What the fuck was that’ was my response to at least the second half of VIII though.

I will never get tired of Patrick Stewart variations, I hope the forthcoming 30th anniversary Dwarf Cast is stuffed full of Patrick.

I will include Back and Forth in my next rewatch and then immediately watch Blackadder Rides Again. The Black Adder was a bit like series 1 of Red Dwarf for me in that it was the series that I watched last and which had a lot of mystery surrounding it.

Do people think Back and Forth has got better with age? I don’t really, but I wonder if anyone does.

I’m reading JE Robert’s Blackadder book after seeing @mumoss recommend it on twitter and I’m up to Blackadder 2. I think Richard Curtis’ observation ‘no matter how hard you try making a series of six, two are great, two are okay and two are weak’ applies to all the series. My besties would be Born To Be King, The Black Seal, Bells, Potato, Dish & Dishonesty, Duel and Dualbiity, Private Plane and Goodbyeee with a special mention for the Christmas Carol which I sometimes think is best of all.

My name is Phil and I’ve been a fan since my brother showed me Better Than Life in 1988 but I became a mega fan around series V. First saw the G & T crew on the VII DVD in the fan film section but didn’t sign up to the website until I’d been thoroughly entertained by the Back To Earth instant reactions. I thought Pecospete’s appearance on the 25th anniversary Dwarf Cast was amazing.

I love Dwarfcasts! The ending to the last XI one was emotional.

Sorry Darrell you already clarified the point – I did see the version of Royal Flush with fake laughter and it somehow made me sadder than the original.

The Royal Flush on Brit Box has no laugh track and is 75 minutes long. The version I had on VHS was the same so I’m guessing John Sullivan mucked about with it for the DVD.

Is there a way of watching the new OFAH documentary online?

I just watched the whole series on Brit Box and a lot of them are the original non edited versions U.K. Gold have been playing although some music substitutions are still there. For some reason To Hull and Back, The Miracle of Peckham and Miami Twice are missing entirely. I think A Royal Flush was unedited too because Del was a total cunt. The last three episodes are not the worst – I think the worst one is Video Nasty.

Episode one of Miami Twice did have audience laughter and is actually very good. It’s the second part that is all done on film. Episodes one and two were edited together for VHS and fake laughter was added to the second half. I have watched this version once and it is a slog.

I say Back To Earth is more To Hull and Back than Royal Flush. It would have been the Miami Twice if they’d been able to afford an audience.

So many ways but I randomly met my best friend at DJ 97 and he in turn introduced me to my wife on the occasion that we met up to watch The Beginning. Because of this I now live in Texas.

Going through the novels again, they are very adult and I think they helped me put life in a healthier (possibly) perspective than I may have done otherwise. I read the first two novels when I was twelve.

I remember Cappsy saying that he gave up on VIII half way through and Only The Good… is the only episode since V that I didn’t watch on day of broadcast.

I always remember that ‘follow the Rimmer shaped blur’ was quoted by an actress on my college course who had shown no previous interest in Red Dwarf just after it was broadcast and then ten years later a good guitarist friend said that Pete the dinosaur was the best episode. I’m happy my wife laughed at Back To Reality and I think I’ll leave it there.

I always thought the cat walking up to Blue Midget was just partially obscured by space atmosphere – never looked that bad to me. Lister’s hat and locks going transparent during the observation dome scenes bothered me more.

I laughed so hard at Ridley’s comment.

Wanking and Red Dwarf have never gone together for me- closest I got was the Chloe Annett FHM pictures but I didn’t go through with it.

Going by the introcast, the reaction to VII and VIII will be interesting! My wife has watched a couple of episodes with me – she really laughed at Better Than Life and Back To Reality but on the whole it’s treated as background TV which of course makes me die a little inside.

Anyway, please report your partner’s reaction to the newer episodes Ben!

I dreamt about series XII last night. The cast addressed the audience in front of a curtain Mighty Boosh series 1 style apparently not in character. The rest of the show was a bizarre animation entirely like Attack Of The Killer Hand (Fan Film winner 2005). It was shit and I was pissed off.

The artwork in the Future Echoes adaptation of the part where Bexley explodes made me feel sick and made me nervous to watch the episode when it finally came out on video a year later.

My biggest memory of Pete was that a dancer from my performing arts course quoted the Rimmer shaped blur line. Years later a guitar playing friend of mine said his favourite episode was Pete the dinosaur.

I remember seeing this promo at the time and thinking it was all a bit pony looking. Chris is in full Gary Prince mode here. Interesting to think this is what series IX might have looked like.
